  1. I am wondering about how it got there. That is my concern.
  2. Did it have any structureal damage.i ask because you said it was partly sunk.
  3. If you love the fishing enough you will still be going when you should not be. Wow 59 yrs old. I sure wish I was even 69 yrs old. I will be 77 in about a month.
  4. There is what I call the three R's of fishing. In the following order. Right place Right time and Right way. That is about all you will ever hear from me the rest is up to the individual. Mr Babler, I do not just fish down the bank either but If I fished Table Rock I might. But if I did i just might do that as a exploritiry thing because I do not know anything about Table Rock. Up here I will fish down to a bank just because it check because it is not suppose to be any good. I have found sometimes people are wrong. I currently have one that is a over 1/4 mile long. Hardly ever see anyone fishing the area. And when I do they are usually they are there at the wrong time doing it the wrong way. There are bass all over any lake. Some just behave differently because of enviormental influances. So I would advise anyone strange or new to a lake to do some fishing down the bank if the alleged hot spots are notvpayong off.
  5. I can tell you another one that triggers them as much as anything else. That is the length of day.
  6. Assuming you are discussing little Miss America here Hmmmmmm ??? As far as the oldest one goes. She is way to smart for both of us. Besides that our manner of dress is not up to standards either.
  7. I pay $60 a month just for sewers on LOZ. That is something for you all to take into consideration when lookiing for something on a lake somewhere. You buy something out here where they are aggresively trying to get sewers installed you might be in for a surprise. Sewer installation is mandantory and so are the monthly payments no matter if you live here full time or not.
  8. What do you people pay a month for sewers up there.

  10. There is no such law Warthrat. you got a right to go anywhere on LOZ on the waters of the lake. I cannot imagine anyone ever bothering you for that. i will not tolerate people harrassing fishermen. There are some real jerks that own docks down here but thank god they are for and few between. One guy rigged a sprinkler on the top of his dock and would turn it on when he caught you out there. You remember him Wrench. He nad a big sign up there as well demending that you not fish the dock. He got a visit from both the Power company and MDC. Told him remove the sign and the speinkler are they would haul the dock away. There was another one something like that in north buck creek at one time. He would come down amd make remarks about go fish somewher else.I would just stand there and flip a jig in the water right at jis feet. That is the only two I have confronted. We have a new resident here though from out of state that may not understand that yet. I got dirty looks fishing there. So I just made it a habit. I pulled 2 nice bass off tht dock last summer right in front of them. May not make for good relations but I do not give a good flying rats a--.
  11. It does not impact at all. Docks sit on the waters of the lake of the ozarks by the permission of Armens. In short if you pull your boat into empty stall and stay in it your not on the owners property. Armens says water of your dock is under your control they do not say it is yours. I believe that is for there protection. Wrench ..... I think it is rediculous. The docks are still private property no matter. It changes nothing . Just maybe the real reason is to get the docks taxed as real estate. That would amount to a tax increase for most people.
  12. I own a 32x32 ft 2 stall dock. i do not think this sort of legislation should even be brought up. It is not helpful at all. Further I really got to wonder. The guy submitting the legislation was not very thoughtful in his bill construction. Everything below the take line on LOZ belongs to Armens. Many docks including the ramps and cables are below the take line and therefore not connected to the person property. Also he states a "public waterway." I myself do not know if a privately owned water way is defined as a Public waterway. It would seem a arrogant display by dock owners to have no tresspaaing signs set up all over the place. To top it off your going to have things stolen 99% of the time at night. Some of us have day/night cameras off the dock that will catch and record anything going on down there 24 hrs a day. I can check my dock anytime I want through a computer anywhere I am. Many of us do not dislay warning msg either on the dock. My object is to catch a thief. Not scare him away.
  13. I am not going to get into this conversation. The picking on the under class is domething that turns me into a dangerous person.
  14. Since your just getting started. I know it can be expensive. I cast and tie my own jigs. I know  a couple things that might help you save a bit of money.

I buy my thread at JoAnns sewing shop. They sell a exterior apholstery thread that is pure Nylon and very strong. It comes on larger spools. I just wrap it from them to my smaller spools  . Only trouble is it comes in only black if the color is a problem.

Other  thing is Hobby Lobby sells a glue called Fusion. It can be rhineed with water but dries water proof. I hve it in two different bottles. One thinned and one full strength. I used the rhinned stuff to apply and too my wrappings as I am doing it. Then I over coat  the final with full strength.  The stuff is about 10 bucks for  2 zo bottle but is really good stuff.

sweet thanks!  I have a joann and a hobby lobby right near my house!

  15. Intelligence does not mean anything but attitude sure does. If you have the wrong attitude you will use your intelligence in the wrong way. i think that is whatvwe do mostly in this country.
  16. The news media is dead sent on reporting every word then interperting and applying there own version of the incident.
  17. Flysmallie...... Bet you seen the damage adult ones can do to the front end of a car if they get startled and jump high. iT is usually a lot of damage.
  18. Now 80 cents a poind sounds interesting. During the depression they called Amidillo Hoover Pork. We seem to have gotten the upperhand on thm in my neighborhood. Only shot two last year. But I cannot remember how many I shot over the past few years. i just love my 410 slug for that.
  19. BOY if that is not just like then those things multiply like squirrels. Never heard of any problem around LOZ but if there is I will shoot them on sight. i went to a garden meeting one time a year are so ago and MDc was telling folks we could not shoot Armadillos because they were wildlife and we were not authorized to harm them. While that is true because of the way the law is written. I know people that shoot them as fast as they can find them. I wonder what people in st louis are going to do when the armadillos or hogs show up in their yards. The Armadillos allready have I am sure. My son travels all over that area daily and sees them as road kill especially in the southern areas.
  20. I can understand the use of a leader on a fly rod. On other than that I do not believe there is a reason for it. Fish know there is something on the end of that lure because lure movement, reeling ,dragging over something makes vibrations they can sense. You yourself can feel them all the way up to the rod most of the time. This stuff about OMG they can see line is hodwash. Sure they Know its there. It is not what your line is doing that interest them it is what the lure is doing at the end. Every time this conversation comes up it also includes line strength and what one is the strongest. I use Pro Bass mono. Cannot remember the last time I had a fish break off. 99% of the breakoffs come from bad knots and abrasion. Then there is the stuff of Trying to horse a fish in. While that usually results in a pull off it can also come from line failure.

    Jerk baits

You do they don't. Guys around here use the old Rogues year after year. Some might be modified in some way or another but they are still the old Rogue
  22. go to your local wallmart you can find them under $100. They will tell you everything youbbeed to know. Except side scanning.
  23. They are way behind on the annual drawdown that they are required to make to winter pool because of the flood here and at Truman. I imagine whencthey get thru flushing out Truman we will be going down pretty fast to winter pool.
  24. Wrench----- They are real good hunting places and these guys just messed up talking about it. Some might never flood but I don't think so. The deer swim back and firth between the islands and fivef bottoms using sloughs.
