  1. You guys are all crazy. Big swimbaits don't work
  2. Great work my friend!!!!!
  3. Looks like ya'll had an excellent time!
  4. I worked at Ebbet's in college!
  5. Check out Arris Pizza on Republic sometime. Its fantastic. Also, Maria's downtown is pretty good for Mexican food thats a little different
  6. I can promise you there are no bass in Taneycomo so don't waste your time. Carry on
  7. Doesn't want a boat parked next to the rooms? No external power? What sort of place is this? Maybe they are hosting a nudist convention that weekend don't think ya'll would mesh well... (only reason I can think they would decline perfectly good cash)
  8. Was kinda sad to see that great bait destroyed, but I guess it was in the name of science lol I've thrown a RM on the Rock a bit, caught a couple but nothing crazy. They really are finely constructed baits but are super hot right now and fetching well over retail on the secondary market, and when retail is $110-400 (if you can even find one at a retailer) that is a lot of money. I will say Roman Made has had some paint issues which I find unacceptable on such an expensive bait but supposedly it has been fixed.
  9. I don't have a PQ so take this with a grain of salt, but I think getting it tuned and the bearings upgraded could easily make it perform like a much higher end reel. I have a Okuma Citrix I got cheap on ebay which was an "ok" reel but after getting the bearings upped to Boca Abec 7s it casts better than my 2 Helios and on par with my nicer Daiwas
  10. Haha exactly what happened to me
  11. Hmm I use P-line PF original in 20,25, and 30# for the majority of my swimbait fishing and haven't casted off a bait in a while and the last time was when I wasn't paying attention and got a backlash. I generally stick with the palomar 99% of the time but have been experimenting with the San Diego Jam with the pricier baits. My suggestion is practicing your casting technique, the sweet spot is somewhere in between a traditional cast and a lob if that makes sense. When I first started throwing these bigger lures I tossed some baits off but with time dialed in my cast to where it is a non issue. Until you get your confidence up I suggest you get a couple floating baits to use (much easier to retrieve when thrown off lol) A slammer and punker would do nicely As far as retying goes, no reason to do it every half hour. Just keep your eye out for any abrasions, like you would with any other lure. I personally do retie after almost every fish though (admittedly this is hard to do if there is a hot bite) As you mentioned, Big Game is a good line for this also
  12. Yea, its the Negotiator model in "oikawamesu" color. I've seen several videos/pics of him with that particular bait. I had a perch one a while back before they became a super hot commodity. Sold it thinking I could find something more shad or sucker like down the road, still kicking myself for doing that
  13. Thought if you guys hadn't seen this yet, you might enjoy it. Pretty good video. Brandon also mentions some experience he's had at Table Rock. Cool stuff. Enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptLJ4Z2sO0E I heart swimbaits
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if LC came out with a seperate bait with more of a shad profile
  15. You talking the Mattlures hardgill?
  16. Nice fish, your pup looks very interested in that last fish!
  17. x100. In the swimbait world the G2 Cracker may be small, but it gets smoked
  18. I like the finishes on the new LC gills and the price is dirt cheap, but there are a lot of other nice gill swimbaits on the market already.
  19. Yes, the market for the 250 is insane. A couple years ago you could buy them direct from Japan for $50-75. Now, they are about $189 retail in the US Market, sell out instantaneously, then end up on ebay for well over $300. A new version of the 250 (with supposedly amped up production) will be hitting the market in 2015, but like the new 175 version, the increased production won't make a difference and they will still sell out fast. I throw the 250 on a XH swimbait stick rated for 5-8oz, some guys use a heavier rod than that. The Mother, is just huge, but there are larger. Also another hard one to find. Apparently Tackle Warehouse has a $20,000 backorder log on Roman Mades. If anybody is interested in swimbaits I encourage you to visit swimbaitunderground.com
  20. 15-17# is perfect for small to mid size swimbaits. With the glides (ie S waver) you'll get a much wider and fluid glide with lighter line. Just pray you don't get hooked on swimbaits, otherwise kiss your wallet goodbye
  21. I hope he got put back in the water safe and sound
  22. Trey Harpel of TH Kustoms does a good job and hes located here in Missouri Also, Pizz Customs out of California does good work
