  1. Dooooo Ittt! Can't catch them when you're not there. if you happen to wait till the following weekend... 2's better than one and all that. Don't forget my mad net skills. Lol
  2. That last one judging by his mouth looks like a pretty solid fish! Looking good buddy! 9 more days... And I'll be back to chasing them LOL. Have a full weekend this time, so gonna try to wear them out!
  3. Great looking bow right there. Love those thick tanks like that.
  4. Mine has a different fore-end/pump handle and a larger circumference chamber on it, but the sights breech trigger group and handle look identical. Great little shooters. Let me know if you find someone with the know how to rebuild the seals in them. Brand new they sure packed a whallop, and mine took its fare share of rabbits back in the day.
  5. Airguns have come a long way. Very impressive. My old Crossman killed allot of tree rats back in the day, but there were a bunch of misses in there too LOL. Still have my old Benjamin .22 pump pistol. Still shoots straight but def not as strong as it used to be... Needs a rehab on the seals most likely, but things 28 years old...
  6. That early morning bite still on fire? Nice to see them cleaning up on the Sculpins!
  7. Good luck! I'm gonna miss ya by a day... Get down on the 4th. Great way to spend a B-day
  8. I throw spooks, and they catch fish, but I had a few puppies I really loved. They'd catch the sunfish and even chubs. With some of our creeks it wasn't about the size we were trying to catch.
  9. Finally got around to getting gear out of my car, totally forgot we found a fly rod at the boat ramp. PM me if you are missing one.
  10. Yes we did, except for me on tournament day LOL... I did get a sweet duck out of the whole deal which I am converting to a travelling trophy!
  11. Good luck as well! Awesome you are using a recurve. Wish I could still use a bow, but rotator cuff says otherwise...
  12. Funny you mention that my daughter was out with no shoes on and her ankles and feet got covered in them as well. Nasty little suckers... Our mosquitos are just awful as well and out pretty much 24/7. Gone through more bug spray this year than ever...
  13. Man, That was such a great day to start out with a wave over the back LOL. Good times buddy! Can't catch em when you're indoors
  14. Marty I truly miss my old zara puppies... Lost my last one a few years ago, and have missed a few on ebay here and there. Those little half sized zara spooks were magic for fishing the creeks. Just saying if a certain individual were to make some hand crafted replicas there could be some demand LOL
  15. Stupid herons and buzzards always ruining a nice peaceful quiet evening LOL. I've encountered all different kinds of wild life on my night time adventures down there. This was only the 2nd time I've ever felt on edge. First time was a couple drunks who came tearing into the parking lot at 2:30am and drove right up on us as we were just getting back to our car.
  16. I think I'll stick to being more worried about the MDC's data security protocols than what they are doing with the data...
  17. Looks like a nice spot ya got there. I might try to get out with the cooler temps this weekend if the rain holds off. Most of my buddies who hunt have all just shot freezer fillers so far. The ones who waded through the ticks and mosquitos that is. No big ones yet!
  18. Nice fish man, and I can vouch that boat has fished in the snow LOL
  19. I said this in my other thread, and before, but Duane has truly matched the hatch with these baits so to speak. The Sculpin pattern has soo much detail in it, that the pics don't really do it justice. Need Phil to shoot some Macro shots with them. Travis I think you are heading in the right direction with painting those cranks. I know we trolled the big white cranks bouncing them on the bottom, I bet a sculpin painted one would be deadly.
  20. Never heard of MOMO that's a new one for me. Honestly not much bothers me out there at night. Fog creeps me out the most, not the usual whispy stuff, but that every once in a while thick soupy fog, but I think that's more to do with not being able to see. Mr. Schwarzenegger educated me as a young boy that "if it bleeds, we can kill it". But hard to make something bleed when you can't see 2 feet in front of your face lol.
  21. Pretty sure tears will be shed when I lose one... Brandon took one for a spin, and I told him if he snags up he better be ready to swim lol. The pictures of the sculpin don't do it justice. The pattern on them is really something special you got there good buddy!
  22. Thanks Phil and Marsha, as well as the whole Lilley's landing family for the hospitality today. Got to have lunch with some great folks, and boy was it delicious. I mean salmon 3 ways was just fantastic. Wish I could of stayed longer, but hope you guys keep the party going!
  23. So finally made it home. Thanks torrential downpour in grey summit for keeping me white knuckles and awake... So my buddy Brandon and I got down around 1245 or so. We had to spool some line and get situated so ended up in the water after 1. Started at the dam and worked our way down to the outlet. Zip, nada, zilch... We were the only two crazies there and apparently the fish left too lol. Turns out fish were there. Had a few bumps on the DOF ( Doty Original Flavor) but despite the sharp hooks never connected. They were running a half unit all night. Interesting flow and one I haven't fished too much, but I decided we would hit the flats past outlet 2. Again, we stuck out. We fished 3 different size sticks, fished them fast, slow, medium, but they were being picky for some reason. 3rd stop we headed down to boat ramp, and went downstream a bit. Rocks are nasty down there and I slowly made my way out while Brandon was fishing from the ramp. That's when things got weird... So PSA for you night fisherman. Fog was super thick, headlamps, even red, were useless and we started hearing something splashing in the water. At first I figure maybe a dear was out there or something, but then it kept starting and stopping. Almost like a person walking in the current. I got out of the rocks and made my way over to the ramp and we walked down a bit to edge of the woods there to see if we could determine what it was. Then there was a noise like 2 big rocks banging together then a splash like a rock being thrown in the water. Then more thrashing around in the water... We stood there, in the thick fog no longer talking, and really focusing our hearing in the darkness. We tried our lamps in between fog waves to see if we could see eyes, but by this point it was a bit eery. My biggest concern down there at night has always been 2 legged critters, but this had my neck hair standing up so we decided to head back to car. Brandon jokingly ask how many bullets I have and I told him I only needed one so I could run faster than him lol. I spend a ton of time in woods and water in the dark, enough to know that when your Spidey senses tingle you may want to listen. At lunch today I was relating this to Bill Babler and he said may have been a bear foraging. It very well could of been, but may have been a Sasquatch for all we'll ever know. So after that ordeal we took a quick power nap and decided we'd go back when we had some daylight. It wasn't until grey Dawn arrived that we finally caught fish. First me then Brandon, both on the DOF. Real pretty bows, but nothing huge. Brandon actually had a huge hit that about ripped the rod out of his hands but he was asleep at the wheel and missed it. Caught a few more then ran into Duane and his party. He swung his boat over and I got to see and handle a new DOSF. S is for for sculpin! I caught a few more, missed 3 or so on the DOSF, and a few on the jig. Once the sun was all the way out it shut down totally for us. We decided to call it around 11 as I had a cheesecake running low on ice. Overall a pretty subpar trip for me. Saw a few rainbows maybe 18 to 19, but no Walters caught, or brownies. Gonna have to get them in a few weeks I guess... Stay safe out there guys, and if you see Sasquatch tell him I said hi lol.
  24. Caught this guy... Caught him sleeping under Phil's dock lol. Frank the tank
  25. Haha nope, got our butts kicked lol. I'll post when I get home here in a few
