  1. Absolutely hilarious Ab. Dave if you read this, we all hope your well and let us know whats up with you.
  2. I would guess that Dave is in full football mode. Didn't he change careers to Teaching and Coaching?
  3. Appreciate the report and pics balsa. Sounds like the fish up the James are getting into Fall mode.
  4. Well said Champ. A perfect example is the way I fished this past Saturday. Fished shallow, 5 to 10' first thing in the morning up a major creek with a square bill and war eagle blade. Caught 8 bass with 2 keepers being SM and LM. Around 10:00 am I ran to a deep dock (about 60' deep on the end) nearby and saw solid shad at between 30' to 45' on my graph. For the next hour I caught 4 fat keeper K's and 2 keeper LM on a war eagle spoon. The Rock has something for everyone deep, shallow & everything in between. Unless you just want to fish a certain way with a certain technique, be aware of what is going on while your fishing and modify your approach, and of course if you run into Bill while your out, do what he tells you to do! Thanks for a fine report Bill, always appreciate your timely posts.
  5. Way to get after those shallow fish Champ. Glad you and Donna had a great day.
  6. Cool double on the spook, the way it ought to be....one of each hook! Thanks for posting, also good pics.
  7. Good looking spoons Ab. I love your comment about Bills clients loosing there baits in the back of his boat seats.
  8. Great report Bill, don't have any Dixie jets and according to other posts they are not easy to find. Will a war eagle spoon work? I have the drop shot and spin bait covered. Is this mainly an early morning deal? This is hard on a guy to read this kind of activity when you have to work! Thanks
  9. I guess another factor for poor hook ups might be the size of the buzz bait. 1/2 oz is a fairly large offering, maybe a 1/4 oz smaller profile bait would help. The fish could certainly suck it down better to allow for better penetration. Just a guess.
  10. I feel your pain Sprint. I fished Sunday morning mostly in Mill Creek. Started at 6:30, caught a keeper SM on the blade on my fifth cast. Didn't catch anything after that, called it a day at 11:00 am.
  11. Thumbs this is a great find! Can't believe someone would post this.
  12. Caught 3 keeper LM and 2 keeper SM on the war eagle screaming eagle blade on Saturday in the KC area. Nothing big, but they measured. Almost hit the bank with the bait then ran it 3 to 5 ft deep through the trees. Did catch a few shorts slow rolling it down to about 10 to 15 feet. Cold cloudy north wind day up until about lunch time. Tried TW and couldn't get any surface action. Didn't try the buzzer, they may have liked it based on the good reports recently. Sorry about the hook up problems Quill. The only thing I could think of is the retrieve speed either too slow or too fast?
  13. Sorry I messed up the link: http://www.pigstickerbait.com/.
  14. Laney, Pig Sticker is a bait company. They make football, finesse jigs, wobble heads and A rigs. They produce a good product that can be ordered with a variety of skirt colors or naked jigs. Their website is http://www.pigsticker.com.
  15. Good job guys. The fishing has been somewhat tough lately. Thanks for the report and pics.
  16. Good report Donna and Champ. About time you quit messing around with the golf and get to fishing. Sounds like fall fishing is right around the corner! Based on the size of that craw you could have dropped him in some boiling water.
  17. I just watched Pete Wenners video and his report is very similar to yours. The shallow bite with the topwater has improved since this heat wave. He also mentioned like you that the topwater bite is even good throughout the day if you find the bait in the creeks and pockets. If anyone hasn't seen Pete's report you can find it at www.hookedonbass.com. Nice report Alex and good job finding some fish and patterns that are working.
  18. Glad the scumbag was caught. Too bad the boat owner wasn't carrying. I for one wouldn't approach my dock at night without a hand gun, if I thought someone was on there messing around.
  19. Nice report Quill. Happy to hear that the spin bait got some action, the reports are starting to get better as more use this bait. I fish them on a medium light action spinning rig with 6 lb fluoro. I haven't caught any on it since early summer, but haven't been fishing much either. QB let us know how the bigger rear hook works, it should help keep fish on better, but I am afraid that the extra weight in the rear will cause the bait to run with the slight tail down position. My next trip out I do plan to target suspended fish with the spin bait. Bill: Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers had a decent selection several weeks ago. You might give them a call before making the trip at 479-631-8118. I was in Cabelas a few days ago and they don't have any.
  20. You sure did better than I did in the KC area Sunday. Tried TW early then went deep with the drop shot. Not much to show for our efforts in about 4 hours. Would never have thought about a spinnerbait in clear water, high sunny sky, and no wind. Way to think outside the box.
  21. Great report, glad you had a great trip on the Rock. Hope you and your family's plan to relocate work out.
  22. I concur with you guys about this site. Excellent source of information, strait forward post and it just amazes me the different opinions some topics. Thanks Phil and Bill and any other Admins that I might not know about.
  23. Sounds like a nice set up Merc. Thanks
