The Argali knives are made in the US. Boise, Id. These things come shaving sharp.

Quill, never thought of that. I do use some squeezed lemon on it tho. I like cooking pork and chicken in apple cider vinegar. Some look at me weird when they are over, but when it hits their palate, they just smile.

Not to far off from the tarter we make. We do use chopped dill pickle in it.

Wanton waste can come in the form of just about anything edible. I too have done as mentioned, and thrown a few fish back as to not have to clean them. Heck, just last month i had the family out, caught a couple whites, kept livewell pumping on the way home. Pulled in the driveway and a neighbor came over. After his hour visit it was dark and i went in, took a shower and off to bed. Went out to the shop 4 days later and smelled something fishy. Yep, they were still in there. Every November if you drive much at all, you will see deer dumped that had enough meat on them to feed a family of 12 for 3 months.

Oh my. The missy was sitting next to me as I watched the vids. She said we don’t have one of those grinders, but knowing her like i do, before weeks done we will. Does the flavor of smoke change the taste at all? Sad to say but she bought me a new smoker for Christmas and I haven’t opened it up. She just reminded me of that, too. 😁 We just had a mexican concoction she got off pinterest, kinda like a breaded taco, and this here would have went well with it. Thanks for the share.

Launched at Cedar Ridge at 6:03 “when picture at dock was taken”. Had first fish catch picture at 6:07. Yep, 1st cast on the Chappo. Fished a bank 50 yards and had 1 more. Moved to the point from the other evening and missed 2 on top. Threw the square bill and connected on 3 quick. Skipped across to another productive bank and caught. 3.4 and. 2.8 within first 5 casts on the Chappo. Hit one more stretch back towards the dam fishing the drop shot and caught 3 smallies. Overall had a great 3 hours out. Ended up with 12 in the boat, 2 lost trying to flip them in, and 1/2 dozen blowups on topwater. I switched often between topwater and square bill. Picture is of baits i used.

I don’t like fish flavor, so that tarter was just what it needed to get it down my gizzard. I would die quickly if all this world had to eat was fish.

I’m not much of a fish eater, maybe once a year. Today was that day with some walleye slabs we had. She made some flavorful tarter to go with it.

Just got home. Launched at 7pm and fished til 10. Found fish stacked on a point with standing timber. Caught 9 bass without moving the boat on a square bill. Changed that up to a drop shot with a red 4” straight tail worm and started hooking again. Great evening to be on the water.

Live Scope Ban : Professional Musky Tournament Trail
Ketchup replied to Hawg's topic in Conservation Issues
Seen a local club that is splitting into 2 divisions. 1 with, 1 without. Can’t even have a FFS ducer mounted. No SI either. -
Bought a big spool of P-Line floroclear in 12lb 3 years ago. I have spooled several reels with it. Every reel it has been on, i have had constant line break. I never thought much about until i was talking to a couple guys at our tournament who said they had the same issues, so stopped using it. Anyone else use/had issues with it?

Mav, I typically will do the same with a bigger batch. I used to use wax paper for the freeze but found that peppers won’t stick to that round sheet. Using the straw is a great way when you don’t want to go thru the hassle of getting the suction machine out.
-
With only having 3 pepper plants this year, they sure are producing well. I like to freeze a few pounds for chili, roasts, etc. in the winter time. I start out by doing a Cider wash, cutting them stems off, cutting into slices, then lay them flat and do a flash freeze for 3 hours. This keeps them from sticking together when i place them in bags. Some remove the seeds prior to freezing, but i like the extra heat when adding to foods. Great way to have peppers when the garden is done. I use a straw to suck out any air before zipping tight.

I used to enjoy knives of all types, even the cooking types. In regards to what you are suggesting you’re wanting, I’m a big SOG fan. Look at the Pillar. Made in the USA, full tang, and keeps an edge pretty well for a low $200 blade. Another brand that i had never heard of until my brother bought me one is the Argali. I got the Serac and talk about light weight and very balanced. It uses S35VN steel which they guarantee you can skin a complete elk without needing to sharpen. This has been my go-to knife for several uses. Check it out. EDIT: Just checked out the Argali site. It’s a better knife than i had thought. Here is info from their site. Speaks volumes. Lifetime Warranty and Guarantee We back our knives by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you aren't completely satisfied with your knife, send it back for a full refund. We make our knifes to be used and abused, and if you aren't satisfied, we'll refund your money. Our knives are also guaranteed for life. If anything happens to it, we'll fix it or replace it. It's that simple. Lifetime Free Sharpening Eventually, your knife will need to be sharpened. And when that day comes, we will gladly sharpen it for you at no cost, for as long as you own your knife.

Heck, looking at it again it may be mashed taters.
-
Is that bread or dough? Looks good.

Gimme a PB&J sammich with jalapeño on it and i can conquer the world. Oh yeah, a good mule will help.

You know, if anything like this were to ever come about, i can promise you that not one single person in Greene County would be willing to step up to my casa. We here at this prepper station make the show Naked and Afraid look casual.
-
Thought about heading out this evening and trolling, but it was still 100 at 7:30. Thursday is looking better.

Talk about choices. I haven’t eaten lunch so i will have one of each, please.

Re-reading the thread below this has got me all giddy for fall. Looking at my life in a 30 second reflash, dogs have been the one constant that fills the memory bank. I’ve been invited by a life long buddy in Ohio to go chase those longtails north of here this fall. He runs several field trials yearly with his setters, and will bring some good ones. I’m hopeful to make the trip. Another buddy we go to the sand dunes in OK. with hunts Kansas/Oklahoma for quail each year, and has invited me a few times. I will make that one for sure. You guys have any bird trips in the works? I know, not much of a bird finder looking mutt.

Do they get caught in the fan?

Tonights surprise for the misses was seasoned pork chops pan seared in apple cider vinegar, creamy noodles “from the bag”, a mixture of mushrooms-onion-sliced potatoes sautéed together with a side of fresh picked cherry tomatoes and cottage cheese. Not bad for thrown together. Oh yeah, and a hump of those green sliced things on the side.
