  1. I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but fished about 4 hours Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00 in KC area. Caught 11 with only 2 keeps. Only 1 small jaw, and the rest K's. Best K was on the jerk bait, one on a 1/4 oz wobble head with SK menice twin tail grub and the rest on the little rig. Keeping the boat in about 20' most fish we in 8' to 15'. Don't over look big docks on steep banks in stalls with up to 40' under them. Caught several K's suspended at around 10 to 15'. Didn't fish today, but watched a ton of fish up to 5 lbs suspended just under the floats or boat lifts. They would have been tough to get at from the water with the big boats on the lift. Good Luck.
  2. I believe that will do it. Excellent response Dave.
  3. Yea, rain chance late Sunday with post front cooler temps and north wind for a few days, then more rain later in the week. May be good late week with the cloud cover. Look forward to hearing from you during the week, and I hope you catch your share of em. I know you love the brown fish, so lets hope they will be on the move in the shallow water.
  4. It is about to be your time on the Rock....huh Dave? I think your timing is going to be good. Are you coming down this next week? Are you going to mess with the crappie?
  5. Nice report Phil. Certainly a beautiful day to be fishing. I suppose you are about to get the grease hot....can't beat a freshly caught crappie!
  6. I can personally attest to the color "Easy Money" catching fish. Sometimes that orange flake in that color is the bomb. Cabelas usually has that color in stock. I agree with Dave though that color is a secondary consideration under most conditions. I just experiment with different colors just to see if they are more attracted to one or the other.
  7. Your report is hurting me to read it, since I am still working. Great day and thanks for the report.
  8. You are right Jeff. I don't know what I was thinking. ha ha
  9. Great pics Bill. That must have been exciting to watch the whole day. Looking back on it now that he got the win.
  10. I have been dragging the Pig Sticker "pig rig" around for several years, although mostly in the summer months. Have used baby brush hogs, 10" worms, and trick worms. Like trophy, they will not catch any fish. A lot of different craw style baits will work, but you had better be prepared to lose some as they get stuck in the chunk rock. Swimming them along the bottom might be the better deal, and would not hang up as much.
  11. Thumbs & Alex: Thanks for your take away's from the big show. Just goes to show us amateurs that we need to slow done and work a good area more, and make every cast the best it can be.
  12. Bill your post on Mike using a bait caster with the small swimmer and with that kind of accuracy is amazing especially with the wind blowing. I have tried it and have a tendendicy to yank the cast to the left since I am right handed. Glad one of our own NW Arkansas guys won it. As Mike said it was just ment to be getting home with a blade broken off his prop.
  13. Nice report. Sounds like you are doing quite well with the wart.
  14. KC area today had water temps from 48 to 51 degrees, but I got off the water at noon. Didn't get much going but only fished for an hour or so.
  15. The Rock is not Ish's deal. If he can't pitch a black/blue creature bait with a 2 oz slip sinker in the green slope he's lost.
  16. Still at work. Will give you a call or text when we are on our way over to the lake.
  17. Why didn't you holler at Martens and tell him where your pet fish are located? LOL Don't catch all of those spots until I get over there late today.
  18. Okay. We may have to wait until the weigh in this afternoon. Any news on how Martens is doing?
  19. Based on the pic's on the current blog, the crank (wart) bite looks to be on. Lot's of bass with warts in there mouth. Hey Quill, Does Davis have a limit yet? If I had to pick someone to pull for it would be him.
  20. Lane will be one of several to watch. He is on a roll, and a great angler. Kreit and Scanlon are off and running also. This weather is setting up good for some major catching, as long as the severe storms don't roll in.
  21. Bo, Very good point you make about what is happening on the upper end. Never thought about the influx of cold water from Beaver. I would think that by the time it reached that area around Eagle Rock it would have warmed up.
  22. That is the way to spend a couple of hours.....action packed. Thanks for the report, the Kings is heating up.
  23. Very neat. I know your excited about getting out there.
  24. Haven't been able to out and test the mushroom heads, wobble heads, and swim baits yet. I did receive an envelope today with some other goodies. Will try them out soon and report the results. The pic's of the swim baits with the inserted jig head look interesting, great looking colors also. What are you thinking about the inserted jig head? Is your idea that the action would be different/better than other exposed jig heads? I would like to try them, but I don't know when you need them tested. I may get to fish some this weekend, but am mainly going to be watching the Elite derby. Thanks again.
  25. You had a successful weekend, if not for catching fish, at least you got your boat lined out. I will be out watching the Elite boys fish this weekend, maybe I can learn something other than reading reports of all the fish being caught on the A rig.
