Im sorry you derive pleasure out of trying to make others feel bad about something they enjoy. Thats terrible....Also...do you find it curious that you are grossed out by "garbage fish" in "mud puddles" yet routinely wade the pristine, crystal clear waters of the lower meremac?

Regarding the post, I was fishing jefferson lake yesterday and today on my lunch break (bass have been biting well on topwater, and roadrunners) and saw quite a few guys out with fly fishing gear fishing for what i can only assume are trout. I think the urban trout fishing program is pretty cool...i dont see how anyone could bring themselves to eat a trout...i would (and do) eat bass before id ever touch a trout, so it doesnt interest me, but for those who do, its a fun hobby close to home.

Totally unnecessary, and tasteless. A real show of class. What else constitutes "weak fishing?" Just for fun. Panfish? live bait? children fishing? all forms of weak fishing im guessing? Nobody would know what a fool you are if you just posted fishing reports.

This is what I do no problems here either.

Holy cow those are huge. I don't think they get that big at busch (well who knows? ) the biggest I've seen was maybe 35 inches.

Great info thanks for sharing! -
I've noticed there sure are a lot of "best" wacky worm colors. Odd....almost as if it's more of a user preference.
-
That's awesome!!! A pretty incredible feat I'd say. Lake 35 at busch wildlife has a bunch. I've caught one, seen a few caught, saw a large dead one. And several of my crappie look to have been bitten in half almost. Also watched a guy catch a very large one out of lake Kincaid in so Illinois. Lots of people fish for them at Kincaid....but almost nobody fishes lake 35 for them.

There's a lot of drum on that river. I caught 3 the other day just under why 44 on a pearl white bandit 200. Since I'm throwing everything back when I walk the bank anyway I think the drum are tons of fun to catch!! 1 of the three was a giant...at least the biggest I ever caught Prolly 6 or 8# the other 2 were smaller.

I caught a musky this year on a crappie jig no less!! Granted...ive probably put 100,000 casts into the lake it came from...and it was only like 15 inches long, but hey...it counts! Unfortunately for me, fishing all day for just a few bites isnt all that uncommon, and im one of the few people with the patience to fish all day for a bite, as long as I feel there is a chance at getting the bite im looking for. I actually "targeted" walleye this year on TR for a total of probably 6 hours, and caught 2....I was totally happy that I set out to catch a walleye and I did.

I agree with all of this, I have my best luck with bandit 200 and 300 series, and also flicker shads. Granted I suck at river fishing, and dont do it very often, but ive found my best luck with the deep divers coming because they hit the bottom even when cast upstream. Seems like most on here talk about casting downstream, yet all of my bites come when i cast up stream and the bait is swimming downtstream with the current. The deep bill allows the bait to hit the bottom even when its moving with the current. This is an interesting thread, just one more overlooked technique.

Eh, I like the challenge of targeting a particular species. Occasionally you will score and people will be like "i didnt even know those were in there!" Some people actually fish for muskies in missouri...talk about few and far between! Plus, as Mr. Hufferd noted, youll catch plenty of incidental bass at table rock no matter what your doing to keep you interested.

Thanks for the report! Not a bad day at all!! I was hoping to get a boat before the shut her down for the winter missed my chance! Dang!

hahaha I didn't notice that til I read this comment now I can't stop laughing.

Would you mind sharing how your fishing the spoon? WHen i was there (dead of summer) we were catching them right off the bottom, it was almost as if they were eating the spoon as it layed on the bottom. The only walleye i could muster up came trolling cranks, and we only caught 2.
-
Excellent results on the walleye! Much more consistent luck than what ive had when i targeted them there. I did quite well this summer with the jigging spoon but only caught spots, no walleye. I love to see great results with the jigging spoon, i think they are a bit under rated.

Was that down by emmenegar park? I was down there yesterday and walked the bank for a few hours. I seem to have the best luck walking down under 44 along the Rick ledge. Was there from 7-9. Caught 3 drum..2 on a bandit and 1 on a jigging spoon. Lost several spoons and jigs and that crank...river fishing from the bank is highly frustrating. I'm always happy to just not get skunked I head to the river as I suck at river fishing lol.

kinda what he said....Ya know, part of an experiment to determine the maximum potential of smalmouth in Missouri by sanctioning off a small section of good big fish water, would be protecting that section from illegal harvest through strict enforcement. Collect data for 5 years....realize illegal harvest is not the reason why Missouri doesn't have consistently giant smallies. Keep regs the same and continue catching the same size smallies that the Ozarks produces. The hate for the mdc is just and excuse for lots of 14 inch fish and an inability to consistently catch 4lb fish. Just like on table rock it's the meat fisherman. Ya see some bass with gig marks and that's what gets the blame. Beaver lake it's the stripers. It's definitely NOT the fisherman though. Let's all just buy some more expensive jerk baits that will solve the problem.

this depends on the lake. You can drop a spoon to the bottom of Stockton in 50 fow and hits a hard bottom and comes up clean. The lakes by me...your correct. Also don't forget that a large amount of decomposition takes place at the bottom from bacteria which slows the accumulation of the silt by turning it to co2.

Following this thread the whole time you can watch all the twists and turns. But if you read the very first sentence of this thread the read the last post 72 comments later it's hard not to lol.

They are def in there, but dont expect to have a numbers day like you will on stockton. Youd be hard pressed to catch a limit. Do what RPS says.

With eyes the size of trash can lids!
-
Wow man you catch a lot of big bass! Nice work!
-
correct!!! If I had to guess I'd say this Mr Watson fella is one of, if not the best topwater bass fisherman in the world. He would do better with an old beer can tied on than most folks with a 50 dollar lure.
