  1. Saturday afternoon on a float stream.................They will be seeing the a lot of "nature". My last float trip was quite a while ago after going floating for years. I was floating with my wife and we came around the corner to see two girls doing a strip tease on the gravel bar with a bunch of drunken idiots cheering them on. The trip before I was challenged to a fight by two drunks because I took offense to what they were saying to my wife. We quite after that and I really miss it. We had many great trips in the heat of the summer just relaxing and cooling off. Then the young drunks started showing up everywhere. Pete
  2. Don't forget pics of the bikini hatch in their native element.
  3. Z Man Zinker or Senko rigged whacky
  4. Can't go wrong with marabou jigs and some plastic stick baits.
  5. There is a subdivision lake near me with some decent bass in it. I'm fishing a fluke and a little kid comes down to fish next to me. H whips out a hot dog and chucks it in. I asked if he catches a lot of cats on hotdogs. He sets the hook and says " nope, lots of bass though". He caught 6 or 7 and moved on.
  6. A hopper huh? I'll have to try that. Yesterday I was out on a Missouri River Levey and the hoppers were thick.
  7. All the ones I've fished for that I could see were eating cottonwood fluffs on the surface. I would love to dial that in!! Otherwise it's blind casting since it's so muddy. I use a scud hook for the corn and a small bullet weight. When they pick it up you just slowly come tight on em similar to a strip set but obviously a spinning rod.
  8. I've caught hundreds on corn around here in muddy river sloughs but I've never been able to catch one on a fly. I tied up CDC feathers that looked just like cottonwood blooms that the carp were eating like nobody's business. I would cast it in front of one and he would just go to the next real bloom. I've tried buggers and nymphs too. No love there either. Of course these are very muddy lakes but they have hundreds on carp in them. Pete
  9. Interesting. I read the last few pages of Ecclesiastes every day. I always believed it written by Solomon because he asked God for great wisdom instead of wealth. Pete
  10. Come on!! I just had my daily turkey on whole wheat. I figure I've had that for lunch everyday for the last 20 years. That's 5,200 sandwiches just on work days. I'll post a picture of one next week.
  11. I've had them unwind after a couple fish.
  12. Did somebody say bacon??!!
  13. Only when it works in my favor
  14. I just hit the backspace button and it deletes it.
  15. It's yours now
  16. I would do this with my kids then huge catfish showed up to eat the small bluegill. Dropped a fluke in there and it was on.
  17. Well they certainly work on river hybrids!!!
  18. Crack me up That's what your neighbor's yard is for.
  19. My neighbor was walking his little lap dog in the subdivision when it started pulling him from behind harder than usual. My buddy was half a sleep and turned around to see an owl trying to eat it right off the leash. He had to kick it to got it to let go. The owl not the dog.
  20. Nice! Does the hook point ride up? I've tied them on offset hooks so the hook point rides up.
  21. Nice! I'm enjoying your reports. I was down Memorial week and had a big walleye chase a jig right up to me by the cable, twice. He never fully committed.
