  1. We catch quite a number of yellow perch here in MD. Pretty common, though the sizes here are not like out in the lakes of SD.
  2. Good luck buddy. Catch a sea monster!
  3. I don't know if this is funny or terrifying.
  4. Actually it may be all of the sculpin at least the common ones, banded, ozark, mottled, knobfin. Not sure what the thoughts are leading to the change.
  5. It's been that way for a long time. Sensationalism and fear sells. Keep people dissatisfied so that believe that you have a better way or thing to help them.
  6. Maybe they recycled the one from Utah.
  7. I was having a discussion about mottled sculpin in the Niangua and got confirmation that the genus for the mottled sculpin and this sculpin species will be changing. Unfortunately I didn't keep the email with the full description . This species will be known as U. hypselurus in the new Fishes of Missouri guide book.
  8. I would suggest going for the rock bass trifecta, Northern Rock bass, ozark and Shadow bass. Will have to travel some to get all three but they are very doable on a fly.
  9. Dave - If you want to include micros to your list, I would suggest that you go back to where you caught the longears and tie a #18 or #20 dropper fly below your bigger fly. Should be able to pick up one or two more species.

They always are . I have heard that memory adds 2 to 3 inches and 8 ozs to the weight of every lost fish !
  11. How's everyone doing on their 2020 goals? I still have one or two more shots at achieving another one or two more of my goals. However, here is how I feel right now in terms of how 2020 has been going . Starting to seriously look at 2021.

    What's Cooking?

Paid homage to dish posted 1134 pages ago made by @ness Jagerschnitzel made with venison pieces of top round steaks pounded thin and breaded with panko. Mashed potatoes, brown gravy with baby portobello mushrooms, and rotkohl.
  13. I haven't either. I also have not believed the "No nothing is wrong" or "I'm not angry."
  14. You caught me ! Worst part about the trip out there is that Southwest made me check the wheelbarrow at the gate !
  15. Love the tape holding it up @ness
  16. Just need to add a couple of springs or million dollar chiller system for each pond to keep the ponds cool enough to maintain the DO needed for those trout.
  17. Actually sounding more like that garden gnome that was stolen and the former owner would get photos of the gnome next to world famous monuments as it was taken all over the world.
  18. That was one of the concerns with the nutrient loading going into the lake.
  19. I would bet money that you hadn't even looked at the report before you commented. The biggest reason is that this study was done in 1987 and it was performed to try to understand fluctuations in the condition of the trout in the lake at that time. Trout are kind of a big deal in Lake Taneycomo. The fluctuations in fish condition was attributed to a decline in the amphipod and isopod populations. What was also learned from the report was evidence that the potential cause of the reduction in amphipods and isopods within the lake between 1980 and 1987 was attributed to the runoff surrounding the area. Based upon that information there may have been attempts to reduce the runoff impacts due to nutrient loading and siltation into the lake which should have had a positive affect on the amphipod and isopod populations.
  20. Seems to be the leading thought on what this object was. You would think that the producers would chime in. Second thoughts are some sort of performance art. I stated on the What are you listening to thread that Kansas was the first concert that I have ever attended. I enjoyed the show!
  21. Lately it seems that we either loosely regard definitions in our reporting or make up new definitions to suit our narratives. I have been casually paying attention to the Metal object found in Utah. In case you haven't seen it, here it is (was). Every article written about this has referred to it as a monolith. By definition a monolith is a stone object and not a metal one. monolith [ˈmänəˌliTH] NOUN a large single upright block of stone, especially one shaped into or serving as a pillar or monument. synonyms: standing stone · menhir · sarsen (stone) · megalith Cambridge dictionary definition - a large block of stone standing by itself that was put up by people in ancient times Merriam Webster - Definition of monolith 1 : a single great stone often in the form of an obelisk or column A granite monolith stands at the center of the park. So it just seems that the reporters either don't know what the true definition of monolith is or that they want to invoke 2001: A space Odyssey, suggest that this is either alien, or that it is(was) ancient. As more was said about the object, it disappears. We may never know what this really was, but in my mind it never was a monolith. Rant over !
