  1. Looks like an awesome trip John! Glad you two were able to make it out. Did Livie outfish ya again? It's a good problem to have IMO
  2. Look at all them tenderloins! Filling the freezer shouldn't be a problem for ya
  3. That's awesome!
  4. Wow... amazing fishery we have. One day... I hope to get a shot at landing one of these sea monsters.
  5. Thanks John for the pics and taking them lol. I'm a poor multitasker and never take enough. I wish I could of called the shot on that big small mouth in that hole, but I think he may have moved on. Can't wait for next trip!
  6. Yeah, I only landed one those 2 nights. And that one came on the top water beetle. It's always been hit or miss on them for me. If they are generating at night and you are throwing sticks then that has been my best pattern for successfully catching them.
  7. All wade fishing.
  8. Had the pleasure of meeting up with John and his daughter on Saturday to fish a creek out my way. I brought my oldest with me too, and we had a blast! There fish didn't quite cooperate how I wanted them too, but we definitely had a great multi species trip. Liv stole the day with a ton of species caught, as well as some turtles, frogs, toads, and lizards to boot. Overall just an awesome day spent in the water with our kiddos. My daughter's already asking when we can meet up and go fish again. John's got the bulk of the pics, but here's a few to get started. Really glad we could finally sync up!
  9. Still owe some pics of my beetle pattern, but they were hammering then on top last weekend at night.
  10. I've been shooting a few arrows outta the crossbow in anticipation. I like John have had a fast and furious year, but can't wait to get out in the woods with all dem bugs, ticks, and chiggars LOL. Nice photos too btw!
  11. Haha, yep. You certainly have a knack for it!
  12. Thanks for sharing! Great looking scenery there.
  13. Thank you for putting these together! I always enjoy your vids, and hope maybe one day I'll put in a 1/10th of the effort you do making my own LOL!
  14. Thanks Phil for the info. I had one that took me a good 10 minutes for him to get back to normal. He was a good fighter and I had to take my time more than usual with the fly rod... Overall this past weekend fish fought hard though, I mainly just took pics in the net, and keep them in the water, minus the one my buddy caught that we measured. That one was a beast though and took off like a rocket.
  15. Dang that's a bummer. Thanks for the update Flysmallie for us non facebookers
  16. Man that's an awesome fish. Any details on the catch, location, release?
  17. Pics of this beast are needed!
  18. Big foam beetles. I'll send ya a pic when I get home. The smaller ones I think I got at BP. The bigger ones I got in North Carolina and they call them fat alberts I think.
  19. Thanks buddy, can't wait till we get to hit it again together. Much better night tonight. That last big bow gave me an awesome fight. Big jumps and fought really hard for an 18incher. Never threw a stick tonight that's how good the top water bite was... never had a night like that, but it was great and wore out the old elbow lol. The wildlife tonight was out in force too. Saw the half drowned skunk, herons everywhere, deer and rabbits, and 2 ginourmous crawdads. Had to be close to 5 inches...
  20. Bigger beetle bigger fish.
  21. The top water bite in the flat water past outlet 2 is on fire tonight. I'm over 20 fish already with a few real solid bows. They are just crushing a foam beetle pattern in the moon light... Def a ton of fun
  22. Finally a brownie. First one of the weekend
  23. I'll see you possum and raise you a half drowned baby skunk... Def a wild weekend lol
  24. Hahaha, that's awesome. Bet Jackson would of had a field day, but those possums can carry nasty stuff...
