  1. Abk, what a good shot you are. The silencer worked. Lol Mike
  2. Cheese, I have been busy and not a lot of time to use the computer. Hopefully things will ease up. Mike
  3. Jeff, almost non-existent. We saw 2" shad hitting the bank everywhere. We mainly concentrated on fish in that 8-20 ' range. Mike
  4. Champ, I think that so far this year the term "clear water" has a new meaning for TR. IMO Mike
  5. Patlock and I got out Saturday morning for a couple of hours. We put in at Moonshine and headed to that cove on the other side of the island a little south of the dam. I was determined to catch a fish on a swimbait and finally a nice KY hit my lure. This picture is from a small cove past the dock with the green roof. The fish hit it hard, I set the hook and my 12 # Fluoro broke at the reel. Luckily a large amount of line floated so I was able to grab the line to retrieve my lure. To my surprise this fish was still hooked. That little cove must have dumb fish. For the couple of hours we were out, we only caught this one keeper but managed to catch 8 other short LM and one short SM on the little guy and a crank bait. Mike
  6. Spint, holding a derby on a holiday weekend means it is time to get a new calendar. You guys must like the adventure. By the way, thank you for the information. Mike
  7. Quill, another great report. Well done Mike
  8. And that is why I use 50# braid on topwater lures. Mike
  9. Hammer, well done! Thank you for the information. Mike
  10. Jeff, I was joking about coming over to Big M. That is another hour drive from the dam area and I'd rather spend that drive time chunking a lure. The dam area will be crowded but we can get out early on Sunday and Monday and get off the water before the boaters wake up. If anyone sees our maroon and silver Ragin Cagin with the 150 Johnson near the dam area, stop by and say hi. We proudly display the OAF sticker on the driver's windshield. Good luck to all this weekend and be careful. Mike
  11. Heading out Sunday and Monday morning for the early bite. Looks like I'll be heading to the big M area. Quill, thanks for the pictures. Well done Mike
  12. Nick, thanks for the report on the night fishing. Mike
  13. Richy, congratulations to all the KBS anglers. I saw one near the Moonshine ramp when I was taking out. Interesting to watch him fish from his Kayak. I read the scoring rules and it is pretty interesting how thorough they are. The way KBS does the CPR process leaves little to criticize. Mike
  14. MIke, nice jag of fish. Sounds like fighting the boat traffic was worth it for a few hours. Well done. Mike
  15. moguy1973, I had that problem at the beginning with the WP but through experimentation I found that if I let the bait hit the water and sit for a second to stabilize, the bait stays on top and works fine. Not sure if that was the issue but that waiting to settle sure cured the problem for me. Mike
  16. Bill, thank you for the information. I had my Dixie jet ready Saturday but I got out after the fog. My bad. Reading some other reports tells me I should have went out early in the fog. I'll try it again next Sunday and Monday. Mike
  17. Thanks for the report from the new area. Mike

Hungry females craving food while waiting for the right time. Sounds familiar. Nice and healthy looking. Thank you for the information. Mike
  19. Thanks for the information. Post spawn fish? Mike
  20. Quill, thank you for the report. Sounds like a fun time for a while at least. Looks like the rain suits will get used for the next couple of weeks. Mike
  21. Ham, that tail is showing signs of the spawn. Very healthy looking fish. Thank you for the information. Mike
  22. I have not been across it since they removed the jersey barriers but prior to that I drove over it a number of times pulling my boat. My strategy was to go slow and watch the driver's side. If I keep it close on that side, then the passenger side should be okay. But in any case it certainly raises the blood pressure when you first enter the bridge deck. Mike
  23. Ben, tapping the photo does enlarge it now on the iPhone. Thanks Mike
  24. Thanks, I'll say it again, great data points. Mike
  25. Ben, On the iPhone 6 I only get Save, copy or cancel. Mike
