Thanks Duane, there is a Horton RDX sitting here on the table now. Although too much money at $500 off I felt it was a good value. Took it next door to the store and they set it up for me. Under Billethead's guidance I have ordered some Swacker broadheads. I bought the tenpoint carbon arrows. I am sure I will destroy some fletching. Trying to decide which fletching jig, I am accustom to left wing helical feathers, do not think that will cut it. old dog having to learn new tricks.

My first step will be Turkey season...I too worry about cwd. I do have the opportunity to get a Horton listed above from a smaller outfit for $750 or the 10 pt. for 1200 with the accudraw. Hope the reverse limbs work ok, I am usually scared of new things.

Well not to be picky but he did say he was starting near Durango then Gunnison, thus he will be going through Ridgeway.... will not be out of the way, he will likely need a place to stop and change his pants after his trip over Red Mountain Pass pulling his camper......a little fishing and a Bob drink might help settle his nerves. g

Seth, you open a new door with dock shooting. The BPS micolite has also been my rod of choice for that task until recently I acquired a B&M Sharpshooter which is a tad better for me. The microlite has served well when I have folks come without suitable equipment, they have withstood some MAJOR abuse. Per your statement my 6'6" airstream gets a tryout on the 32d. For dipping/jig poling I use the Sam Heaton super sensitive 9' just because it fits better in my boat. I am using power pro or Nano 8 with a pline cxx leader. All of these rods can be purchased for under $50 on sale, and you add the Pfluger President 6925 you have rigs for under $100 Good Suggestions

Everything Brad said here is true and I agree with 100 percent. When I was rod shopping, he gave me the very same advice several years ago. The ONLY thing I would add, as I too was hung up on spending that much on a crappie rod is the advice of Jason King...."how much did you pay for a deer rifle that you only shoot once or twice a year...? How many days will you use and enjoy a good crappie rod...?" I have several of the aforementioned rods.

What he said, while the spot lock is not perfect it is a wonderful tool will be nice when more perfected. Think the Ulltrex will bring the best of both worlds. I am slow to get comfortable with the foot pedal on my Terrova Remote is handy. Do not see myself ever being without the spot lock, but stressful in tight dock situations like at LOZ or trees on twain or Truman, slight delay in reaction, more my problem than the unit.

Chief is correct, having been in the business 39 years some things are surprising.
