  1. Bass fish all day, fill the freezer in the evening. No better way to spend a day on the water.
  2. was out in it this morning in a kayak, and this one definitely was not sluggish.
  3. should get better once the rain slows down and days get consistently hotter.
  4. man, swamp bug strikes again!
  5. anybody hear stories behind any of the top fish? saw the 7.98 came in the first time slot... i'd have heartburn out the yang praying for that weight to stick all weekend 😅
  6. Was thinking about heading down this weekend but probably gonna stay put until that slime clears out. These Kansas brown fish are too much fun to leave anyway. 👻
  7. and a heck of a lot less time doing it too.
  8. Co-angling and Roth contribution for me Plug, now I just need to live long enough to see it. 😁
  9. I experienced the same thing dragging a shaky head around in the rocks on Saturday. Seemed to draw a lot of attention but from the wrong fish. Flipping a 1/2oz jig into the right pile got me clobbered though, so it may have been more of a reaction deal. Conditions Sunday looked tougher so I opted for the breakfast table. 😊
  10. thanks guys. water looked great this weekend, managed three saturday morning over a couple hours. two dinks on a plopper at first light from the yak, and a small keeper from a shallow brush pile under a cable on a jig. family obligations kept me off the water after that, but anyone with a boat and milk run of shallow piles should have done pretty good. I did notice a little froth at the water's edge Sunday morning, wouldn't be surprised if the turnover starts here in a few weeks.
  11. Anybody seeing it happen yet?
  12. Saw that helgramite on instagram. That thing's going to slay on a shaky head and c rig!
  13. Sure must be nice.
  14. I didn’t really enjoy fishing a jerkbait out of my kayak, made me wonder if a spook would be just as frustrating. Those are two baits I’d really rather stand to fish.
  15. @nomolites once I have my own boat I'll be in the vocally anti-sitting crowd too 😁
  16. They’re pretty sweet Plug. I’ll paddle out at first light just to sit with a coffee. Can be hard to fish efficiently out of depending on what they want, but you can’t argue stealth and no fuel cost! You don’t need a fancy fishing kayak to get the job done either.
  17. Here we go, lemme get my popcorn ready before we get a few more pages outta wrench 😂
  18. No. No. No.
  19. I'd be chucking that rig and slow rolling a big blade into piles if that forecast holds.
  20. some bona fide ozark slabs in that mess, nice work
  21. Nice, I'm gonna give that Crispy Southern a try. Been looking for something less overpowering than Andy's, but with more flavor than Shore Lunch. Sweet vid! Nice rude
  22. I'm racking my brain trying to think of anything remotely edible that wouldn't taste better after that, no luck so far Maybe I'm in the minority here but I don't get the appeal of spoonbill snagging. If everybody's so eager to go kill and eat some obscure ugly fish, plenty of asian carp in the waterways to focus efforts on. At least they're a nuisance.
  23. main osage on the lower end still had a real heavy stain to it but @nomolites found us some good looking water in the creek arms.
  24. good amount of fish still staging out around secondaries and adjacent channel swings last weekend, shallow bite for size should be getting better but fish the conditions you're dealt that day in spring. once you find an area with the right rock and water clarity, an a-rig, spinnerbait, jerkbait, wiggle wart, shad rap, and a finesse jig should have you covered.
  25. Good times as usual with you Mike. I've been putting off throwing the xmas tree for too long. You put us in the right place and we were throwing the right stuff, I'm sure we would've pulled out a few more good ones if we didn't have to wait in line to fish it.
