  1. 5 star report!
  2. Just now catching up on this 22 page thread. Wow. I'm jealous. I think the reason this swap has worked so well is because I'm not in it. 😀
  3. If I had money, I tell you what I'd do, I'd go downtown and buy a Mercury or two, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury . . . .
  4. Yes - it is a book - "200 Missouri Smallmouth Adventures" by the late, great Chuck Tryon. And Brian - you made me look it up, but Hwy 185 goes over Fourche A Renault Creek, which becomes the MF after it meets up with Mine A Breton creek. No access at Hwy 185 that I'm aware of unless you are referring to CR 211. Never been there, and I've never floated above F. Probably the only time for dependable water floating is now -- or after a very recent rain. Pretty skinny water above F, and you're going to have a problem with access at F unless you move real fast. Wouldn't leave a car there.
  5. I love me some maps too. My office walls are pasted with them. I especially like the raised relief maps - but only have 3 of those (Rocky Mtn. National Park, Yosemite, and Smoky Mtns). Wish they made these for ONSR, or Buffalo River and some other places.
  6. If you got that kinda scratch laying around, you should just go ahead and buy 2. One to fish with and the other for yer museum.
  7. What model of drone did you get? I've been wanting to get one, just can't commit. Very cool shots.
  8. Awesome report. A 9-10 lb bass out of STL county lake?? Well done sir! Nice looking jigs too.
  9. Not without you. You're a better cook than Gavin anyway.
  10. I gotta fish with you dudes sometime. Fished with Ness and he's worthless and tippy as all hell in a canoe, but always entertaining.
  11. The US has its share of nut jobs, but not any more than any other major industrialized nation. So what is the difference? Duh. The super easy access to guns The evidence from health professionals is overwhelming. The statistics that you would think would correlate clinically diagnosed mentally ill persons to seek out and do these type of mass shootings -- the data just isn't there! Obviously it takes an individual with a few loose screws, but to say that they will be caught -- or to blame health professionals or law enforcement for not catching them and reporting them is going to be extremely difficult. Just like the Vegas shooter. Sure, there were warning signs with this Florida shooter - the adopted parents seem like extremely naive doofuses, but whatever. A 19 year old expelled student shouldn't be able to just stroll into Dicks and 15 minutes later walk out with an AR-15 or even a semi auto .22 rifle for that matter. We sure as hell won't allow him to buy a 6 pack of beer. This kid would have a heck of a lot more difficult time organizing a keg party! If I go to the DMV to license a car, gotta take the afternoon off and come in with about 5 different documents that got to be in perfect order.
  12. Good job Dicks. Now its Bass Pro/Cabela's turn. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/after-dick’s-only-one-major-retailer-is-still-selling-semi-automatic-rifles/ar-BBJHwJC?li=BBnbfcN
  13. I hate that expression. Sorry. I guess the "seriously, though" set you off.
  14. Seriously though - we got all these baffoons we call "lawmakers" and they can't even get that one pushed through.
  15. Good points. Regarding the TSA -- it was exactly 1 guy that attempted to put some kind of bomb in the sole of his shoe and failed in his attempt. And so now and to eternity, we all have to remove our shoes when going through. But ask for a bump stock to be banned and heaven forbid! I talked with my kids this weekend about the high school they go to, ~2,300 students. We talked about the sheer size of the building -- all the many different doors and ways and opportunities to get inside. Kids and parents coming and going. And that it is one of many thousands of schools in Missouri. Seems entirely impractical and unlikely that we'll ever have airport level of security at our schools.
  16. You're right. Lets lift the restrictions on fully automatic weapons. Don't stop there . . . lets bring back DDT, agent orange, lead in our paint, lawn darts, and about 400,000 other things. And hey, why not sarin gas? We need to be able to protect ourselves from the government and I'm not sold on that the fact that they've destroyed it all.
  17. Yes and Yes.
  18. Man I like brassieres and the vexing mysteries of their contents.
  19. What you got against Tom? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIhyQPixAsc
  20. Okay, yes - I'll admit my character as being maybe . . . not completely bankrupt -- lets just call it "overdrawn". And its true I've lived a charmed life. Never seen anyone shot, but i've had my fair share of scrapes and near misses. To the good --- I've had more panties thrown at me than Tom Jones. Sorry you've had to go through all that. Hope you can someday get the chance to be the Wild West hero. Maybe it'll be me that you save, and I'll surely be grateful. But until then, I'd kinda feel a whole lot safer there weren't so many you goofballs like you walking around cocked and locked.
  21. Your honor, I would like to present this as Exhibit A of the pandemic gun culture sweeping our nation. Cocked and locked! After reading this, does anyone else feel woefully underprepared for the next zombie attack that could strike at any moment?
  22. Oh please. Lets be honest - your AR15 collection has more to do with owning some pretty cool toys, than it does with family protection for that time when you never know, "When civil unrest strikes"
  23. With all due respect and apologies to Phil for the foul language, this pretty much encapsulates my view on the matter. https://agingmillennialengineer.com/2018/02/15/-you-i-like-guns-2/
  24. Evil Knievel was my hero.
  25. To summarize your post: Evil is out there and all us good guys, especially teachers, should be armed to kill it. Bad evil! Bad, bad Evil! Coming to a school near you -- EVIL! Its impossible to disarm. Why? because its so evil of course!
