  1. I have been looking at this chip also. What is the best chip for TR? Navionics or lake master? Do you use lake master?
  2. Thanks for the info motoman. I am going to be throwing the Ned Rig for the first time this weekend in and around the K city area. Your report will come in handy. Thanks also to dtrs for his expertise, and many posts on this technique. Do the fish you've been catching still have eggs, or are they post spawn? Thanks and Good Fishing!
  3. Great report Bill, especially the pic's of your clients and fish (good quality/nice weather). dwiebenga has ask the million $ question. What will the weather do to this great fish catching?
  4. Good report guys. Going out today in this weather was worth it for you. Sounds like the crappie pulled off the bank due to approaching front?
  5. Great report! I plan to fish the K city area Saturday/Sunday. This cold front may slow the catching down a bit. Does anyone have any idea how the cold temps and passing front will impact the fishing? Thanks again for the good information, and nice pics.
  6. Thanks for the report "T"
  7. I too have enjoyed your posts for the past two weeks. All in all with conditions like they were you had a good trip. I will be fishing the Ned Rig, thanks to your helpful information.
  8. Sounds like a good strategy to me. From what I am reading the sows have not moved up shallow yet, and as clear as the water is they may set up in 10 to 20 feet. I have been fishing too shallow, and will change to keeping the boat in 30 fow, and working slowly along the bottom back to the boat. Good Luck.
  9. Good report. What a nice day to be out fishing. Water temps are getting good, if the warm weather holds on. Are you still fishing the finese c-rig?
  10. Thanks for posting this Phil. I have never met Mr. Fletcher, but have followed the articles written about him
  11. Great report Bill. Good to hear about the grub bite doing good, and the Ned Rig. What was the best color of grub for the cloudy weather? Thanks
  12. Haven't fished the Ned rig yet, but have been following your post since you've been down on your trip. I bought some jig heads and the ZinkerZ's and plan to put them to work this weekend. Thanks for all the great post on the K city area, as I fish this area the most. I am always looking for new technique's to catch fish, and your reports are proof that this rig will catch them. It sounds like your trip is nearly over, but you've caught a lot of fish. Thanks.
  13. I have a Lews spinning reel, but have only used it a couple of times. It seems solid, casting distance is good with 6 lb line, but a little on the heavy side. The price point is very good at $ 60.00. I have the 200 model, and only time will tell how it will hold up.
  14. Wow, those are some good bags for being this early in the year for night fishing! Jason, have you fished any of these events?
  15. I have one rigged up with two large willow leaf blades. It works well for fishing it shallow, but just the opposite when you need to keep the rig deep. the blades add lift, and certainly add some extra pull. The flash they put off is good, which I think is good under certain conditions. This is just a matter of what you want the rig to do.
  16. Good report. From the recent reports I have read the big girls are still off the bank in deeper water. The bucks are getting ready for when the water temp gets right. I know the Rock is the best lake in our region, and therefore I purchased a second home in the K city area to enjoy it to the fullest! You can't go wrong buying a slip, and fishing the Rock full time.
  17. Bill, Good point about bank fishing! Sometimes we just have to hear it stated the way you put it, especially with the water clarity/temps the way they are. Thanks for the all the great reports, and I didn't notice the last photo was a MM.
  18. Dinks or not, you had a great day. Are you fishing the C-rig with a heavy sinker, or more of a finese presentation. Sounds like the spawn has started in the upper part of the lake. I fished the K-city area this past weekend, and didn't find any fish shallow. We did manage several keeper K's on steep/bluff banks suspended in cedar trees, and some good K's schooling in the middle of the creek over 40 FOW. Caught all the fish on jerk baits.
  19. Good to hear the grub bite was good. How deep were you fishing the grub? What area of the lake were you fishing? Thanks for the report.
  20. Good report Topwater. Haven't seen many reports from that area. Thanks.
  21. I didn't fish today, but temp on Saturday in the Kimberling City area was high of 54 in shallow creeks, but about 50 average. Nearly 80 today, so should have been higher.
  22. That is great! Quillback, you've got too much time on your hands, but you come up with some dandy's. Thanks
  23. Thanks for the info. I may try and fish the Kings this weekend.
  24. BB: Excellent report, as always. Thanks so much for your contributions to help all have success on the Rock.
  25. Yea, that's all I need is another on line tackle store to tempt me to buy more lures. I did go to Mondo to look at the perfect 10 baits, and they look good, plus getting a jerk bait down to 10 feet would be a real plus. I may have to get a few and try them out. Thanks for posting this Quillback. If you get a chance to try them, let us know how they work.
