  1. Interesting comments about the sludge factor. Before I moved to Table Rock, I mostly fished Oklahoma lakes. Many of them are exactly as you describe. And the older they are the higher the sediment level. Other lakes are not as quick to silt in. On much of Tenkiller, Bull Shoals, and even TR you can still feel pebbles when you drag a bottom bait even out to 40 feet. BTW, the original post asked about confusing terms. One used frequently on this board is "roll off." A roll off is where a flat ( usually a wide flat point) suddenly rolls into deeper water. Often, not always, the flat will actually rise a bit before it drops. During the summer, after the topwater bite ends, that is where I spent the majority of my time, other than treed channel swings. Bo's reports are night fishing based (I often wonder when he sleeps). He throws bottom baits. He even fishes his spinner baits like a jig. His method would not be so successful on a sludge covered flat.

Wrench, in deep pocket restaurants, those sprouts are called seared or charred and demand a hefty price. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1013042-seared-brussels-sprouts

  13. Well done. You are using Ken Greenwood's favorite tactic. Ken is the guide with the log cabin pontoon boat based at Holiday Island Marina.
  14. Beaver tailwaters hold much better fish than many assume. I caught a near 7 pound fishing a jerk bait for walleye, and my friend Larry, who has a 6+ rainbow from Rim Shoals mounted and in his office, caught and released an even larger brown just below the 62 bridge. He was in the middle of a divorce and said, " I can't afford another fish mount."

First, I went to our freezer. I found cooked but frozen chicken. Next I went with a frozen baggie. It held Turkey bird stock. Last I chopped veg and all went in the slow cooker crock. Simmered stock soup/stew. 😀

    What's Cooking?

Grate you nutmeg and grind your pepper into the dry semolina, add the salt too and whisk to combine. Put it in the food processor. Mix the water, oil, and egg you will use in a pourable cup and start the food processor. Pour a thin stream of the liquid into the whirling flour and stop every few seconds to look at the mix. When it resembles wet sand, pinch it and see if it bonds together. If so, you are done. Take the dough from the processor and mold it into a ball and wrap it in cling film. Into the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Pull it out and roll it.
