    I think the easiest way to ID a cottonmouth is to look at it's head. They remind me of the front end of a vette with the fenders higher than the hood. Common water snake heads are rounded.

    I've been vacationing at TR for 50 years and this last Labor Day was the first time we left the water due to the crowds and the waves. When a 21 foot runabout is too small to be safe it's over for us. There must of been 6 wake boats in Long Creek right at the state line and I'm telling you it was unbelievable the rollers that were in there. Ruined our day.

    I don't like to bass fish when the bluegill keep dragging my bait to shore to mate with it.

    I fished a small private lake in the area this weekend and the bluegill were attacking everything I threw. They were also up in 6 inches of water making babies.

    The only problem I've had catching fish down there is getting up early enough. Happy hour runs a little longer on vacation at the beach.

    Plenty of beach action real early and late. Throw a Johnson spoon as far you can. Never know what you'll get. Ladyfish mostly, maybe a redfish.
