  1. The strollers like almost every other swimming bait has no movement on the fall. And very little at a slow retrieve. I like the slabalicous from strike king. A bit softer plastic. The absolute best are the 2" swing impact from keitech. If you run em on a 64th oz jig the tail goes crazy in the fall. In fact the tail wags even when the bait is just sitting still. They are way fragile but they work wgen nothing else will. No collared jigs and loctite superglue will get you multiple fish per bait. If the tail falls off fish them like a baby shad. They work as well.
  2. lol that would be a great day of walleye fishing for me.
  3. In two years all of your soft plastics are gonna be toys called "fishin baits!". Completely unorganized and strewn about the house. Good luck. Cute outfit.
  4. Wow! id like to know the details behind that fish!
  5. Your right....however, separation of two dissimilar liquids will happen with any fuel, unless its 100% alkanes. Gas is a mixture of all sorts of organic crap of varying molecular weights and polarities, in addition it has some % of water. Added ethanol is just one more thing to separate out. Heres how to fix it, dont let gas sit out in the elements for months and months at a time. Dont let it sit in the cylinders and carbs and fuel lines....clean/burn that ish out. Ethanol isnt bad for 2 stroke motors....sitting in your garage for 9 months is bad for them. 2 stroke engines need to be used and ran or stored properly.
  6. Do as you please man....you dropped all that money on a merc 250, so if it makes you feel a little better about your outrageously priced outboard drive all over to find urself some "clean" gas. In the meantime my 1998 mariner and my 2002 tacoma (which have always been ran on ethanol fuel with no problems) are going fishing. ALso...if you wanna "delve into the chemistry" pm me and ill discuss it further with you....you can hear it from an actual chemist. Ever think that Mercury is a little unsure of a 250hp outboard? Hence the "dont use ethanol to save our butt" warning.
  7. My truck and everyone elses car works just fine on ethanol added fuel. Its no more aggressive than any other organic solvent you run through there (in fact less so). Ethanol causing harm is a giant myth. If you spend 50 grand on a brand new outboard....its built to run on ethanol fuel. Ethanol is a liquid carbon fuel source, it burns like all the others. (FYI....look up all the ethers, ketones, chlorinated solvents, acetates and other solvents that are in stabil/sea foam....they are all MUCH more aggresive than ethanol.)
  8. Lol it is crazy the sheer strength that a house cat possesses when its panicked. A cat once was spooked and climbed me like a tree and latched onto my face. I still have a scar in my lip. Its really incredible how powerful a 10lb cat is. I cant even imagine the fury of a 150lb one. That said they are cool creatures and even if there were more in missouri itd be extremely unlikely to have a violent encounter with one. Im more concerned about being brutally killed in a ball of twisted metal glass and fire on my way to work this morning.
  9. This makes me very happy!! Great report, I need to get my boat fixed asap.
  10. Ive caught lots of fish that were 5+ pounds at the boat....yet after removing all the milfoil shrank down to 12 inches, amazing how they do that!
  11. The white river lakes are freakishly clear sometimes its almost eery seeing the bottom in 20+ fow. I think your jigs work great, i pull keitechs behind them, but for crappie i find myself using a 1/64th no collar ball head.
  12. Speaking of which.....dtrs if you made those heads in 1/32 or even 1/64 oz id buy hundreds of them.
  13. A wacky worm is great in that scenario or Any plastic fished weightless. Just dont retrieve the bait, almost all ur bites will happen on the initial fall. If nothing in 20 sec. Shake and wait 20 more second. Reel in and clean off the snot. Just use as little weight as you can get away with.
  14. More and more people using the same finite resource. More and more money to be made on the prime real estate around the lake. The branson explosion. Unfortunately the mung isnt going anywhere it will probably just get worse. I dont ever fish Loz but is it terrible there too? The good news is fish seem to do alright in that crap. Lots of shallow urban lakes are full of it yet loaded with largemouth.
  15. Agree with I class totally.....I fish at Busch wildlife all the time. Its a way overfished collection of small littered ponds. Anyhoo....I once watched a small bass eat/swallow a random senko bait just sitting there for who knows how long. Swam up in 6 inches of waterand ate it. I bet that happens all the time with old plastics which never decompose just sitting on the bottom. I bet its as bad or worse that gut hooks.
  16. Those keitech swimbaits are about the most versatile fish catching lure ive found....definately one of my go to baits. Just the other day I caught a 4lb largmouth on the two inch version while crappie fishing. Caught a musky, a few hybrids, a million crappie and bass and perch...those lures are my new favorite.
  17. As a proud st louisan i absolutely cut people off on the water....thats how you know if its a good spawning cove...there will be 10 boats. The trick is to go in about half throttle to kick up all the wake possible...then talk on the cell phone loudly as you pull between them and the bank. They clear out pretty quick and you get the whole cove to yourself hahahahaha.
  18. They def outfish any other crappie jig on the waters that i fish....but they are really heavily pressured and have seen about every crappie jig made. The tails fall off too easily too, but man they really work.
  19. Anyone ever use keitech swing impact 2 inch dor crappie? I find that no other swimmin minnow swims at slow speeds like those. The only problem is the two inchers dont come in many colors and they are all natural. I do best with the bluegill color tipped with a nibble in dirty water and by itself ib clear.
  20. about 20 yards out from the jetty closest to the dam. Came out of a brush pile. I released him quickly and unharmed..he swam off.
  21. Caught this one yesterday morning on a swimmin minnow while crappie fishing. That was a first for me! Have seen a few crappie in that lake with large scars on them.
  22. Follow the table rock thread. The lakes are pretty similar....should be able to get on a decent pattern from their info. Theres tons of it lol
  23. my first trolling experience was from my dad and grampa trolling hellbenders and bombers on three way rigs with nungesser spoons. Still have an old tackle box full of my grampas old "custom" painted ones. They sure do work!
  24. I dont think its the rods....lol ur a fishing guide and know that lake better than anyone. Youd catch more fish on an ugly stick than most would on a loomis. Im sure falcon appreciates it though!
  25. Better throw all my rods away and get all falcon stuff!
