  1. Alex, nice fish and healthy looking too. 10:30am......hmmm.....that's when most of us give up due to the humidity and the pleasure boaters. Congratulations another nice fish. You must have a ton of waypoints marking all the >5 lb fish you've caught in the past couple of years. Well done. Mike
  2. Quill, those will make a couple of very good sandwiches. Nice adjustment. Mike
  3. Let me add that when Ben started this at Table Rock, I found it to be very useful information. He has since enhanced it to the point that I check it when I am planning my next fishing trip. It helps me decide which area of the lake I want to fish. Now that it is up and running at Table Rock, I can see the water clarity, water temps and other data just by checking the Angler Spy site. I only fish LOZ once a year but I am excited to see that Ben is expanding. For all of you who fish it on a regular basis, you will be amazed at the data and pictures you will see. And do not be afraid to provide him suggestions for improvement. He really listens to other fisherman. Mike
  4. Quill, another good outing for you. Thank you for the info and the pictures look like very healthy fish. Mike
  5. Bo, you and Linda really got into them given the heat. Nice pictures. How did the camera work out? Mike
  6. rps, you sure have the knack on those walleye. Nice picture. Thanks for sharing the information. Mike
  7. chi, click on the browse tab at the top and then you sill see on-line users. click on that and it shows everyone who is browsing now and recently. Mike
  8. I had that happen on a 130 but upon inspection I found that there was a piece of debris that got caught in the joint. It caused the front to roll and twist my line. I removed the debris and it worked fine. I do realize that I have to let the WP hit the water, float back to the top and then begin to reel. Otherwise it does not spin correctly for the first 5-10 feet. Mike
  9. Every now and then I browse to see who is currently on line on the forum. I've noticed a lot of guest lurkers recently. I am relatively new to the forum (about a year) but I have learned so much from the poeple here. I encourage every one of the guests to sign up as a member because the exchange of reports, comments and sharing of knowledge benefits everyone. I'm sure you have knowledge to share. So c'mon become a member! Mike
  10. Amen Champ. Thank you. I'm retired from Law enforcement but my heart goes out to them for what they have to endure every day. Mike
  11. So are you saying that if someone fishes with you long enough they not only catch fish like you but they begin to look like you? lol Mike
  12. Bo, glad to hear they are still biting at night. You sure cannot deny that you two are related. He looks just like you. Mike
  13. rps, still teaching, eh? Mike
  14. Smalliebigs, great looking and healthy SMs. I totally agree on Dave's heads. I keep 2 rods rigged with different color Neds at all times on the deck. Mike

    7-2 Dam Area

Let me clarify, I'm talking about the Old 86 Ramp off Dale Rd off 265/165, not the one on the other side of the lake by the campground. It is in Jakes Branch. Mike
  16. Nice pictures. But now a 4 pound bass won't seem like much to her in the future. lol Congratulations on the hybrid too. Mike
  17. Well, I drove over to old 86 ramp to put in about 5am Saturday morning. It was raining pretty good. As I drove to the curve right were the ramp starts I noticed a Red SUV parked on the ramp facing the water. People must have been sleeping it off because they did not respond to my lights flashing or the horn. So I went over to Moonshine and put in there. I fished the cove next to point 1. There were 4 other boats in there so I decided to fish out from the docks on the left side heading into the cove. I noticed a few balls of shad over deeper water and watched as the bass started busting them with a feeding frenzy. I caught a few short LMs and spots. After a while it stopped raining and I started throwing the horny toad. I had 5 blow ups on it that were hitting it short and ripped off the leg each time. So I concentrated on the shad balls. I tried a lot of different lures but eventually a small square bill crank bait worked. I managed to catch a good number with one keeper in the picture attached. This was going well and I was sitting right out from 2 docks waiting for the next blow up. All of a sudden a rental pontoon from the state park marina loaded with adults came into the cove and appeared to want to park at one of the docks. I stopped fishing for a minute to allow him to park. But he did not park rather he drove between the two docks and turned around between me and the bank. Then they headed back out pushing water and i knew it was time to leave. Anyway I was able to fish for a couple of hours with my plan B, caught a few shorts and a nice keeper on a square bill. Mike
  18. Donna, you can't fix stupid. Mike
  19. Bo, I see that your pet is still pointing out where to fish. Thank you for the report. Well done. Nice healthy LM too. Mike
  20. Splitg2, I used to tie my buzz baits to the radio antenna on the way to the lake. Pinch the rivet just like you said. Makes a different sound for sure. Good old school trick. Mike
  21. Cheese, sounds like you got into them. Mike
  22. Trophy, I get out at first light around 5:15am. I'm heading to the ramp around 9am to take out. I have a game plan and stick to it rather than cruising the lake. Sometimes the plan works and sometimes it doesn't. The information on the forum helps me as does the Angler Spy site that Ben created. Mike
  23. Ham, I'm hoping that the rain will delay their arrival. Mike
  24. Great information from all of you. Bill, the expressions on the faces and the healthy fish tells a wonderful story. Your colorful narrative just adds the right amount of commentary. Well done and thank you. Mike
  25. Bill, well done. Pictures show very healthy fish. Your information is always a very interesting read, full of between-the-lines details. thank you. I hope that TW bite hangs around the dam at least through Saturday morning. Mike
