You guys really pay 60.00 + for a single bait to catch a fish you won't eat? When I win the Powerball tonight I wouldn't do that. I did pay a lot of money for pike minnows though. Couple bucks a piece but they lasted for weeks if they don't get too chewed up.

Champ they are paid to do a job. If they don't like the job they can quit. No reason for them to be pricks from the get go. I've been thru Bella Vista thousands of times, They define Pricks. JMO.

Ha! "Straightened out" When I was in the 82nd Airborne I ended up in the county lock up. I was a badass paratrooper! The local boys took off the cuffs at my request and we settled our differences. Twice! Them sons a guns been fighting paras since WWII. They reminded of that after I was "Straightened Out". Twice.

Yep. The small town guys are the worst. The city boys have way to much going on to mess around with BS. Very rural where I grew up, best deputy sheriff in the world is coming down in a few weeks for a week of Lilleys Landing fun. His brothers and boss? They like to nit pick and bully.

Amen 96 C !! The things I remember doing and getting away with are embarrassing. Some are unbelievable. I'm glad we didn't have phones and you tube! I hated a Statey in Michigan for taking my beer. When I "grew up" I remembered he took my young drunk butt home, and never gave me the speeding ticket I deserved. 70 Cuda 340. I miss that car

How far is Holiday Island from Lilleys Landing? 30 minutes? I have 7 guys coming from Michigan and Colorado meeting me at Phil's for an 7 day fishing trip last week of January. I can scramble eggs. Sorta. RPS can you help?

Remember that the northerns and walleye attack the decoys when you look away, go outside to pee,etc. Pretty, expensive ones get trashed every time. I have caught pike with fancy plastic decoys devoured to the hooks.. A piece of cedar with a tail of deer hair works just as well.

Been many world problems solved in the ice shanty. I've spent way to many days in a shanty, none of them wasted. I still use Grandpa's decoys when I get to fish up north. Spearing is like buck fever or a hung up gobbler, you can see the pike looking at decoy or live sucker just out or range.... Makes a guy crazy.

There is a reason the lakes up north are covered with shanties. The fishing is outstanding! Give it a try. You can rent shanties with heat for about 25 bucks a day in Michigan, some you can sleep in. Wife caught a 38" Northern once on 3lb test with a teardrop and meal worm. We had been catching yellow perch, crappie and bluegill that day. The bucket is fine if the wind is not blowing, if it is you can set tip-ups and set in the truck and listen to the game.
