  1. Thanks Wrench! I used butt connectors and left the wiring as is. Ill see if it heats up on either end that is not inside the hull.
  2. What Ham said plus I do the same thing in my yard. I walk around and lay out all the line on the spool in grass then wind it back in. The grass gets the twist out just like water. Of course you look like an idiot walking around the back yard with a fishin pole.
  3. Blackened Salmon last night.
  4. That crust looks perfect to me. Like the pizza you get in Brooklyn out of coal fired oven. Yum!
  5. Correct, fire was in the wire nuts. I'm going to pull some 4 AWG wire through it to replace the 10. Do they sell plugs like that rated up tp 50 or 60 amps? Thanks Wrench!!
  6. Hey Wrench,

Could you please take a look at my post in the Boat Help section?

Before I start experimenting I'd appreciate some professional help.

    Thanks, Pete

  9. Thanks Dave. What about the wire nuts? Do they need to be 60 amp rated?
  10. Today I was fishing like usual in my 8' pond prowler (yacht) when I looked down to see my wiring smoking. This is what I have. 8' prowler wired to put battery in back and troller in front. It has an adapter plug to plug in the motor up front and the marine wire nuts were near flames. Limped back to the truck on low so it didn't start on fire. I've been fishing this setup for 3 years. I have a Minn Kota Endura C2 55 lb thrust, a Bass Pro XPS power series AGM deep cycle 140 battery. The plug receptor up front says Max 30 amp draw. The wires say 10 AWG Marine SAE J378C 105C J1128 GPT 60 volt maximum. There is a squeeze on yellow dealio 12-10. Since the boat is 8' long that is how long the wiring is. The wire nuts were nearly in flames. I looked at the manual for 55 lb thrust and it says; Max Amp Draw 50, Circuit Breaker 60 Amp@12 VDC, Wire Extension 10 ' 6 AWG. I bought this whole setup at one time from Bass Pro from one of the people that work there. Pics attached and please let me know what's wrong. Thanks, Pete
  11. I'm afraid of squirrels. Don't know why, just am. Monkeys, clowns, snakes, spiders Pfft.
  12. I don't smoke and I don't like the no smoking laws. If I'm eating and don't want to smell it I don't go where smoking is going on. Kind of like this forum. If you don't like a specific thread, don't read it. Just don't tell me what to do. Pete
  13. Is it possible to make good crusty whole wheat bread?? i do not like doughy bread like Wonder bread. I like a crusty Italian bread but with whole wheat flour.
  14. Golfer. That explains the shorts.
  15. I think Greasy lives by me. I'll have to look out for those shorts in the hood.
  16. Looks like a northern banded water snake.
  17. Can somebody please turn those shorts off? They're killing my eyes.
  18. There's nothing with that lifestyle Ness, I just prefer a woman when handling my rod.
  19. Gar got my son's fluke yesterday. I was cracking up.
  20. This works. I used to skin leather seats at General Motors. Talk about wet dry cycle. They would steam the seat covers to loosen them up. We would skin them while they were warm and wet. I used to tell people about working the assembly line. The first 10 or 20 thousand weren't too bad but after that my hands hurt bad. Your skin would get soft from the heat and moisture and when pulling on the leather it felt like your skin was coming off. Then they would dry out severely and crack. Lube em up at bedtime and put on the gloves.
  21. Talk about fish in a barrel!! Grab your hotdogs and kids and get over there.
  22. Hot pocket!!
  23. Is she optically challenged?
  24. As tempting as that may be I'll have to pass. My company has a 4 acre lake in the back of the property that was stocked years ago with bass. Then the Mississippi flooded into it and nobody has fished it since. I'm taking the pond prowler over there this weekend.
