If the hatcheries are filled with fish, then why aren't there going to be any stockings. Seems strange to me.

I bet that shad stank ! They don't smell god when caught with a hook and line. Pretty sure that shooting one with a bow compounds the odor. It's a giant gizzard shad for sure! It’s the 6th state-record fish recorded for 2020. “I’ve caught other record fish before, but this is the first time I’ve actually gotten one in the books,” said Duncan. “It’s really bragging rights and not a fish you mount – especially after it’s been shot! But now I’ve got a game going with my friends to shoot the world record gizzard shad. I’m betting it’s in that pond.” Missouri state-record fish are recognized in two categories: pole-and-line and alternative methods. Alternative methods include: throwlines, limb lines, bank lines, jug lines, spearfishing, snagging, snaring, gigging, grabbing, archery, and atlatl. I have never met Tyler, but he seems to be the guy in the know when it comes to catching some of those unusual species found in Southeast Missouri. Currently the state holds at least five world records.” Goodale was fishing at Duck Creek Conservation Area April 1 when he caught the fish using the pole-and-line method. “I’ve fished for spotted sucker at Duck Creek before and have already broken a state and world record,” mentioned Goodale. “But I didn’t submit that entry because I knew I could catch a bigger fish! This was the catch I was waiting for so I’ll submit this one for the world record.” MDC staff verified the spotted sucker’s weight using a certified scale at MDC’s Southeast Regional Office in Cape Girardeau. This is the fifth state-record fish of 2020. Goodale is familiar with spotted sucker and has spent time researching them with MDC as a volunteer. “I’ve put a lot of homework into this species and I’ve put in a lot of time,” he explained. “They always spawn in April and always spawn in the west side of the pool. They’re a temperamental fish and not that easy to catch. You really need to know what to look for. You only have about a five-to-ten second window once you present them with bait.” Goodale said his latest record will be used for science. “I plan on getting a fiberglass replica, but the fish itself is currently in my freezer and will be used for research,” he said. “I’ve got a buddy in MDC’s Fisheries division and we’re going to take a look at the fish and try to age it.” Goodale said he’s enjoyed fishing at Duck Creek for more than 30 years. “I’ve made a lot of memories there and I want to thank MDC for managing the area and fish habitat so well.” Missouri state-record fish are recognized in two categories: pole-and-line and alternative methods. My great grandfather was a crucible operator at a mill in Pittsburgh. Story was that he had been there a long time and that they lost his original paperwork. When asked when he was going to retire the answer was I've got a couple of years to go. They figured he had to had been 13 or 14 years old for him to not be at the age of retirement. He was close to 70 years old when they forced him to retire. We loved going to his house as kids. He didn't trust banks so hid money all over the house 😁!

Unless there is a way to address the underlying issues that result in the violence of the mass shootings it doesn't matter if you get rid of the guns. Columbine shooting occurred while I was in N Ireland. Had to constantly hear about the gun crazy Americans. The people that were killed and injured by the car bombings that occurred while I was there was far more acceptable.

As a kid we would make the trip to Pittsburgh once or twice a year from CT. Always picked up chipped ham and the original Islay's Klondike bars😋. Maybe it is nostalgia but those Klondike bars tasted better. Better ice cream and chocolate.

I have to say that for the most part I personally dislike these types of specialty pizzas. It's fusion gone bad. Keep pizza as pizza and tacos as tacos. In my opinion we don't need a burrito stromboli 😌! Or kimchi calzones😵. Don't get started on how good pineapple is either😒. I worked at a deep dish pizza place in High school. There was a bar attached to the restaurant. The place served a taco pizza. 90% of the time it was ordered after 9 pm and from the bar. I cringed everytime one was served since I usually had to clean it up again later in the bathroom if they made it that far. What's worse is that it looked about the same as when it was served. Didn't see that happen with pepperoni or sausage pizza. Oh and in N Ireland they love corn on pizza😌.

Looks good. We had several yellow and red bell peppers. I wanted stuffed peppers, but the meat went into meatballs and cheeseburger quesadillas.

I like those rose-breasted grosbeaks. Had a couple of years that they would hit our feeders in Columbia. Now would be the time to have out oriole feeders. I would have ours out before the dogwoods would bloom so that the orioles would see the feeder as they flew over. Used to go through a lot of grape jelly feeding the orioles. Fine by me I don't like grape jelly .
