Read a report yesterday about a Yak tourney guy cheating. If your familiar with how their tourneys work, they measure then take pictures of the fish. He shortened his measuring device by 4". Busted. I just don't get cheating during fishing like I don't smoking, nor driving while intoxicated. If you have to cheat fishing, then that tells everyone that you SUCK at fishing. Take up watching golf on TV.

Your a braver guy than myself. I turn and walk out in those situations. Stopped going to a local small cafe due to a new "regular" smelling the place up to the point that I couldn't taste the food over the taste of smoke. I am a firm believer in freedom in all manners, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I never had to smell it ever again. You are of above norm from my experiences. Yes everyone can refrain from cursing in certain situations, but to be that way in their normal, everyday life just puzzles me. Not sure what good it does, or what comes of it? Don't get me wrong, I've got hunt in' camp buddies that after they drink a few cold ones, they can get pretty foul mouthed. I just don't get it. Same here ness. Mom still smokes at 72 with stage 4 cancer, dad passed away in 05' from cancer. Smoked since he was 9. What gets me riled up is to see a vehicle pull up, mom and pops smoking like a chimney, while their 3 kids in the back seat, windows rolled up, are engulfing their lungs with that nasty stuff by NO CHOICE of their own. I was one of those kids, like a lot of us. I've rolled down my window on a few occasions and politely mentioned that the kids look like they need some fresh air. Yes I've gotten some nasty responses, but if it gets their brain thinking about their kids, rather than their addiction, then I feel good. Sorry for the rant. Maybe I need to find an addiction I can force on the general public.

Rod/reel selection you have will be good until you get more into the serious side of the bass game. As far as baits...... On the soft bait side, familiarize yourself with what is working on the body of water you plan on fishing the most, and stock up on similar baits as money allows. Those same baits will work on most other waters. Sometimes a matching soft plastic, or even hard baits, color can make a difference, so for instance, take a Berkley Power Worm. Been around forever and everyone has used them. Let's say you are fishing Table Rock today and killing "just a phrase" the bass on a motor oil worm, then head to Stockton tomorrow and can't get a bite on that same worm, doesn't mean worms don't work there. Maybe changing the color of that worm would have caught you a lot of fish, so try to buy a few colors of similar baits. Jigs are a good bet to have handy anytime of the year. I prefer 1/4 or 3/8 ounce in PB&J color or blue/black. They will work on any water, anytime of year. Soft swim baits would be another choice to grab. You can fish them multiple ways and catch fish. If you get a chance, go to Academy Sports in Springfield "or wherever" as they have a large selection of plastics and get an idea of the style, color, shapes, lengths, etc. Hard baits are just as plentiful as soft plastics nowadays. I will always have shallow, medium, and deep diving crank baits in the boat. I always have several colors of Rattle Traps on hand as they are fish catching baits. Once you get more into the game, then you can buy a jerk bait and start figuring out the technique for working them. So much info to be found on bass fishing on the web. Good luck with your move, and for your reintroduction to the sport of bass fishing.

That's your calling wrench, to start a new fad or even a book "cursing For dummies". Yep, I think this mechanic thing is in the past. Im as guilty as the next guy, when in a high stressed situation, or using foul language to get a point across, but its few and far between. My son "28" has a few buddies that come over to help buck hay, pull fence, etc. that use the F word every 3rd word..They know how I am, and usually correct themselves within a few minutes of being around.. My guess is it becomes second nature to speak in that manner, and not even realize that your in public, or at someone else's house with ladies or kids present, that you don't even notice your choice of words, or that those people are listening. I try to be respectful of those I'm around and their families, and using curse words goes against that. I guess if your one of those that curse a lot, just think of those around you that cringe at your choice of words. Heres another issue I have.....There's very few things in life I can't tolerate being around, and smoking is at the top of that list. In my adult life, I've noticed that smokers are some of the most inconsiderate people I have seen when it comes to them not thinking about those that are standing or sitting within smelling distance of their smell. Nothing like being in public, eating food at a ball game,or wherever, and the dude or chick 2 seat down, upwind from you lights one up, one after another, while I'm trying to eat my food. Forget the food, just the fact that they force non-smokers to breathe that crap without taking that somewhere where there not forcing those around to smell it. It sticks to the clothing, hair, everything. Just a VERY nasty habit. I've been known to voice my thoughts to a stranger, and I've done it more so with smokers than anything That includes people I know and strangers. If you smoke, cool as the gov'ment needs your money.... Just think of those around you, and their families that don't, and remove yourself from them before you force your habit on them. Pretty simple stuff really.

I used him a few times a few years ago when I had a wakeboard boat. I had him rework my prop for my Merc. 225 also and the 3 times I used him he was exact in his work. He likes to chat. He was priced higher than Matt tho, Which is why I started going to Matt. -
Good report. Sounds like you had a productive tourney, but like most of us, we never do as well as we would like to.
-
Sold it to a KU kid a few months back. Would love to had taken that motor off and put on the new boat, but not enough HP for this boat. Upgrading from a 115 Merc. currently to a 150 Merc. 4 banger soon. Love to go with the Yamaha, but to cheap to change controls also.

Youth that read these pages so giving the parents a heads up before they blast the video in front of them. I'm one of those that doesn't curse, and cringe when people spit those words out in everyday talk. Shows their lack of the English language.

Owned a 2000 50HP 4 stroke. BEST motor out of the many that I have owned from small tillers to 225 Mercs. By best I mean most reliable, most cost effective, most quiet, best on gas, never had to worry about being stranded. I would take a Yammie 4 stroke over any outboard on the market no matter what year. This coming from a 30+ year boater that has owned many boats.

I thought maybe you and bassfisher, Aggressor, aggressorlong1988, jasonlong, etc. we're in a race to have the most forum names or posts. . ?? you can delete a thread at the top of a page. "Moderation actions". -
Sorry about the foul language but great find for the tourney guys to stop cheating for that area anyways. http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1662039-fishing-tournament-cheaters-stopped-video https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1221390547893792&id=517235404975980&_rdr

MO. But read your other posts. -
Good luck everyone. News shows rain and thunder so remember the birds may be slow to fly down if it's raining early.
-
Looks like rain for the next 4 days straight. Warm temps at night and day should help the cool water areas. I can just picture those biggins moving up.

Andy, contact Smalls21 on here. He may have a few at his office at Tracker. I think I tested one when I borrowed a few props to try from him. -
Would like to see Christie win it, but man I'm a huge Davis fan, so anything in the top 5 for him and I'm tickled.
-
That's my thinking, Jerry. In my opinion, the Elite guys should be the cut for the "win your in" standard. Granted, to win in an Elite or an Open field is a pat on the back either way.

Nice fish. Great to see the kids catching fish. Long Creek?
-
I suck at guessing weight in fish. I called Bills just over 5, and would call this one in the 8 maybe "maybe" range. Nice fish in the article either way.
-
Those big horses like to be fed, Ham. The cost of owning one starts the day it's purchased. Been there but love my fuel bill with the 115, but man, I just can't get that throttle pushed down far enough, EVER. The need for speed rings true.
-
Haha Nitro.... If you own a jersey, that's a good start. Good pic John.
-
Man you shoulda came on up to Aunts Creek. Pretty busy area today also. Caught a lot of fish but no size like yesterday.
-
Seen a few wrapped boats out yesterday. Hard to tell who they are at 100 yards and them running 70. Pretty cool they spend so much time on TR.
-
Anyone seen KVD, G-Man, or any other this week on The Rock? I seen that they have been at Big Cedar all week doing photo shoots and shows. Just curious.
