After reading this and other line topics of this forum it's obvious I use way too heavy of line. I use all bait casting tackle and 12# is the lightest I've gone. I use the xps fluorocarbon on about everything but just respooled my drop shot outfit with some 8# berkley 100% walmart had on clearance because I know I need to go lighter. One thing to note however the line diameter of the berkley is only .001" smaller than the xps 12#. Makes me wonder if .001" is worth 50% greater pound test!

I've seen a couple people have fully enclosed boat trailers to ward off the thieves. They must have full blown dementia.

The only problem with those loc r bars is the fiberglass they're mounted into is no match for a 4' pry bar. A thief will do $5000 worth of damage to your boat to get $1000 worth of tackle. It's a pain I'm sure to take your rods out every night but I'd rather leave the compartments unlocked and let them look that destroy your lids prying around.

Did you go out 2short? I was at state park but just a passenger on a pontoon. Saw a couple Lunds with guys fishing. Yesterday I just ran from spot to spot fishing brush with the bubba shot. Occasionally I'd find some with fish and catch 3 of one spot. Honestly it was a pretty satisfying 2 days, I used my electronics probably more than I ever have.

Had success with big worms deep mostly on brush piles. Had them rigged as a bubba shot and magnum shakey head and did pretty good from 4:30-7pm.

I'm planning on heading down in the morning. Going to try some big worms out deep and spend some time looking for some good brush out deep. I'll be putting in at RB.

I keep my draw bars locked on. I've had two stolen and if my b&w hitches got stolen I'd be mad.

I think I like new braking system too. I've got it on a couple of the new metaniums and got along with it really well. I wasn't throwing anything light but it seemed to cast far needing little thumbing. -

I've been doing something along the same lines on my shakey heads. Instead of the jig skirt I bought a couple packs of the Yamamoto hula skirts. I cut them in half and slip on in front of the worm for a different look.

Not at all we already have Bluetooth connectivity with power poles. I haven't compared mg and mk too closely but I have two fortrex 80s that treat me just fine. No bouncing or any problems in rougher water and pretty easy to stow and deploy.

I hate to blame the weather for my own failure. I'm just going to state that I fished tues and Wednesday at Stockton and could only manage 6-7 fish a day. Couldn't get bit on a crank bait from 4-20'. All fish were on shakey head at bluff walls, drop shot by bridge pilings and jigs on main lake points. Best fish was on a brush pile in 20'. Very tough 2 days.

For me I like senkos and flukes to sink but if most others floated I'd like it better. Some plastics I don't really know why they're made to sink. For instance the yum mightee worm that's advertised to use in conjunction with the pumpkin ed for power shakin. When the bait hits bottom the worm slowly falls over flat on the bottom lifelessly. Another is the Yamamoto pro senko which looks like its great for shaky heads but is full of salt so doesn't float. Robos are my go to, it looks like they only have one layer on the underneath with salt so they float well.

7.5 is my biggest. That was last spring or the one before, the water was pretty dirty then. That was probably the best trip I've had to the rock.

I was out today fishing a main lake point just south of hawker. As I was getting ready to leave a yellow wake boat buzzed by me pretty close. wtf I thought so I followed and saw these buffoons blast right by another angler in a deep v right at the entrance to hawker bay. They continued to the mouth of hawker and I thought they were going to run aground at that little island. I felt bad for the guy they swamped driving 30' away from him.

I posted about this in the general angling section. That software as used on mlf is available now. As I said there you'd just have to keep it honest somehow. Maybe an accompanying picture?

I meant as far as if the Coe allows more dock/ marina permits on trl or if they slow it down.

Not sure that TRL will catch LOZ. What makes ozarks so attractive is you can build so much closer to waters edge. It just depends on if the Coe will allow it.

About the only drop shotting I've done is around bridge pilings. They're usually good for a few spots although there usually isn't much size to them. Typically I use a 4.75" Berkely worm or a gycb pro senko.

Have to make room for those fed up with all the nonsense on table rock and Loz I guess. Can't blame the operators though.

I really wanted to come down and join some friends at Stockton this weekend but knew it would be crazy. I would assume we won't see any more marinas or docks built to make it any worse? That's what makes Stockton appealing to me is it has way fewer docks than the other lakes.
