  1. Sweet basil sprinkled in the butter before grilling. Used to be a secret.
  2. Ah…grilled cheese sammich. I have a secret ingredient.
  3. My favorite snack starts with a Ritz cracker. A generous amount of miracle whip, sharp cheddar, slice of kielbasa and tabasco. Thank me later.
  4. Max says, "did you say ribs"?
  5. St. Louis Style ribs have been rubbed and near ready to go on the top rack of the grill. No smoking today. Baked beans and slaw gonna be next to them.
  6. That line roll casts well for me.
  7. Faster action rods being stiffer by nature do not roll cast as well. Consider some line is in the water and that water's resistance (pull on the line) puts more bend in the rod is stored energy and will tranfer that energy to the line. At least this is my notion of what is happening.
  8. Yup---I wrote tributes to both Tucker and Bromley in that blog. We love our dogs as family. They give so much and ask so little. I will let you know. I took on a design project for an architect, so it may be some days--depending. Semi-retirement is like a yo-yo. First up then down and then down again.
  9. The two setters in the header have passed on, but I don't have the heart to change. Max, the blue belton is the Tri-colored setter Tucker's cousin. Max is four now and mentioned a number of times in the blog. Yes--I have fished the new 3 wt thrice and I love it. It behaves just as I wanted. Casts like a dream and water loads fantastic while laying out a fly real soft-like. It is S-Glass and built for a soft action, so because it water loads so nicely, roll casting in tight spots is slick. LOL--I haven't fished the Trout Blues fly yet, but I also have high hopes.
  10. I enjoy tying variations of patterns and just making them up using different material choices. I don't always use the same flies, but I do have go to flies that I have confidence in.
  11. Some years back, my son brought his .454 Cassul over and said Dad try this. Once was enuff.
  12. Yup--praying.
  13. My favorite is on the top rack grill after seasoning and then at the end I brush on a wet sauce. Delicious! The other is in a baking pan with tiny taters, carrots and onions. lol
  14. My wife does a chicken breast meal by covering with mushroom soup, sliced maters topped with parm cheese and baked. Its amazing. We do thighs much moreoften.
  15. Congrats! Very cool.
