Big Bass Tour - KVD Big Bass Classic - April 8-10th
STLbassbuster replied to Big Bass Tour's topic in Table Rock Lake
Thanks BBT for putting on a well run event. I have been fishing it every year since 2019. No checks this year but had a good time! Congrats to those who cashed checks during some challenging weather conditions. -
I fished the BBT event all 3 days. All my smallmouth were caught on the Ned rig In about 10-15ft of water. Indian point area. I did catch one at dawn on a jerkbait. Good luck and tight lines.

Nice fish when the lake had a lot of fishing pressure. I recently purchased one of those Ketch measuring boards, built like a tank! Tight lines

Bill, Over the winter months I have done a lot of searches on your old fishing posts that contain tips, tricks, and reports you learned along the way while fishing with your friend Mr. Beck. I have saved a lot of them. I plan to use some of that shared knowledge to put a few more TR fish in the boat this year. If you never took the time to post what you learned from Mr. Beck a lot of that knowledge would never have made it into the hands of other Ozark anglers. I know you mentioned Mr. Beck did not like typing out fishing reports. I see you were in a Champion boat in that picture, did Mr. Beck run a lot of Champions? I am a Champion junkie and run a 203 now.

Possibly, all depends on the tournament rules the person is fishing.

Bill how is the water clarity up the river arms with all the recent rain the area has got? What is the water visibility around the dam. Thanks!

They like to bite in the nasty weather!

You got It Phil. Where are you located? -
Up for sale is a locking Orvis display case. It is approximately 19” wide x 19” tall. Could be used to hang lures or would store a ton of fly tying materials. Double doors with locks (2 keys included) and has a base that spins. Very well made and weighs around 40-45 lb’s. Asking $250.00. Local pick up in Fenton MO or could possibly deliver to the Springfield MO area when I am down that way.

My dad and I came down Thursday to look at some spots and to do a little pre fishing. We put in and focused on little Indian. Wind was howling and white caps. We found some active fish keying in on bait in the back of a cove. Caught one 3 1/2 lb LM on the rig. Friday conditions were much different with low-moderate wind & sun. We started on a main lake point and my dad caught a 2lb LM on his first cast. Two casts later he caught a nice eye on the same spinnerbait. Boat was in 15ft and casting out to 25-30ft. As the sun came up We started to fish docks with shade on them. I was using a ball head jig with a weed guard and small green pumpkin creature bait. Fishing behind a dock a fish picked up my bait. My dad was ready with the net and it was a nice smallie! 4.03lbs on my scale. We caught a couple short fish the rest of the day. Saturday was again different and it was colder with strong winds. We were hoping fish would be back on the bait we found Thursday but that was not the case. Lots of jumping around without any luck. Sunday the sun was back with low-moderate wind. Again focusing on docks with shade I caught a 2.10 smallie on a black/blue jig. Not enough weight to be in the money so we let it go back where I caught it. No other bites on the docks we tried some other areas without success. With an hour left in the tournament we went back to the main lake point and put the boat in 15-20ft. Wind was blowing in strong. Found some chunky Kentucky’s using a swim bait. I locked down a 5th place with the 4.04 smallie on Friday. Looking back probably needed to focus out deeper but that’s fishing.

Thanks Bo. I have a couple sinking twitch style baits that might work like the holy rogue. I will give it a shot.

I am also a fan of that clear water!
