  1. I think to protect possible browns spawning. I drove to that last parking area by the cable and there were no signs. I usually start past the cable but I hopped in right there by the parking lot. It was first thing in the morning. The ranger was really cool about it.
  2. Here we go...šŸ˜‚
  3. Isn't that zone in the campground closed in the winter? It used to be because I unknowingly was fishing down there above the cable and nice park ranger informed me of my mistake. He was very nice about it.
  4. I knew that wouldn't take long. Nice rig!
  5. I don't like beads if I can get by without them. I wrap the whole shank with lead wire. No problem with the hair sliding and the fly stays "flatter" in the water too. Nice tie though, thx.
  6. My buddy at work was looking for a new truck pre Covid. So the both of us tried to find the best deal at the same time. All online through dealers. He got a great deal from Laura in Sullivan. Had to drive a little ways but it was significantly better than anything else we found. I think it was close to $2k better. Ford F-150 btw. It was fun too.
  7. Technically you could. Oneshot could ignore Oneshot 1 and vice Versa šŸ˜‚
  8. He’s got a 15 year on another one.
  9. Squirrels are a highly underrated foe. Not by me though 😐
  10. I could stand in the middle of the boat on the floor and use the FOB but like I said. Catching them on a fly rod isn't the be all, end all for me. I actually think day in day out the strikes are better on gear. Not every time but more often.
  11. Obviously but the pedal and cable are still there.
  12. It wouldn't be so bad if I was on a lake but on the river in current it's tough to fly fish and keep the boat in position.
  13. I haven't seen Leonard on the river in years. Is he still around?
  14. Trolling motor pedal alone is bad enough
  15. Man you gotta try a reel like @fishinwrenchposted. Crazy light. The fly line and backing might weigh more than the reel.
  16. That’s a nice one!
  17. Sometimes I get tired of line management and worse of all is light line for trout. I was on the Colorado river with 10 pound tippets on nymphs. Now that’s something I can get behind!!!
  18. I wanted to get comfortable in my boat and it’s easier with conventional gear. I grew up fly fishing. Literally from 3-4 years old flinging yarn around with a rod tip. It’s great but I guess I just don’t share your enthusiasm with it. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
  19. Easy there chief. I want to start fly fishing for Smallies this year and don’t want to start a whole nether pile of tying materials. I’m gonna buy some to see if I like it.
  20. $2 bucks originally. Got up to $5 and they closed shortly after that. They got tired of chasing people that didn’t pay.
  21. Yeah I camped there dozens of times and fished it probably over a 100.
  22. It might sound crazy but I got tired of titling and selling them all over and over.
  23. Some people might scoff at this but I was a huge Pontiac fan. Sad day when GM quit making them and kept the Buick line instead.
  24. When I worked at GM I bought a BUNCH of vehicles off the old personal employee program. PEP. Managers and execs put 3000 to 5000 miles on them and they would go into the pep program for 40% off sticker. Since they got to order whatever they wanted they were always loaded up high end models. Lots of Vettes, caddies and trucks. I would buy at least one every year if not 2.
