  1. Lets get back to common ground here . . . can we all agree the woman has nice legs?
  2. I like that story. Gonna have to remember that one. Floated the Big Piney with the family last year and we were sitting there eating our lunch on a small gravel bar while the kids were swimming when some meth-heads floated down and pulled their kayaks right up on the same gravel bar and sat down to eat just 20 feet from us like we weren't even there. I think the girlfriend was just drunk, but the dude had these crazy wild eyes that looked like he had been up for 4 days. I wanted to go over and say to him, can't you eat on that gravel bar down there?? (about 200 yards away), but we just quickly finished our lunch and moved along.
  3. So you gave them a jump and you think it was the same folks who siphoned your tanks?
  4. Thanks for the report. Wished I coulda joined you guys.
  5. Oneshot, it don't sound like you're "happy with this". You go get that woman off her duff and tell her you miss her. If I ever found a woman that knew how to keep vehicles going and like cleaning meat and fish, and build porches and fire-fightin . . . well I got a pretty good one and wouldn't trade her in for a brand new Buick. . . . but you got a DANDY.
  6. I read something peculiar on another thread about plastics. What are those?
  7. She's got nice legs. Was there a fish in that video? The music had to muted, Mic, sorry, its almost as bad as something Mr. Wise would have on one of his videos.
  8. Yep too much lead, and lots of snakes, no bass at all.
  9. I'm convinced that weathermen can't predict squat beyond 3 to 4 days out, so to answer your question, yes I would have a back-up plan, but I wouldn't cancel on going to the JF until maybe 2-3 days ahead of time, especially if you have your heart set on it. It could end up being perfect.
  10. I wouldn't cancel this early. See what happens with rain down there in the next couple weeks, heck June 4-8 is over 2.5 weeks away. All's it would take to make any of it floatable is an inch or two of rain the day before.
  11. I would like to submit these 3 fish I caught out of the Bourbeuse yesterday, a 22, a 21, and a 23 incher. Didn't have an official tape measure with me but I'm 6'6 and weigh 230, so using a little interpolation and geometry/side-angle-side theorem, I came up with those measurements.
  12. Or park under the Hwy 63 bridge and fish right around there.
  13. Good ole Bob. Yeah, we used to watch him just to crack up. That big fro of his and the way he would he would whisper as he was painting, "whats this coming out of the clouds over here? oh yes, here it is, can you see it? its a flock of mallards, coming in to bathe in the cool waters". And the fan brush. Always with the fan brush. Bob loved that fan brush. His show was very very strange I thought. Seemed like the show was attempting to teach people to paint in a colors-by-numbers sort of way, and you can do this, too if you got some white slip-on dress shoes, black polyester pants, a fan brush and can whisper to yourself.
  14. You're killing me! Last I checked, Fellows Lake was Springfield's drinking water supply holding tank. Some of the water is even pumped in from Stockton Lake and held there. I don't think there are any plans to allow water skiing or swimming. Do they allow jet ski's -- I don't know. Them evil new marina owners are exploiting it and gonna be millun-aires! :secret-laugh:
  15. How long have you been going out there Bill? I remember going out there quite often in the late 70s and 80s and it could get crowded on nice weekends. Sailboats, canoes, lines of boats putting in at the ramp, and yes, folks bank fishing in one spot all day. Whats wrong with that? Its 5 minutes from a population of 300,000 people. The marina has been there a long time and it sounds like they're just giving it a fresh coat of paint and replacing a few old boats. I hardly think thats going to start a stampede of folks heading out there. P.S. -- If a few extra people fishing Fellows causes you to want to quit fishing it altogether and go fish the northern states . . . . well then, good for you! Enjoy the 12-14 hour drive just to get there. You could make a run to Fellows, fish all day, come home and cut the grass and watch a ballgame before you even fill that 3rd tank of gas on your way up there!
  16. Aw, c'mon back Ron. Don't let Chief run you off. I'd say the lily-pad painting was the photo-shop one, but what do I know?
  17. Bill Y - wow, sounds like you think its just YOUR lake. Fellows is what, 5 minutes from Springfield? What do you expect? And I don't see the marina owners getting rich any time soon. I see long, long hours, sunburnt and aching backs, and dealing with the general Greene County public on a dawn to dark daily basis, so they better bring some special love for their job each day because I don't think many of us could hack it. By the way, you gotta a light?
  18. Photography is really all fake anyway, isn't it? Its just a visual reproduction, so where do you draw the line between real and artistic manipulation? Journalistic photography is one thing that should be kept honest, but anything else you have to realize its been tarted up or manipulated in some way. For that matter, there isn't much music that you buy that isn't processed, overdubbed, layered or whatever (it didn't get recorded in one live take). I don't know many people that are snobby enough to listen to only "live" recordings, eschewing all the rest. My older sister is the Ron Burgundy of photography and photoshopping . . . thats right, she's sort've a big deal. Not landscape stuff or flowers or sports, but art with a story embedded in the visual and yes it is all heavily photoshopped, but still created by her. She's travelled the world, had gallery openings, hung out with movie stars that are fans of hers, even did a Time Magazine cover-shot. Prints sell for up to $12k and she can't make them fast enough. Most of the kids used in her stuff are Paul Dallas' nieces and nephews. Check it out here: www.julieblackmon.com
  19. Many great memories fishing that lake growing up. First time I saw it, was like the first time I saw the ocean. Wonder if they still have that old hand-drawn map of the lake tacked up to the ceiling in the marina. Showed all the crappie beds/brush-piles. Me and Paul Dallas used to catch some slab crappies outta there.
  20. Good work! Wish I could help, but got other things going on that day. I support what you are doing with this. Hope you get these signs all where they need to go.
  21. Saw 4 or 5 water snakes this past weekend on the Jacks, including this big boy who almost had me fooled for a cottonmouth until I got up closer.
