Redears are in all of the little lakes and ponds around saint louis. youll see them spawning in may at carondelet park by the thousands. THey look mostly small though. As for longears.....Ive never caught one from saint louis, but they are very common in small creeks and streams.

What's funny is that for 20+ years 1 of those pilings has produced way better than the others.

It is actually a 1995 70hp (E70TLEOR). I have to fix the trailer lights right now, but I may take you up on that. It seems to run fine hooked up to the hose, but as soon as I put it under load, i better punch it or it will die. I am extremely tempted to just put a new outboard on the back, but you seem to really like evinrude. Do you think i should just leave it back there? You're at LOZ correct?

Yeah i had the same feeling, but i made the wrong decision anyway lol. What can i say, im an optimist. The funny thing is, i caught 3 decent fish right before the hwy 8 bridge out of the rocks on a spinner bait, i thought its gonna be a decent day, then i caught 3 more fish the rest of the float.

Would you mind divulging a bit of info on how you rig, and fish a jigging spoon? What type of gear do you use? Feel free to ignore this, I just love fishing a jigging spoon and am curious and always looking for tips.

Because those are the rules I'm setting for you lol. I also dont claim to catch any oversized bass, in fact if you see read any reports I post, I'm a dink slayer. The bass that stack up on points are mostly 12-16 inch spotted bass...not oversized by any means. I'm sure any tournament guy would pass them up quickly. I've posted the pics of the bass I've caught on table rock but it caused quite the stir and in retrospect wasn't a good idea. I'll be down the last week of july in kimberling. Mostly fishing point 7, schooner creek, and the bridge. I'll try to grab a few screen shots. See I even gave you my "secret spots" lol, I'm so generous.

You go march down a bank right now at table rock with a redeye shad and report back to me how well you did. Table rock is a deep water lake and fish stack up in the summertime at 20 or 30 feet deep. Having eyes to see that deep is an extremely valuable tool.

7/4 river was high and muddy. Less than 1 foot visibility. But I wanted to fish anyway, and didnt wanna fish a lake with the summer heat. Fished a spinnerbait exclusively, only caught 6 bass, it was very slow fishing. Biggest was a 16inch lm. 5 out of the 6 came waking a double colorado blade. I had several missed blowups right at the boat. Next time the river is in decent shape, I'm gonna leave my confidence baits at home and only fish spinnerbaits and crankbaits.

Idk about units that cost several thousand dollars, but when I was a kid at table rock, I would just point hop and hit dock ends with night crawlers. I caught lots doing that because I knew which points were good. When I got a graph (humminbird something or other. About 700$) I was able to see bait and fish that I'd never seen before and it definitely helped me catch more fish. Now I just idle around the point and if I dont see anything I move on and dont even waste time fishing. I'm way more efficient with a graph. It also has helped me tremendously with offshore crappie fishing, and trolling at Stockton lake. Even at the little lakes where I live, crappies stack up on deep brush and the graph is helpful.

Are you catching more little ones than normal? I guess dinks are a good sign.

The upper big is the same as its ever been. I think you "secret creek" guys are in for major disappointment in the future as there will only be more people using it and more often. I guess living in saint louis and fishing in sewer drains and around massive crowds has conditioned me to be pretty used to it by now.

Fished Saturday. River was low and dingy. Maybe 2 ft of visibility. Took out at TDL. Caught about 20 or so with a few that were 15 inches, the rest dinks. Most were on a whopper plopper. Only caught a few on jerkbait, and a few on a worm. I think the low visibility ruined the jerkbait bite. Didn't see another person except at put in and take out. That was nice.

In Japan they just wrap people up in big plastic bags and carry them off like a giant sack of taters.
