Went out Saturday 10/5 in search of those toothy critters. Did really well bottom bouncing in 25-30 fow. Pulled 6 keepers in the boat. Threw 2 back that we’re right on line but decided not to be greedy. And had 2 shorts and 2 REALLY short ( more on that later), with the occasional bass and sunfish. Fished from 7am-4pm again, the bite was strong early morning till just after noon it seemed to start slowing down. Then from 2-4 seemed almost non existent. Was a great day on the water with my dad and uncle. Very limited boat traffic which was nice.
So about those 2 REALLY short fish. Need some help identifying them. They looked like walleye fry. Both came from getting snagged and circling back to retrieve it. The first time we had a big laugh, joking about if he’s a keeper or not. Then saying we could never do that in a million years. Well sure enough another snag later same thing happened, so the laughing started up again. But if someone could identify what it actually is that would be awesome.
