  1. Lets hit the woods oneday and you can use it and see what you think. I was looking for a Benjamin when that Michael Wadell show came on again showing them hunting with them. Thought id give it a try. Researched it thru youtube like i do everything before buying, and the outlook looks good.
  2. Been wanting to try the air rifle thing for small game the past few years, so last week i bought a Gamo Accu177 in .177 caliber. Shows 1200 or so FPS but like anything, im sure its off. At the $200 price range, i must say im pretty impressed with the accuracy, and overall quality of the Gamo brand. Years past i had a Benjamin pellet gun and loved it. Traded that off to my brother for a 410. While at a buddies today, i decided to tag along the Gamo. He has a HUGE walnut tree over his driveway, and those tree rats are constantly dropping walnuts on their vehicles. Within 25 minutes we had dropped 6 with ease. I made a few 30 yard shots in the neck that dropped them in their tracks. Im thinking i may get used to this air rifle game. Only dislike so far is the single shot part. But the payoff should equall it out. Anyone else do the air rifle thing?
  3. Old stuff there. Hidden treasures that someone worked their tail off to build years past. Well the bucks went nocturnal. Almost every picture of over 1000 from cards i pulled yesterday were all at night. They will be forced to move daylight hours as the days get shorter. Love our extended bow season here in Mo. Lots of chances to get in the woods.
  4. Food on the table, and memories made. Nothing better. Good job BH.
  5. Nice hunt. Between your bushytails and turks, your enjoying some great days afield.
  6. Love that noise.
  7. Nice report and pictures. Love hunting those small isolated woodlots.
  8. Sat last evening to a decent wind from the south. It was pretty warm but this time of year it tends to cool off pretty quick. Got in my stand, sat up the GoPro to do some self filming, arrow knocked, all just before 4. Land owners turned 2 horses loose into this 80 ive been hunting and heard several deer during the sit "blow" which had to be due to the horses. Seen a few groups of does 100 yards away. At 5:45 seen a yote working his way up the tree line towards me. He was downwind and i was for sure he would bust me. He worked into 15 yards when i let the arrow fly. He ran 20 yards and fell over. I love doing predator control, and when i get the chance with my bow, that tops shooting a deer. For some reason i dislike evening sits. I have always seen more deer mornings. Im sure its my stand locations. My stand is in the tree with the picture with the arrow.
  9. Haha Dan, i was going to mention the same about his custom belt. Good catching there fellers.
  10. As Andy said, typically i run on top of the waves which will smooth out the ride to an extent, but when the waves are to big to safely do that, i will cut sideways "into the trough" for a ways, then turn 180 and do the same. Basically a zig zag pattern to stay between the waves. Cant be done always, but the safest way. I put in at Ruark and ran to the dam this spring. Water was fairly calm, not smooth but decent. After a few hours of fishing up there, the wind picked up alot. I took off headed for Ruark and tried the slow roll over the wave thing but was getting wet and bow beat by the waves. After 15 minutes of that, I ended up just jumping up on plane and ran the Xpress at 60 all the way back. Was it smooth? Nope but it wasnt beating me either. Your boating experience should dictate your degree of speed. I've got 30 years running boats, with 9 of those being on Lake Erie where if you arent careful, your 19' bass boat will be at the bottom of the lake. Im confident in my abilities in a boat, tho those riding with me at times may think otherwise. Your boat can handle any weather on Stockton, if you operate it the correct way.
  11. For some reason we only held up 4 fish but there was a 5th.
  12. It was a good day for me. My partner is a heck of a good stick, but was struggling getting keepers bites. Send him to TR with a spoon and may as well donate your money before launch. I did well on that same 100 yard stretch of bank this spring also.
  13. How did the Toyota tournament go for ya?
  14. thanks guys. weights were 11.3, 8.9 i believe, and 5 something. Yes the wind picked up pretty good. Lots of crappie/walleye guys out today.
  15. Had our tournament today out of Ruark. Started out with 70.2 water temp with a slight breeze, and a beautiful morning. Partner and i made the first cast at 7:09 and at 7:32 had our 5 fish limit. We fished other areas with the same type of rock/slope but only picked up dinks. We were able to cull twice thruout the day. Guys at weighin said lots of short fish were caught today, and 1 walleye. Wind picked up pretty good, like Stockton is known for. We ended up winning and won big bass pot also. aarchdale and his partner took second. As always, it was great to be on the water.
  16. We had our Tin Boats tourney today. Got pretty windy out there. No walleye today but lots of bass. Those messed up limbs usually will get a guy out of the honey do lists.
  17. Hes fishing our TinBoats tourney out of Ruark Saturday. He fishes Stockton alot so should be at the top of the money.
  18. This deer hunting stuff has kept me out of the fishin' areas. Sorry guys. Thanks for the help Andy. As Andy said we have a tournament this saturday out of Ruark on Stockton 7am to 3pm. Our last tournament for the year is Nov. 4 out of Bolivar Landing on Pomme De Terre. We will have a BBQ following tournament. Weather and water temps look good for Saturday so hope to see you new guys there. Lots of laid back guys in the club, but alot of good sticks also. Winning isnt what were about. Its about meeting great guys/gals, then taking their money. 😜
  19. I prefer the Helicopter Lure this time of year. That Banjo just doesnt do it for me after June.
  20. Watching Ike Live he mentioned he along with KVD, G-Man, and all the other Toyota guys will be fishing a tournament on TR next weekend. Tournament is free to anyone owning a Toyota so if you want to compete against these guys for FREE, heres your chance. I have a Stockton tourney Sat. but going to make my way down to see those guys somehow.
  21. You better get more than a game plan together to beat Andy.
  22. Facebook market place has alot of fishing items. If you have FB, check there. I HATE a thief. Built a new house several years ago, and on the 9th day after moving in, i just happen to come hone early from work before my wife and kids. Those bastards drove their truck thru my sliding glass door and into the living room. Loaded up everything they could, and left burn out marks thru the dining room on outside. The feeling of being violated mentioned before comes to mind. That was the one word my wife used often during that time. They took all of her panties out of her drawers and slung them thruout the house. Didnt touch mine, but i dont blame them. Her issue was, they seen our pictures on the walls and know what we look like. We didnt know crap about them. Atleast for 4 days until they were busted. I was a Deputy at the time but the department wouldnt let me work my own case. Looking back im glad they didnt. There were 11 of them, all between 15 and 21 years old. We didnt get a single item nor restitution out of it. Insurance covered the $4000 in damages. I hate a thief.
  23. If you have an Aluminum boat, we have one. Theres other clubs around. If you got a sailboat, then that too can be found on Stockton.
  24. Little late response Quill, but i had the Garmin EchoMap and that thing was clear. Loved the features, but didnt know what i was doing or looking at most of the time, even to this day. Im an electonics dummy, mbut did figure out enough on it to be able to shoot docks, etc. when motoring by. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
  25. Sorry to hear. What was his forum name, if different than his real name?
