  1. They do this all over st louis county......and it works
  2. He led a hard life and it showed.
  3. He was a coal miner in Illinois and the local German community hated the Italians for taking their jobs. The company went to Italy and recruited workers but didn't tell them what they were in for from the current workers they would displace. KKK raided my families house a couple times back then. There is a book called Bloody Williamson County that details all of the violence. My grandpa was missing a few fingers as well as no teeth. He was responsible for dropping the link pin in between coal cars. If he wasn't fast enough it would chop his finger off. Needless to say he wasn't fast enough about 4 times I think. By the time he was old and literally decrepit he would sneak wine into every thing he could. But if grandma caught him she would smack him around and yell at him in Italian.
  4. Super Moon or Super tortilla?
  5. Won't generate a lot of discussion though. Never mind, it probably would here.
  6. My grandpa was from Italy and he ate a polenta type mush every morning too. He didn't have any teeth so it worked well for him. He would sneak chianti into it if grandma wasn't watching. But if she caught him she would smack him on the back of the head. Me and my brothers would crack up laughing and he would try and swat us with his cane if we got close enough.
  7. I shot this one right behind the wing for a heart shot.
  8. If you throw in a bug a salt rifle instead of a fly swatter and make it fun, you would kill them all in no time.
  9. Imagine that. When I as in high school and just out, my friends couldn't believe I would miss Halloween party's to go duck hunting. Don't be calling me a coot either.
  10. I live in Weldon Spring and saw them Saturday. By the looks of their flight path they came out of Spirit.
  11. I only do this when my son is hung up.
  12. My son was cracking up. The Nano was floating up in the air like kite string. No way it was fishable.
  13. I did a wood fire chicken last night. Oak and hickory mix. Put chicken on one side, fire on the other. Only took 30 minutes and it was great. I already ate a wing then snapped the picture. My wife slightly over cooked the veggy's.
  14. I thought you were on diet?
  15. At Hams recommendation I gave Nanofil a shot this year. After two trips I took it off. The stuff is worthless in the wind. Alberto knot is great. Straight 4 pound flouro for trout fishing, 10 pound on a medium spinning rod for flukes and stuff and 6 pound for the Ned on a St Croix rod Ham and Dave recommended. I love that St Croix Rod as much as my Helios flyrod.
  16. Just salt and wrap in paper towel if hasn't sat all night. Since my girls don't eat steak I get a charcoal chimney going with natural charcoal and put my grill directly on the chimney. Like Rick, when it's good and caramelized on both sides it's done. Hit with pepper and let sit for 10 minutes. Sometimes I put a little gorgonzola under it too. I've played with olive oil and rosemary for a tuscan style and that's good too.
  17. Just look at him. I thought it was obvious I was talking about the fish.
  18. That's a beauty!!
  19. Oh yeah me too!!
  20. Move along please, nothing here to see.
  21. I'm free Friday
  22. @snagged in outlet 3 staying at the lodge. Thursday and Friday night
  23. Kids and grandkids coming over. Steaks or BBQ like every year. I eat a turkey on whole wheat everyday for lunch so no turkey for us. Prime ribeye's usually.
  24. The powerline hole at Taney has been a go to spot for years.
  25. I don't need a picture just thought since you take a bunch of your "smorgasbord" fish you would have one. No big deal. I knew Gavin would chime in about pellet pigs or ditch pigs. Cracks me up.
