Marcus just remember. There s a lot in labor charges. Somebdy has to pay the bills incured in running the bussiness. Plud support themselves. parts charges are something else. they are all blwn out proportion that applies to anything, boats, cars and wbout anything else. -
I would not let it stop me.. I have not been out in the boat all week but I have been catching some bass bass shorts plus a few 10 crappie on a 3 1/2 to 4 inch swim baits in the evenings. I get a lot of nips with that swim bait so I feel sure there sre plenty of crappoe there.

Well yes we do. I think I skip better with my 7 ft spinning rod and 20lb braid anyway

Mideast Part of the State Flooding Too.

Not the county north of Springfield. There must have been 50 out picking up trash and road kill along 44 yesterday. We could see ff into the distance and there was this one group all lined up policing the side of the highway. Then I noticed this other dude was standing about 30 ft in back of them along the edge of the woods. I thought we was aboit to see a guinine escape. The giard was up in the van in front of a big trailor (if there even was a guard. I never seen a armed guard all day and they were still workimg when we came back the other way -
Sorrh Mitch but I am getting to old for skipping with bait casting. I just do not to seem to have the delecate touch in the thumb anymore so I am one of the spinning rod folks now.

well there is more rain on the way plus another day. -
In spite of it all fosh are showing a inclanation to bite. I got two shorts 13-14," long in about 6- 7 cast pff the dock yeasterday evening. Got 5 ctappie (one keeper) this evening. they are scatered all over the place from in back the dock to way off out on the middle of nowhere. Two were very shallow over water about 25 ft. Tis the tome and conditions for that sort of marlarky. Water is clear to about 6 inches.

Personally I am hpy woth thos as far as LOZ goes. I would rather fosh in thos at this time of the year than a long period of no rain on this lake. -

Getting out on a stream in this kind of stuff is why some idiots doe every year. -
Today it is the water its the air you gotvto worry about. i do not know hpw fast that wond os moving but ot has got to be well over 20 mph. there are 2 ft high white caps and waves conig down Mill Creek Cove. Its only 46 on top of that.

I am midway down the Gravois at the mouth of Mill Creek. From my observance at 10am and noon it was rising about 2" a hour. we went shopping and got home and it had fell back a couple inches. So maybe were cresting out here. A lot depends pn the flood gates and what happens all the way down to St Louis. The combination of Truman and LOZ can cause some real flood damage to St Charles. It has happened before. So if that becomes a posability they will be forced to shut the flood gate at least more and we will start to rise again.

TrophyFishR I have a notion that some of the pros will fish shallow in buck brush with jigs. You can about be assured if you see the Hibdon's down there they will be pitching and skipping jigs into the buck brush at least part of the time. Sometimes that situation creats a big feeding spree. Bait fish will go in there for all the bugs and worms etc the situation creates and the bass follow.

That bed fshing is something I do not condone and never will. They do not have to move them.!! Even befpre the stuggle of landing the fish is done many small bluegill have already swarmed into the bed and destroyed it. I am just thankful the tournament fishermen and others cannot find or see most of the beds on LOZ. Maybe that has something to do with our bass population. Most weekend foshermen have this idea that all the bass run to shallow bedding areas when the water is around 65 degrees and spawn. That is what they been told. It just aint so.

BFERG..... Management is good if done properly and the results are truly reprted rather than pressured by some outside group. Then there is INFORCEMENT. As far as I am concerned there is vertially none. I have lived her on the banks of LOZ for well over 20 years and have only seen agents out not more than three times. In the same time period I have seen uncountable voilations. I often see Summer people keeping crappoe no bigger than my hand as well as small bass we refer to as dinks. .

The MDC does not really manage a thing other than how they are told to by there superiors. Who are told to to do by there superiors. Who are told to by the politician. Who are told by special interest with money to influance everything.

I have a notion bass improvise and adapt way past what we think. I got to think the lights greatest value is raising the temperature in the selected spawing site. Bass on LOZ will spawn in near total darkness under docks, They will spawn in odd places at odd times as well. When I had a home on North Shore there was a somewhat regular spawing site on what appeared to be a round metal plate about 5ft deep along the side of my dock. There is a lot of truth about bass spawing where and when. But it certainly is not the whole truth.

Well that os what it has come to. Everywhere fishing is being pushed along with the higher prices for doing it. Fishing has become big business. Those you are fishing for human fish are finding it very easy to hook a limit all the time.
-
I go along with the abuse type actions even if you do not suspect your doing it. Those handles or cast and I have always been concerned that they might be fragile.

I believe it is all about panic. When my son was about 6 yrs old I used take him carp fishing with a light rod and 4 lb test line. Those carp taught him well. I am grateful to them. I wanted him to learn to keep his cool and not pressure them. All you can do is the best you can and except some are going to get off no matter matter what you do. It never bothers me anymore. I remembef a time a few years back I hooked this really big bass next to a swim dock. There was a older lady sitting out there about half asleep sunning herself in a lawn chair. The bass jumped right next to the dock where she was sitting making a big splash. Scared the devil out of the lady and she turned over her lawn chair. That woman made it very clear to me the whole thing was my smast a-- behavior and there was no bass.

Well the gravois has been anything but enyoyable fishing this past week. Bu it might change with the rain are get a lot worse.

I use 20 lb braid to fish wacky worms and several other lures on a 7 ft apinning rod. The reason is I want strength and small dia when skipping around docks. The Pro Braid bramd takes about as much 10 or 12 lb mono over cables. Spider wire braid on the other hand has proven itself to be junk in that application. I also use 10 lb braid on both my crappie outfits.

I know nothing about motors but do know a tiny bit about fuel from experience. You said it was in the shop for a month what grade fuel was in that tank during that period and the line leading to the tank.
