When I was a youngster we would trap them all the time in the summer. We used standup nets in small ponds. Bring them home and put em in a tub of fresh water to flush them out. Good eatin and fun when the fish weren't bitin.
Never fished or trapped Beaver. I've used bacon for crawfish traps for years. Well I used to, don't do it anymore. Works everywhere else not sure why it wouldn't work there. I'd spread em out shallow to deep and take note of the catch rate. Good luck and post up your catch and pictures.
We watched it for about 25' until it disappeared. She asked if I could swim down and get it.
It's about 40 yards to the west northwest of the bluff. Nice one too.
Always get a kick out of foolish anglers, especially the ones who think they need to immediately wade in waist high and stand where they should have been casting, LOL!
I prefer it, gives me room to fish behind them.
My current weber has seen better days
I was renting a house while building my current hone and it had a really old deck. Thing was kindling. Not a nice one like Ness's. I had just put some salmon on my weber and went into the house. I heard a noise outside and when I looked out the weber was down and glowing charcoal is all over the deck. The leg has rusted through the kettle and it slipped down and tipped over. I thought the whole deck was going up and I ran outside and got under it and got the hose going to put it out. My wife yells "what can I do to help?"
I said GRAB THE SALMON
I fish out of an 8' pond prowler and I had taken a work buddy fishing last week. He kept short lining the fish with the rod fully loaded and aimed at me. That crank bait didn't look good. I told him to aim it the other way or he's going for a swim.
