  1. A big congratulations are definitely in order
  2. I bought 2 new birds also and am thinking about the graph glass. From what I’ve read they are worth it
  3. Not that I agree but thought I would share, seen this the Other day. My plan is to buy the Ultrex this winter with the DI transducer built in,
  4. Despite what one hears about the bbc board, you can get a lot of great knowledgeable information on the Humminbird sonar forum, particularly from Wayne Purdue. I have installed a helix 10 di up front and helix 10 si at the helm, haven’t had a chance to use them yet but have received all the information on how to use them through the bbc board. The Technological Angler through you tube gives a lot of understanding on your settings through many videos all in aiding ones understanding of how to use these units.
  5. I changed out to a 3 bank charger, I have a dual pro for sale, have had it about 4-5 years, works great, these are not a throw away chargers, they can be repaired if problems occur, asking $100 dollars if anyone around St. louis area and surrounding counties are interested.
  6. Nothing better than spending the night out night fishing, peace and quiet and good fish, problem is changing my time pattern over from working hours, need about 3-4 days to adjust, getting older isn't for sissy's. LOL
  7. sent a pic yesterday, did you get it?
  8. I have a comfortroll recessed tray I am looking to get rid of, new one sells for $130. I bought the new deluxe so I can upgrade to the Ultrex. It’s in great shape, would like to get $50. Anyone interested, here in Washington Mo. Send a PM if interested
  9. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) announces that Cesar Rodriguez of Carthage is now the state record-holder for hybrid striped bass after catching a 21-pound, 11-ounce fish at Lake of the Ozarks May 19. Rodriguez used the pole-and-line method. Though the fish breaks Missouri’s previous hybrid striped bass record of a 20-pound, 8-ounce fish, set in 1986 at the Lake of the Ozarks, Rodriguez wasn’t that surprised when he reeled in the bass. “It was just a normal day out fishing,” Rodriguez said. “Last year I caught a 24-pound hybrid in Oklahoma, but I couldn’t find a game warden to confirm it. So, this catch didn’t come as a surprise that it was a record-breaker.” The fish’s weight was verified on a certified scale at MDC’s Roaring River Hatchery in Cassville. The hybrid striped bass is the sixth state-record fish caught this year. Rodriguez mounted his prize fish, and said he is planning to catch another that will top his even-larger Oklahoma catch. Missouri state-record fish are recognized in two categories: pole-and-line and alternative methods. Alternative methods include: throwlines, trotlines, limb lines, bank lines, jug lines, spearfishing, snagging, snaring, gigging, grabbing, archery, and atlatl. For more information on state-record fish, visit the MDC website at https://short.mdc.mo.gov/Zxr. NEWSROOM Nature Notes
  10. patlock, what do you think of the set up you have, it is exactly what I have decided to get for the Champion. As far as your SI transducer, did you have to go with the Transducer Shield & Saver spring back bracket on your rig or were you able to use the shield and wedge on the set back or jack plate?
  11. Has anyone used the top water rod from witch doctor rods Surman 50G.
  12. That's a nice load of crappie for sure, congratulations.
  13. I was back in Indian creek Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Usually takes me a half day or so to figure things out but when I did it was all over. Found them in Isolated brush or cover up near the bank, some behind docks, others not, caught most out of just two areas. Seen a lot of people using the spider rig also. Thursday after that front came in they were still there but playing their games a bit but still managed to catch them. Next week with that warmer weather will really get em going.
  14. Nice fish for sure, wish I could get down but out of commission for this spring, what size weight you throw when throwing that swing jig Quill, a light one and working it through the water column or a heavier one and bouncing it along the bottom? The swing jig is one very deadly and versatile set up
  15. Nice fish for sure, congrats for placing yourself
  16. very nice
  17. There are a lot of people that claim the everstart 29dc deep cycle battery is a great battery at a great price. It only has a I year warranty and available at wallmart stores everywhere. $86.00
  18. Call deans and give them your Hull ID number on the back of the boat & email them a picture of the seats
  19. I’m sorry to hear that also, I never met him but talked to him on the phone, he has a lot of people he met at Champion owners tournament through their FB page concerned
  20. I have a update on Bruce Phillips as posted on the Champion boat owners Facebook page. His vitals are declining and he is not getting any blood flow to his foot and needs his leg amputated, the doctors don't think he can make it through surgery and without removing his leg he will succumb to more infection so they are putting him on comfort care. This is from his son Jason
  21. I have caught some of my biggest stringers this time of year with the water temp in the 40s, I always have a small 3-4 " grub tied on with 3/16 - 1/4 oz. grub head. Smoke pepper, Milky S&P, are my two I have done the most damage with. Watch for gulls and schools of shad, as long as they aren't all over the lake as in Bill's post you may get inti some good fish, once I find them I start fan casting, I have caught them even right up on the bank. Good luck!!
  22. Was wandering if anyone new this man, 176 Champion ,aka Bruce Phillips has suffered a stroke and is in the hospital? Wishing you the best and a speedy recovery Bruce!!
