Beware of the battery drain with the Garmin Livescope etc.
Travis Swift replied to bobby b.'s topic in Table Rock Lake
I bought a 14.7 volt 19amp hour. Both the battery and black Box fit in my rodbox The battery comes with the charger. I'm running the livescope and a 93sv off of it and ran 12 hours last week and never even dropped to 12volts. Had plenty of juice left. Weighs about a pound which really is helpful with my tracker -

I bought an Amped Outdoords Lithium to run my scope and graph that fits in the palm of my hand. Will run it all day no issues and leaves my cranker to do what it's supposed to do. I know alot of guys running Dewalt batteries for their scopes now as well. -
welcome back my friend

DJ hasn't been on here since Jan 8th. Anyone heard from him and know if he's okay? He's like me, a hound on here every day so that's concerning. Travis

Lilley's Lake Taneycomo Fishing Report, April 1
Travis Swift replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
I have a friend that owns a resort down past the landing and he said there was a ton of shad coming by all the way down there as well. And I wish they would lose the darn boga grips but that's another story for another day. Beautiful fish though, wish I was there. -
Glad your back and feeling good Bill. Hope you have a great spring season

I live 20 mins from there, it's small but an awesome little store. The entire top wall around the entire store has about every Do It Mold ever made. Don't expect a megasized store, it's tiny but they jam alot on there. They are loaded up pretty good with lure making supplies. Best of all, they are just really good people in there. Do yourself a favor and time it where you can get some DooDah Diner breakfast or lunch which isn't very far away.

Another hunt with my favorite partner.
Travis Swift replied to BilletHead's topic in Migratory Birds
Just getting back into waterfowl here in kansas this year. I still love to bow hunt deer but i'm falling in love with the waterfowl. It's not the birds that have me so pumped it's the friendships. It's nice to not have to worry about smell, sound etc. We laugh, visit, drink coffee, even made breakfast burrito's one morning. The social aspect is what i'm really digging......i do like the hunting and shooting part to though -
Just dinking around at the vice.

Good report. Seth on here won and he's worked really hard at it the last few years so a big Congrats to him on getting the W, well deserved!

Your spot on with that last post my friend. Makes me sick thinking about it 😂

This thread has made me look like an posterior and I apologize to Bill, Marty and all of you. I'm probably the nicest guy you've never met. I just got butt hurt because my very favorite spot on the lake got actually named so it fired me up. Hope you all understand my situation and accept my apology. Love my fellow OAF'ers. Travis Lesson learned 😂

Thanks for not yelling at me Bill I've fished bass my whole life in Kansas, Texas, Mexico, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas and these lower lake bass are the absolute toughest to figure out that I have ever fished. They move day to day sometimes hour to hour and you can't hardly pattern them. I finally think I've "cracked the code" after alot of work and effort so I got my hackles up a little... Well alot actually 😂😂

I don't mind if a guy goes somewhere and catches them himself and wants to brag makes a post that's one thing. I get my panties in a wad when it's hear say info and can really hurt what guys have been working on piecing together for years and hurt a small fishery as well. I have a friend that lives down lake that has seen more bass boats ripping down the lake in the last week since this post than he has all year combined, so yeah that will fire me up as well.
-
I love you Bill and have admired you but I wanna say this is a pretty fragile fishery that's not really big and it's long been a pretty good secret and I really hate for it to get out. There are bass in taney yes, they are tough to find and can be rewarding yes. I know several guys that work there arses off of locate these fish every year and out of respect for them I wish we could just delete this thread and let people figure things out on there own. There are plenty of bass lakes in the area and trout and other things to be shared and I don't feel like people need to have their hands held for this lake. I personally spend thousands of dollars a year to come down there and work HARD at figuring the lower lake out and it's taken years to do so and my favorite part about it is the peace and quiet of no crowds. That is as nice as I can put it and some things in this world need to be left unsaid and lower Taney detailed reports are one of them.
-
This is a loaded question as it ALL depends on the amount of water being released and the lake level. There are times you can't get there even, there are times you can hammer down right up the middle of the lake etc. Stop by Phils and politely ask for guidance and they will assist and there are also maps pinned on here that help some also.

I drag the jerkbait on 4 and the scud egg combo on 2. No ill intent meant at all. Just was sharing a trick that worked for me this year is all. One other thing is, guys that don't fish as much as you or me or others may not be able to tie a knot as good with light line and this trick only leaves one knot instead of three so it cuts down some on that part. Again not arguing at all, especially with you just was adding to the discussion. Happy new year Sir.
-
I used them pretty successfully with 4pound and 2 pound both on Taney this year, both with dragging jerkbaits and even dragging eggs and scuds. But to each their own, Merry Christmas.
-
Bill try ome of the rubber/clear Carolina keepers in place of the swivel. Only gotta tie one knot that way instead of 3.

Heading out to fish tonight and tomorrow night.

True story right there -

I'm still trying but that's good to know 😂

Got here Saturday but didn't fish till Sunday. I'm down lake past the landing but wanted to let anyone know that's coming that MDC stocked off of their ramp on Tuesday morning. I grabbed my 9 year old and let her catch about 20 real quick like before spreading the word. So there should be plenty of fish in that landing area. I've not trout fished at all this trip, decided I was going to bass fish for a big one and just be away from other boats and people and enjoy the peace and quiet. I was lucky yesterday to get just what I was looking for with a 7 pound 5 ounce trout eater!
