The fishing on Saturday and Sunday was out standing ....no water generation either day until 4 p.m. but the key was to get out early...about the time the Maxwell House coffee is just finishing. There were a couple of reasons for that with the main one being beating the crowds. I boated up to Short Creek area and had a hay day. You have to sit more on the south side and cast to the channel...or what used to be the channel anyway. Two key baits for me were a marabou jig and the Berkley pink worm.....both caught fish - 30+ both days. If they were tired of one I switched and so it went. By 9 a.m. they really shut down in that area and i think it had more to do with that area becoming busy - and it was busy.... - I was able to move down lake and pick up quite a few in the normal haunts! I will post pics later - and a shout out to the Iowa folks who were in the slip next to mine! I hope you caught many fish this weekend C4f

OK - lets get back to fishing and reporting....right now I am boat less so I figured I would come to work....not to productive as I am on many fishing sites and not really working ...so I thought about a quick survey. 1. Where did you fish - doesn't have to be TR 2. How did you fish? Boat / bank / Kayak? 3. Conditions i.e. air / water temp water clarity 4. Method that caught the most fish - of course pictures are most appreciated. Have fun! C4F

Vern - wait a minute.....OA is on the internet....I use Google Chrome to access it...and I have followed much of the advice given here related to fishing.....HOLY SMOKES you guys have shaped who I am!?!?! And here I thought it was me making all those bad fishing decisions....glad I can blame it on someone....whew..... Related to JM and his buying stuff - I don't think any of his purchases have been hostile takeovers have they? We just acquired a company that the only reason it was for sale is the previous owner drained it of cash....the only option if we didn't buy it was to close the entire thing down and folks would have been out of work. ....is it really different than good ol Warren Buffett buying a company? Living here in Omaha I can tell you that he is a demanding owner....looking for a return on his investment. There are other blogs that talk poor quality concerns - never underestimate the power of the thing that Vernon has mentioned....enough negative press and eventually something changes. Champ - you are right the Bible is the best owners manual there is!! Unfortunately I try to fix many things on my own instead of reading the manual! Thanks internet friends C4F

Thanks Mike - I called them today and they have not had a chance to look at it yet! I think it is a water pump or a bad thermostat - I would fix it myself except it is under warrenty C4F

I understand the confusion you all thought I was using the "Ned".....I am using the D*Ned...something completely different.....or is it? OK - Not a Table Rock report #2...got up early and wanted to get away from the no wake lakes...headed to Branched Oak...a 3k+ acre lake just west of here.....open to all motor size and no speed restrictions....good and bad... Beautiful morning...air temp mid 60's / water temp 75....sun coming up and water like glass - start idling away from the dock - just turned my hat backwards getting ready to drop the hammer and have the world pass by like the Start Trek Enterprise headed to Klingon country.....beeeeeeeppppppppp....WTH! That sound made me jump a bit ...couple of minutes later...beeeeeepppppp....are you kidding me! Figure what the heck so I idle to my first spot.....much fishing throwing many promising looking baits....to no avail....then I caught one worthy of MLF on the D*Ned (Major Little Fish) When the time was right call the Merc guy - "bring it in"...so I troll motor back to the dock....casting a Rick Clunn 1.5 square bill along the rocks....BAM! I thought I had a Hawg / swamp donkey / big mama...until it felt like I was bringing up a tree...yep you guessed it.....YUCK! It was a good 18-20# fish.....slimed the heck out of the carpet.... On to the next adventure! C4F

Lake lover - yes it was Wannaho....I cruised up the west side and was slow dragging the little guy from the shallow (2-3') to the drop off....it went to 8-12' That is when they would pick it up. The bite was soft. Yeah - I use the D*Ned at all of the local lakes....it is different enough, given the fishing pressure, that the fish really take to it. It also dominates at Prarie Queen. BTW I counted 30+ rigs in the Wannaho lot when I was there not to mention the kayak armada! C4F

As Mayo said to Sgt. Foley....."I got no where else to go" to give a fishing report. BTW I had to google the quotes as I have not watched the movie in a LONG time....and it was my wife's idea....but I digress. Around here there are mostly no wake NRD flood control lakes - one opened up a couple of years ago about 20 miles west of town ....so I dunk the 250HP boat Sunday afternoon and punch it...tapping 1000 RPMS =/- and go to my first spot ..... A little back ground - they stock these lakes with a variety of fish from Northern to perch and everything in between. Most guys are trying to catch crappie and walleye so that leaves the Bass alone to some extent. WT - 84 with over cast skies....... Average lake depth - 20' Thought I would be a bank beater.....tried a little flippin = nada.....shallow crank = nada....jig = nada so I drug out ole faithful....The D*NED (Dave Ned head) with a green pumpkin Z. Started catching about a doz the next hour with a surprise thrown in! There - I feel better - thanks internet friends C4F

OK - 12 days 17 hours and 4 minutes to go until the next tourney - I am NOT going to zero this time out ....hey maybe this is like golf and the lowest score wins!? ....man I need to go fishing. C4F

I will hold up the team...being the bottom guy and all....it doesn't help when you miss a couple of tourney's and I thought I was going to make up some ground when it became a 3 day event....man did I get something handed to me on this one!! Hmmmm - maybe I am seeing a pattern here... my fantasy fishing is as good as my real fishing

I really envy all of you guys - getting to fish during the week.....all I get to do is work but it does support my wife's shoe and my Ned rig habits...... And like you she is a hot one today!! 108 on the truckometer when I drove home today C4F

Dave, Another thing that I noticed is that your heads/ hooks don't rust....I created a Babler advanced survival source integrated Ned survival kit (BASSiN) per the post and in the box with the moisture strips mind you the Non Dave heads rusted - kinda weird And I did fish them today......Bass and Crappie were the takers.....a lot of fun!!! Hmmm...I didn't get a free sample but I must confess that I did buy a package or two of the Larew....I couldn't help myself....it just kinda happened.....they were just hanging around at the Cabela's - I was a little bored....next thing you know I was squishing the package...it felt so strange.....and it went south from there. Before I knew it we are alone by the lake and it just popped out of the package.....on to the hook it went....well, we were already past the point of no return so I went for it. It was really disappointing and in the end the Larews really meant nothing to me (mostly they didn't get one bite!!! and they fell apart literally!!) Changed back to the Z....cast in the same area.....BAM - fish on! Yeah I learned my lesson Dave's head in the front and a Z on the back is the blueprint for fish catching! C4F

Ab - thanks for posting....great lunch time / stuck inside / have to look at another dumb spread sheet break....I think these items will catch many a fisher person for sure ...my wife?? Well she wont be thanking you so much when I tell here that I have to keep up with the OA guys / gals other wise they send me laughing emoticons making fun of my tiny tackle inventory....

Jim - I don't know you and I am glad you are OK....mostly that you didn't whack your head or something when you fell....I swim like a rock so whenever I am on bigger water like TR I have a tendency to keep it on at the time....sure, it makes my tan lines look a little funny when I go shirtless - but when I get on the no wake lakes around here not so much - I guess I could fall out of the boat going 5 MPH as well as 65 MPH C4F

I see that there is a Bass Tourney launching out of the other end of Taney later in the month....I bet that will be fun given all of the fish that appear to have come over the dam!

Maybe this has been asked and answered on another forum....but will some one take the vehicles out of the lake or are they there forever?

For sure - but that might help me since I cannot seem to get my picks in on time....actually it is a new strategy. slack off then come on strong the second half of the season! I want to give the top 5 in the group a good head start! C4F

As I woke up today the thought came into my mind about how blessed we are to live in this great Nation.....because of the freedoms that we have I can do the following: 1. Complain about the weather and how it mucked up my fishing 2. Read about how my internet friends did while fishing.....and living vicariously through them 3. Hug my wife / children / grand kids.....I know I don't look that old. I just started early! 4. And the list goes on All because of those men and women that are and have fought from the armed services to my local fire and police to make sure that this is as safe a country as can be - thank you Lord All have a safe day today. p.s. looking forward to reading ramp stories

Vernon - we don't hold the fact that you have a Ranger with a G2 against you .....this forum, if nothing else, is truly non judgmental in any way shape or form when it comes to the type of boat or motor that one chooses to utilize in their quest for the elusive green devil.....but keep in mind we do have judgement and opinions on jersey's, Ned fishing & the best head, pliers to put new hooks on, if you should launch / fish in high water situations.... really other than that we are fairly unbiased and tolerant except for those with no tolerance then we will not put up with those kind! Mike - really cool that you got our wife fishing....as soon as mine started I was able to get a bigger boat! Then again she did buy more shoes that she needed to fish in.....not sure who won here C4F
