  1. Do you know the measurements on this hog?
  2. Thanks for the report. The water looks beautiful, as does elephant rocks. $10 for a shuttle is pretty sweet, I usually pay around 30.
  3. Thanks for the report. I looked at the gauges last night and decided to stay home today. Those are some nice smallmouth and photos. What kind of camera did you take those with?
  4. Coincidentally, that's why I fish rivers too.
  5. Well I'm glad you're ok, love reading your reports. Things like this can happen anytime, we all get comfortable and forget about the dangers. It's easy to see your passion for smallmouth, rivers, and fishing in general. Those are things that are important no matter how many scars you face has. Now to you Mitch Craw tycoons, when am I going to be able to purchase some? I think it's been a year since I first asked, so I figured I'd pry some more. Glad you're ok, and hope you're back on some Smallies soon.
  6. I've always wanted to try that creek, but the water always seems too small. Looks like I was wrong. Probably best during high water.
  7. There is no reason to make a bad situation worse. This guy is an idiot.
  8. Thanks for the report and for reminding me I haven't fished the Big yet this year.
  9. Best cheap hot sauce is valentinas. If you want something a little different check out RADS barrel aged, lots of garlic.
  10. Beautiful fish, thanks for the report. On a side note, you look really familiar. Do you play music around St. Louis?
  11. I floated below the trout area on Sunday and it was running at about 800 and muddy. Fishing wasn't great.
  12. Thats what I want to hear. Have the next two days planned for Creek and river time.
  13. Now that's a battle! Glad you were able to bring it in. Thanks for the report.
  14. Was able to make it down to the Huzzah today to do some wading. Despite the heat, the fish were still pretty active. Only a few floaters on the water, which made things a lot more pleasant than my last trip. Long cast were key in the clear water. At the first hole, I landed two. One was a chunky 14in, and the other went 16in (biggest of the day). After that pulled in 6 more in the 12-14 in range. Each one of those came in different spots. All the fish landed today came on Senko's and crawl patterns. Nothing on the buzz bait and had a blow up on a Zara puppy, but it didn't come back for a second hit. The best looking hole of the day produced no fish, even though I could see them. All in all, it was a good day, and I ended it with a nice swim to cool down. -Mike
  15. Your daughter clearly is thrilled to be fishing with her pops. Thanks for the report.
  16. Thanks for the report. Looks like a greattime. I need to get out and do an overnight soon.
  17. This seems really basic to me, but fish would rather have an easy meal and spend less energy, if the opportunity prevails itself. That being said, I throw it all until something works, and then I stick with it.
  18. Sounds like a blast. Nice fish and good looking creek.
  19. Thanks for the info fellas. When I arrived back at little Indian Creek CA, there was a car with both the windshield and back window were smashed out. Not worth all that. I'll try my luck around the low water bridges along the Huzzah and Courtois next time.
  20. After unsuccessfully trying to find public access to Indian Creek, I found myself at Little Indian Creek CA. Waded downstream quite aways. Water was moving swiftly, and running a little high. Caught nothing but sunfish, and not very many at that. Really had me wishing I could have found some account Big Indian Creek. Just looked like more promising water, even though it was also running high. By the time I got back to the CA upstream, there must have been 60 people there. I guess that explains the trash that kept floating down stream. Not much of a report, but at least I tried. If anyone knows of public access to Big Indian Creek, feel free to PM me.
  21. I was wondering what is a good level for wading the upper meramec? I haven't been able to find much information on average flows, just current flows. My guess is wading would be fine up to about 200 cfs, but have never fished the upper reaches of this river. Riverview is as far upstream I've fished. Thanks for any feedback.
  22. Nice fish fellas. I haven't went for smallies yet this year, it hurts. Inspiring me to get out on the water.
  23. I have a pair of simms rip rap wading shoes, and I love them. Water drains quickly with very few rocks getting in. A few rocks do still get in though. I think if paired with wading socks, it would eliminate all rocks.
  24. Thats a great catch. Congrats
  25. Good looking fish. Give it a month and I'm sure I'll be frequenting the stream. Thanks for the report.
