Sorry I'm a couple of days late but I finally managed to get in a couple of hours of fishing on Wednesday. I got to the Big M ramp around 9am. Spent a good 45 minutes talking to a local resident angler, Jim Clay who was launching also. He's retired from UPS and been living on TRL for about 3 years. After swapping stories, I launched and headed to Rock Creek. WT was 42.7 to 43.8. I fished a jerk bait the entire length of the bluff entering Rock Creek. No love there. I picked up a Ned at the end of the bluff and caught a nice 16" LM on the 3rd cast in <10 fow. I motored to the other side of the cove and began fishing that bluff with the Ned. Caught 2 KYs in the next 10 minutes both in <10 fow. One was a small keeper and the other was a 13". I could not feel the bite on the 3 fish rather I just felt tension and set the hook. I fished the rest of the bluff but no love there either. The wind picked up and I decided to head for the ramp. I took out at 11:30am. There were 4 other boats that launched from Big M that morning. It was nice to finally get on the water even for only a short time. I usually fish the dam area but I wanted to get a look at the low water around Big M. Looks pretty good up there. On the way back, I dropped my boat at Ulrich Marine to have them install my new electronics and give my motor a check up since it is an older Johnson 150.
