Not a lot to report, but it looks like a slow night on the board so I thought to share anyway.
Got up early Wednesday to work on some much needed boat wiring and decided to make a few casts from the dock with the redfin.
Had three short strikes over 30-40 FOW on main lake point with no takers. Switched to spook with no further strikes. Gave up to work on the boat. My 10 year old niece walked down mid-morning so I set her up with the Ned. She caught 2 decent SM's directly under the dock in 25 FOW with several other lost fish. In typical Ned form, they just picked it up and moved away. It was a good lesson in watching the line and not feeling for the tap.
Got the boat back in order and went Thursday AM. Caught several short SM's on the Ned in 18 FOW until my 13 year old daughter called wanting to join me. With little time left before the lake got busy, we went drop shotting. She ended up catching the healthy spot pictured below. We were both so proud!
Want to thank the guy in the white visor and maroon ranger who joined us on the point, while keeping more than enough distance. I actually tried to wave him in to join us as we were on some good fish and wanted to share and show my appreciation, but couldn't ever get his attention. Unfortunately a couple of knuckleheads pulled up on him in a pontoon and ran him off. I couldn't catch the conversation but fairly confident he spoke his mind while trolling around them to different water.
Didn't clock a lot of time on the water but got to share in some memories with my family that we'll never forget.
