i think the runs begin in Jaunuary when they first start running up the creeks/rivers, A guy can follow them as they slowly move up the channel edges towards the backs, but they usually don't spawn until April. An influx of warm water will speed things up sometimes and they will move to the shoaling grounds earlier than usual. On Bull right now they are stacked in the backs and on a feeding frenzy. All sizes

they flat out catch bass, I've had the best luck with them in and around cover. had to wait a while to get them though, think it was almost 2 weeks after I ordered off ebay

Wt 51.2 + You'd better get out there it's been pretty darn good! Lots of 5+lb lmb are being caught fairly shallow all over the lake it seems, and some really big smallmouth are moving up too! It's been taking 17-21lbs to win the T's. I have caught a few 18+ lb bags this month too. A rigs, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits , and cranks have been working great this week. Walleye I believe have been feeding heavily on spawning yellow perch for the last week or 2 and both are being caught in 5-15' on points in coves. The fresh rain water has the white bass moving and they are growing in numbers in the backs of Northern creeks where they should be this time of year and are biting the usual white bass stuff.Crappie can be caught from 2-6fow around wood with minnows under a bobber. I won;t be posting as many reports now since I went back to work on the 1st. I will post if/when I get out there or if I hear something worthy of sharing I fished a couple hours after work yesterday and caught some really fat kentuckies on a prototype homemade lure thingy, lol. They were on pea gravel in 10fow

Quillback I agree. Have the HD and the R on the Ballistic rods for pitchin and flippin . The first few guides on the rods are positioned at the same height as the T wing on the reel eliminating any downward angles which I really like.

Guys I'm seeing the same thing on Bull Shoals. Lots of diving gulls and bait on the surface. Catching some keeper walleye and fat bass in those places with a susp. jerkbait and homemade underspin . I would bet there are plenty of predators around those shad on TR. The deal for me is I have to be there when they all decide to munch. I fished the same cove for 6 1/2 hours last Friday. Went a few hours without much action then when they finally turned on late in the day caught about 30 off the same point that I'd been fishing all afternoon. When the WT is still in the 40's I seem to have the best luck picking an area loaded with birds and bait and just staying put until something happens. It can really play with your head seeing these fish on the screen for hours and they just won't bite until they are ready. I've not seen any signs of a shad kill on Bull.

659.22 WT 46.6-47.1 11:30am -6pm Another pretty good day on Bull Shoals! Drove around until I saw gulls. When I found them I picked the closest point and started fishing. It started off really slow. The gulls were not very active either. It was about an hour before my first bite came on a painted x-rap . It was an awesome day weather wise! The Loons were calling, turkey were gobbling, even saw a bald eagle. The next bite was about an hour after the first. It was a lmb measuring 17 1/4" , she bit the custom x-rap. Then it got a lot tougher. Went the next 2 hours without a bite , but I kept fishing that point back and forth over and over again the whole day, never left. I could see these bass on the screen, so why leave. My boat is small and stealthy. Most of the time I can get close to the fish without spooking them. Even when they are just a few feet under the boat. Confidence and patience prevailed. Finally around 3:45 the bite really started to pick up. The gulls became active and they were diving on shad all around me. The bass started chasing shad to the surface ,were boiling all over this point, and they started eating the x-rap. I caught 5 more keeper largemouth but they were small keepers. When the x-rap bite got slow I put that rod down and picked up one that had a homemade underspin tied on it and they just hammered it! A bunch of short largemouth and 5 small keeper kentuckies. Also caught 4 walleye, 2 were keepers. Had around 25 fish on the underspin. Threw them all back

depends on who maintains/moves them, usually yes you can back in beside them if the dock guy puts them in the right spot on the ramp. also depends on water level if they are usable. some courtesy docks are still underwater

neat, but too rich for my blood . Can make them for less. I use them on lipless cranks and topwater prop plugs swivel shaft wire treble hook heat shrink tube split ring blade

Ham I never caught much of anything with them either until one day I figured something out and now I can catch fish with them. They work for me when bass are biting in 5' or less. I don't recall ever catching a bass on a STX in water deeper than 5-6'. sounds crazy but that's been my experience with them.
