Gone To Lunch -
the wind has kept me off the lake today, my small boat can't do it might have to beat the bank on foot if I go
-
...if you've ever slept in your truck at the ramp for 6 straight nights ...if you have no idea how many logo's are on your jersey ...if you've ever paid $500 to fill up your boat on the lake .....if you send Tackle Warehouse a Christmas card every year

i just don't see how anything from bass pro and tracker boats could improve things at Ranger.. I think it would be the other way around jmo
-
o2bnMO, I have fished Taneycomo several times out of an 8' inflatable boat with just a trolling mtor, but I usually fish around the lower Empire Park area and not on weekends. I've seen kayaks there too so..... Good luck
-
if only they (Blakemore)would take the time to pick the paint off the swivels so they spin right out of the pack, I hate that

don't you "know" a dude who makes custom lures? maybe he could come up with something you like?? I hear he's looking for another winter project......
-
dang, I have no other choice but to paint outside on calm warm days, and those days are quickly coming to an end. so why y'all are painting indoors this winter when it's freezing outside, I'll be making buzzbaits and other stuff until next spring. I remember there were several pages of good info. about painting lures in the general angling forum section not so long ago. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/topic/47885-custom-painting-lures/?page=1

"gauges" who's gonna watch these gauges so nobody steals them? better make sure no one sees you doing this Ben then there's the fact that once they are installed thieves will know where they are so they can look for them and take them .. JS mean people suck, better hide them good

WT 56-58.6 pontiac/spring creek areas fairly clear WOW ,what a fog bank this morning! Probably the thickest fog I've seen on Bull this year. Hung around and drank some coffee at the launch for 2 hours until almost 10:30 before the fog lifted. I heard a few boats running out there in that dense fog while I was waiting. I thinks that's crazy! So, with a good coffee buzz going I launched and first tried some cove banks and secondary points nearby with a tube, ned rig , and jig in 5-25fow looking for bass. Nothing going there in the cove except a bunch of warmouth perch on the Ned.. Moved out of the coves closer to channels and that's where I stayed the rest of the day, and so did the 4 Loons fishing in the same area. The bite was slow for me, but the weather was perfect for what I wanted to try. I followed the schools around with the electronics as they moved, and boy where they on the go. Used various spoons. The spoon would either get bit by a keeper on the first drop or they ALL would swim away I'd have to chase them down again. I covered acres of water trying to keep up with these schools of bass. Found myself going in circles along with the schools of bass. Almost like they were swimming laps around the lake, lol. Funny thing is I never saw 1 ball of shad, and none of the bass I caught spit up any shad. They were all legal fish though, smallies and spots. Just keepers, no big one's . Didn't catch any largemouth , or any short bass. Bite got really tough around 3pm so I quit around 3:30ish. Wound up with 12 keepers, 6 smallies, 6 spots in 5hrs of fishing.. All released. here's what I found ....ALL of the bass bites came in 35-45fow. on or near bottom. They were holding near the bottom, and adjacent to the channel early in the day. By 3pm they had moved even deeper to 70+ fow ,and were now suspending over/in the channel at the 35-50 ft zone, and wouldn't bite anything I had with me. I think the best bite was early because of the high sky and no wind, and I had just missed the peak feeding time. This screen shot of a school of bass was taken earlier in the day around noon. This pretty 15" golden sm bass came from that school on a spoon.

Putting together a plan based on weather forecast ?
Fish24/7 replied to gitnby's topic in Table Rock Lake
i use a wart more in the fall than any other time of the year. I had a few old one's and i repainted them MO craw just for fall fishing. -
fishinwrench, damiki slim jack MAX depth 16" have you slow rolled a blade around that hump ? use the same lift and drop retrieve as the lipless also you could cut just the front hook off the front treble of your lipless to reduce snags have you tried a smaller or larger version of the lipless?

-
now is this a common sighting and typical behavior for scuds? trout must love those little morsels! i usually make 2 trips a year to Taneycomo, never knew much about them, first time seeing some
-
whenever I see that , 5" swimbaits and big flutter spoons if the wind/weather allows it. today i didn't see any huge schools, the shad were scattered, saw gizzard activity all morning. saw a group of about 15 sea gulls too
-
Ham, for me it's more about the time of year rather than the water temp. It's after bass get to wintering areas the susp. stickers come out of storage.. For me that usually starts late Dec. WT is usually 40's January = J for jerk baits
-
aarchdale@coresleep, I caught some black bass and whites with crank baits today. The smaller profile baits worked well. your report is just what I found too, (except for the wind),and it seems a lot of fish are going through transition again. thanks for reporting
