Live night crawler on dropshot. 20-35 ft on gravel run-outs. Should catch bass walleye and gills. Will definitely need some sonar to zero in on the spot.
Less than 2k for a very effective livescope setup. I was really doubting how much it helped right after purchase but now that I have used it quite a bit it can't be beat for these deep water fish and deep water crappie at Truman.
That sounds just exactly like the fish I found yesterday morning. With a live scope you could set and mess with them and find the one that was most interested in it and target him and sometimes get him to bite.
We found a point like that today on walleye out of ants Creek they would not bite as well but we caught 10 or so were assuming the rest of them on our screen or walleye and like you our livescope was just covered with fish they just wouldn't bite that well. And the wake boats finally beat us off the water at noon.
We fished the Indian point area every morning from daylight till about 930-10 am. We only dropshotted night crawlers I had my 6 year old with me. We scratched out 6-8 keepers probably caught 12-15 each trip mostly spots every morning and several nice walleye. The last morning we hit the mother load of GIANT blue gills. All fish were in the 24-35 ft range off points. I found several on my livescope in tree tops but I never could get them to bite. Most fish I found either hit it right away when I put it in front of them or if they didn't. it took a lot of jigging the nightcrawler in their face to either spur them to bite or another came racing in off the screen to nail it. I hope someone can use this info.
I caught them on a crawler drop shot rig this weekend. 3-6 fish on each good point before they were gone 20-30 fow from daylight till noon. Oddly enough 70 percent small mouth. The rest were spots.
Thanks for the help limited out 2 days in a row. With found them fairly easy with what we thought should work I appreciate all the help on this site thanks.... It's sarcasm... But we did catch a lot of fish.
Most people hate drop shot fishing. But I just love it. I hope it starts this weekend. I felt like last weekend I saw some fish on the graph that were staged up for the drop shot but I just didn't have time to try it and other bites were working well.
I have been catching several Bass the last day or two throwing swimbaits and ned rigs on gravel. I have located a lot of Bass in a cluster of trees in 20 fow about 10 ft down. Swim baits and neds seem to get hung up before I can get down to the fish. Any suggestions on a method to get after these fish? Drop shot maybe?
I am definitely no electronics or table Rock Bass fishing expert. but where are you on the lake if you are near me I am planning on doing a lot of fishing tomorrow we caught several today. And I would show you my screen or look at yours and we could see what we could figure out. I am 36 years old. If that makes a difference.
I bought one a couple weeks ago and have only had it out once at pomme. So I am sure I don't know how to use it yet but the beam is so narrow I had a hard keeping it looking at anything.
