Finally stopped raining here about an hour ago. More coming this weekend... never gonna end it seems. It's good knowing I'm not the only crazy one to fish in the rain.

So according to the core website it looks like they lowered flood gate release down to 1000cfs? Did they close some gates completely, or just closed them all a little bit? Will that prevent fish from coming through? Curious to how all that works. I do know they can variably open and close them. Just wondering if they almost shut them if fish still make it through?

The few times I've lucked out and got down there right when they shut them it's been game on! You can catch them while they are open too from a boat. Can't wait to hear back from your trip up there!@Phil Lilley

Was Duane wade fishing the narrows on the fly rod? Looks like a similar flow to what they ran a few weeks ago. The half unit or whatever was interesting, but we personally had trouble finding where they stacked up with that flow.

Heck yeah! Both of us would definitely be down for that my friend! I think if we had a handfishing class she'd take us all to school LOL.

Hit same pond, broke off the last jig setup I was using... Went to a smaller grub on an 1/8 head in white. Started catching some nice fat gills. Really enjoying the finesse jig fishing on the ultralights. The buggy whips sure get a nice bend in them when you get hooked up. Plus it's hard to beat being able to feel just about everything. My buddy is primarily a bass fishermen, but I'm working on him to go smaller and use less rod to land more fish.

I sense a father daughter shootout in the future! Glad to see you guys got out on the water. Stayed in this weekend with all the crummy rain here... Also glad to see her hand fishing skills transferred from state to state! Tell her Nice job for me!

Looks awesome, and I too want a post fish fry report. Glad you were able to get out buddy. That rig looks good, but pretty sure i'd be pulling my hair out fighting that from getting Tangled up or hung up lol

I agree this is bugging me out! Had a work team out in Idaho stay in the local mining town 1 star hotel. The whole team of 5 got covered in Bedbug bites and also a double wammy of head lice... We stay 45 minutes off site now at a bed and breakfast after that adventure. Never got bit by bed bugs, but have gone through 2 cycles of head lice coming home from my 3 girls schools. Lice suck! The washing and drying of all the things, and then the $600 at Lice Busters to get them all out of the long hair... Also brought some chiggars into my bed one time. That sucked too. The skin so soft from earlier in the day on my ankles made them move up north once they got in the bed sheets...

Sounds like a nice day Mr. BH! Glad you guys found a few to catch. This "Spring" has got to be one of the windiest that I can remember. I keep a close eye on the wind expectations for windows where I can get out on a flat day, but man it seems its just been brutally windy for the past month or so at least in my AO...

Work has really sucked for me the past couple months. Had crap meetings this afternoon get pushed out to tomorrow, so said what the heck and punched out at noon. Wife went with me to a few of our subdivision ponds. First pond was a bust, but the second one granted me a nice crappie and then 3 little stinking bass. The 3rd one put up a decent fight at least. Hooked him way across the pond lol. Caught fish on a ned head with a twin twister tail. Pretty slow retrieve. Caught fish on a small crawdad crank too just barely cranking her in. Over all wife and I got in a nice walk. Wind sucked, but was nice to get out for a bit just me and her before kiddos came home. She tried to fish, but she mainly just goes to support me lol.

Sounds like he gave ya the bug! John is a heck of a fisherman, and I'll agree with ya the man has dedication to his craft! It is very rewarding however when you finally catch the fish you've been pestering for 10 minutes to hit those tiny little hooks! Then theres the sheer amount of different species most are oblivious to that make up the fish ecosystem. One things for sure I definitely notice the small fish allot more now when I'm out. I'm not nearly as dedicated, but I'll chase them every once in a while and bust out my lip gloss bag! Glad you got to fish with Liv too! She's an awesome kiddo and she can flat out catch em big or small like her dad! Plus all the other critters in the stream she can catch.

Stinks the fish didn't cooperate but I'm sure you 2 had a great time together. Fishing with kiddos is best fishing.

That looks like an awesome time buddy! And no doubt if there are turtles Liv will be catching them. Suprised she didn't done in after the bigger ones lol. Looks like a great multi species day. Nice looking creek too.

Livie is a fish catcher for sure! As well as frogs, lizards, pretty much any other critter in the stream LOL. Can't wait to see some after action reports Gavin!

That's awesome. Cute kiddos too! Got a box and vest going for my oldest daughter. Can't wait for a decent stretch of nicer weather so we can get out and chase em.
