Hooray! Glad you both have solidified your plans! Can't wait to fish again with ya Mike and Marty. Really looking forward to this trip.
-
Nice job Ryan! Pretty fish for sure.
-
Gore any more pics of that fish! That's awesome.
-
Always up for a good challenge. Shoot up to this point I've only ever hunted them with a vehicle... Off to find the horse sedatives...
-
HAHAHA It's a Deal! LOL And heck you think you've seen that bird dog of yours work, just wait till I get a few RedBulls in me! I'll have to dig out the shotgun and start shooting some clays this spring... Last I remember I sucked real good at shooting those flying things Just don't put that shock collar on me, I promise I'll try my hardest to stay quiet!
-
You make an excellent point there! Need someone to carry all of our stuff too LOL. I'll guarantee 1 fish, even if it is just the size of the fish the ones we are looking for are eating
-
I only wish you'd have shot a million more my friend. I may need to take up this goose hunting thing just so I can release some of this malice against them lol. Will trade 1 goose hunt for 1 night 1 fish guarantee sea monster taney trip? Haha I'll even supply you with the energy drink of choice!

I don't want to muck things up by adding a late +1. I won't hurt his feelings if I tell him we're full up. Don't want to add costs for folks either just for one more. I know we're in good hands with you buddy, just let me know the verdict. It's not a big deal, promise.

Haha, keepin it all in the family lol. We're related but not by blood lol. I'd snuggle up with Rick, but he was scared of the rainbow unicorn pants last time!

-
@Quillback Hey Buddy, If its not too late I have a late addition. My Brother in law finally got his scheduled clear so I am myself +2. We can sleep wherever as long as we're not hot bunking on a cot with Rick or Daryk I'll also hit you up in the other thread about food stuff too.

Ness it was only my second time there but it is a nice little stretch of water. We didn't see another angler the whole time we were there either. My buddy was second guessing all the way down as he was afraid there would not be any fish in there, but we found fish in all the places you expect to find them. We almost stopped at Meramec instead but glad we did not. The stream was teeming with bait fish and suckers as well. Shad and "bait" as I call them were all over the place.

We caught a few by the discharge. Didn't fish down past that. I had what I'm pretty sure was a brownie take a swipe at my jig, but we did not catch any.

Had a break in the hectic work schedule. Myself and 2 of my buddies from work got up in the dark and made the trek down to the creek. Got in the water just right as the sun was coming up. My buddy grew up down there and introduced me to the red ribbon section last year. We started just up from there and whether our way down to the water treatment plant. My other Co worker had never really trout fished before so we armed him with an ultralight and a white jig. We showed him the basics and he was the first one to land a fish! It wasn't long before I hooked into a pretty solid bow. Had him on for a bit but popped off about 5 feet away. I threw mostly orange and brown 3/32 pretty much all day as it was a hot color. Shortly after I lost the first fish I connected with my first of 2019. A small guy but hey he counts lol. A minute or so after that my buddy Brandon decided to be baptised... He ate it good on a rock and just about went under. It was still pretty cold and I don't think he stopped shivering till the sun finally came all the way up lol. We worked the steam pretty good, my newbie buddy took to jigging quickly and was flying solo in no time. I think we may have created a monster... I brought 8 to hand this morning and lost maybe 3 more or so. The the fly rod for a bit but they really just wanted the jigs. Man they would hit them hard when they wanted them too. Overall a great morning. Fun little stretch of steam and felt we did it well as we have no idea if they stocked it all winter. The rainbows we did catch had great color and some had really full find so they were def hold overs.

I too missed all of January... First time in a while. Life and weather just didn't allow me to get down and fish. Finally this morning myself and a few of my buddies hit the Roubidoux in Waynesville, and had a great morning. Here my first, wasn't much but it was good to get back out there. Caught some better ones but I'll post a quick trip report in a bit
-
Looking forward to your report as we'll be down at the end of the month and I'd like to venture out at night as well.
-
Pitter patter boys!
-
I'll talk to my Cuz brandon too. He'll likely bring a big pot of chili, but we'll make sure we have enough food lol. Glad your gonna make it Rick! And John I'll trade germans with ya...
-
I'll bring down some sweets? Cheesecake and muffins or cupcakes? Although if we need more food type stuff I can bring a crock pot of chicken and dumplings. I'll bring a back strap to grill up too. I got a jar of Marty's BBQ sauce as well that might make it down. Whatever works for everyone.

Looking for Taney sculpin Pictures
JestersHK replied to Mississippi Man's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Haha, I try to limit my bragging John but this big girl ate the one I posted on page one... Duane's baits for me are totally dialed in perfectly for matching the source. His rainbow jerks match the small juvenile rainbows almost spot on. If you look back at some of my previous trips this past year you'll see plenty of examples of them in action. -

@duckydoty has a great formula going. They catch allot of fish. The rainbow patterns work really well too. Bone white or pearlescent white work really well when the shad are thick also. Nice looking baits. Those will catch fish for sure down there.
