Put in at Cape Fair marina around 1:30. Holy smokes was it windy! It was also the first day of the year that I've been able to be on the water in shorts so that was nice. We've been fishing that pond to the east almost exclusively all winter and this was actually the first time I'd been on Table Rock in months. We surfed the waves over to Piney and went all the way to the back of the creek. 2 reasons...I thought there might be fish trying to bed back there with the water temp at 66 degrees, and also we thought we'd save the batteries and let the wind blow us down the bank. Between the 2 of us it was a pretty good day. The fish were most definitely not at the back of the creek, but about the middle third. Every single bass that we landed was on a blue herring spinnerbait with a sight flash colored keitech trailer. We caught 16 on that one bank and only 2 were shorts. Every fish but one yesterday was a largemouth, with the other a kentucky. All in all I'd say the best 5 were somewhere in the 16lb range with the biggest weighing in at 5.4. Only one pic of my buddy because I'm dumb and didn't charge the phone. I wish I'd have gotten out earlier, but man I do love a spinnerbait bite.

I'll have to bow out at this point unfortunately. I'm going to have to work that day.

Agreed. I normally let stuff that's stupid like this go because it's online and people say dumb stuff online, but this just pissed me off when I read it. There's no place for that anywhere.

There in lies the problem...I have multiple BPS bags full of those clam shells in both the truck and the garage.

I always buy a ton of the Speed Shads when they drop below $4 a pack during sales. They're not as flexible as a Keitech, but IMO much more durable. I like both, but only buy the knock offs when they're on a big sale. That includes the Rage Tail ones. As far as storage, I bought a boat bag that's dedicated to nothing but these guys and my ned supplies.

I would guess that they'll spawn a little later on this lake just due to the water temps, but if the water up Bull Creek gets anywhere near 60 degrees soon, I'd say they'll go way up in there.

Sounds about the same as what we had on Wednesday. We ran all the way to Bear creek and really struggled until it started pouring around 10. I think we had 9 LMB and 3 brown ones. 8 keepers for around 15 lbs. All came on either a shaky head, spider jig, and the A-rig. It was pretty slow other than that hour in the rain though. The crappie didn't cooperate at the brush piles that we tried either.

I throw most of my cranks on a 7'0 Med Shimano Compre wrapped with Winn grips, a Lew's LFS in 5:4:1 (I believe,) and either 10lb Pline flouro or 12 ib Big Game mono. I also have a faster setup with a Lew's 7:1:1 on a 7'0 Berkely Emotion in MH.

I'd add that you need a red craw color on the RK Crawler. I'll also highly recommend grabbing 2-3 Bandit 200 cranks as well. When everyone is beating the banks with the WW and the Crawler, I have great luck with a Bandit 200.

I'll be there as long as I don't have to work. It's also Earth Day so prepare yourselves accordingly.

Trying to take my son to get into the white bass this weekend. I've been hearing some talk about lots of whites in the Neosho and Spring rivers over the last couple of weeks. I know it's not Table Rock related, but anybody have any info to pass along? I'd like to get him into some faster action and thought that was probably the way to go right now.
