  1. Some of you may know I am a Senior Writer for Drury Outdoors. Well, today we finally got the news we were able to share individual works via a link. I write a TON for them so if you are interested either download the DeerCast App or go to www.deercast.com. I write about a lot of different things. My most popular stories include "How Deer See" and "Things that Go Bump in the Woods," which is about creepy encounters in the outdoors. This is a self promotion, I'll admit, but I tend to include some of the merry band of degenerates (you all) in stories when I can. One was in "In-Fishermen," actually. I appreciate the dialogue on here and wanted to share my latest story on turkey legs and thigh cooking. https://deercast.com/app/feed/item/19996
  2. My great Aunt and Uncle lived on Tennyson in Overland. Ashame the county is where it is. I did move back to STL for a year and stayed away in Lake St. Louis lol
  3. Lol oh yea NoCo born and raised..and still somewhat proud. Went to college at Rockhurst University. Liked KC so much I stayed..been 12 years now. Family still lives in NoCo and Creve Coeur.
  4. Lol hey I am from Florissant! I get a pass..
  5. Duck and portabello for lunch. Anybody ever shoot a club-footed duck??
  6. Agree it's dumb, but I've caught trout at Busch Wildlife Lake 28 in June/July/August on wiggle warts. Some are hearty I suppose.
  7. Somebody certainly posted "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here..this is the war room!" already? If not, that is definitely one of mine.
  8. Cool, I'll go grab some at the hardware store. Appreciate the tips! And yea, little far of a drive. I'm tempted to go fishing though..work is dead.
  9. Since I'm quarantined by our amazing government I may just go out to spite them and get the replacement ring. I was hoping to just do it here. Wonder if super glue would work temporarily?
  10. I have a guide on one of my baitcasters that has a crack or something in it. The abrasion is not good. I don't want to replace the whole guide. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to repair it? It's just one spot, and I've identified where with a Q-tip. Would a file work? Or electrical tape? Thanks in advance.
  11. For the first time in a while, last Saturday was a decent jerkbait bite. Caught a few on each drift across from River Point. Nothing big.
  12. No kidding. Maybe I'll be able to catch a nice couple of bass at LOZ for the first time in a couple years!
  13. Well, got the email yesterday. Officially banished from going to the office until after March 30th. This is getting crazy.
  14. It'll be tough but not terrible. Last time they had five flood gates open I did well dragging a big san juan and big scuds in the seams. Really close to the bank on some areas. You have to be on the bottom. The issue is TR sends over a ton of moss/algae that covers the bottom and water column so you will have to check your flies/lures/bait a lot. I don't think TR got cold enough this year to have a shad kill. I think as we get toward April and gates are still open we will see shad, since they get up on the dam rocks to spawn. But that's just my opinion. I fished it Thur/Fri of last week and it was tough. As for the creeks, my guide buddy said Roark blew out in an hour when they were in there fishing yesterday. Had one line of clear water near the bank where they could still catch em. Kind of scary..the spring rains aren't even here yet and the White River chain is still hurting from last year's high water events..
  15. Sure was--a report and details as in depth, type of banks, any nuances to pay attention to, etc. Not the exact location as it seemed you were looking for. If I misinterpreted that, my bad. I write plenty of very detailed fishing reports on here and give any advice I can.
  16. Want me to catch em for you, too? 8-10 fow, body with chartreuse in it with a 1/16-ounce head.
  17. Need to go to LOZ. Had two big limits in an hour Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. Biggest were all 1.0-1.3-lbs. Had a couple 14-inchers we let go.
  18. Yep! I used to hang out with Villa girls in high school. Talk about spoiled, uppity SOBs. I do not talk to many anymore. They think they are on another level in society and probably think COVID is for the poor
  19. Classic Villa parent. That's all I'll say.
  20. I'll make sure to tell Bill he's full of it. Senile old man. Just kidding..he's good. Probably just put it under the wrong park.
  21. Stop into Everhart's in Clinton. They should be able to point you in a good direction on a shop and any fixes! Welcome! I am in Clinton a lot. If you ever want to fish, let me know. I can show you around the area and on Truman!
  22. A lot of people sleep on the NE for fishing. My Aunt lives on Cape Cod and you would not believe the incredible freshwater fishing on the Cape. Tons of lakes. Almost all species of trout, salmon, smallies, largemouth, pickerel. I've fished various lakes since i was a kid and every time it has been lights out. Of course, the saltwater fishing is great, too.
  23. My cousin fishes Sparrowfoot area a lot in July and August and said it is lights out dunking around the deeper timber. Truman overall is just insane with crappie from those I talk to so I'd assume it's still great. Weaubleau creek area is producing some giants right now.
  24. haha ended up going to Truman. Was a great decision. Thanks man!
  25. Incredible. And yep, lakers last a long time. I don't know how, but I read once a Lake trout caught was estimated to be 75 years old!
