  1. Yes...yes you did and no socks...but no worries I found some in a drawer (gently used) and we are putting a care package together for you as we speak! Just kidding....about the gently used part! Take care - our prayers to you and yours C4F
  2. Champ you are right about social media, the news and even coffee shop gossip! but the picture cant be to far from the current day truth...I just checked out Phil's FB page and watched the vid of his one cast.....he has a pretty good sense of humor considering what is going on in the background! Poor guy says he has no underwear! C4F
  3. You know it is a bad day when docks and boats go by..... C4F
  4. If it is at that level by the Landing - back up to Fall Creek and work your way down.....bad juju for Lilleys and Coopers and even Scotty's....I wonder what the guy in teh boat is doing? C4F
  5. This is true - I fought the beast, fishing next to folks w/o "The Ned" this last summer - at first there was a significant amount of pleasure in catching fish as they watched in awe....finally I was the rock star of fishing slinging my 6'6" rod around loaded w/6lb line and the little guy on the end...well without the tattoos and groupies....then humility sets in and next thing you know heads, zinkers and other things are being handed out...and I think that my heart also grew in size...no wait that was a cartoon that was on a few days ago....anyway keep on nedding my internet fishing friends....and remember I dont always Ned fish but when I do I use Dave's heads.....stay fishy my friends. C4F
  6. God bless to all and a Merry Christmas to all of my internet fishing friends - while many will be fishing today in 60 degree weather we are now dealing with 4" of snow....I guess the good Lord thought we needed a white Christmas. C4F
  7. Thanks Bill....reading your report helps my lunch everyday I think that you should Go Pro a few of your outings like Phil does.....now that would be something to watch! Or maybe Phil could be your camera guy.....Wow...I had better stop and get back to work. C4F
  8. Didn't Duckett start the white rod thing? Skeet Reese is yellow......Rick Clunn is or was blue. I figure no matter the color that I can be just as challenged to catch fish....I guess it is not the equipment....who knew? I will admit I do like both the PQ and the Lews reels and good info on the braking Champ....I have found that mine (Lews) can cast a country mile....the problem is that the mile of line is all balled up in my hand! C4F
  9. The term cat fishing really means cat fishing and not some internet term for "hot" girls luring lonely basement dwellers out for their money C4F
  10. I see what you did here C4F
  11. Okay - this is completely unrelated to the topic.....Champ did you and Donna have a spat and she got in a changed your profile pic? I see you are now sporting a picture of a Equus africanus asinus which, according to Wikipedia there are 40 million world wide...... I know that there are a few here where I work and I suspect I have also belonged to that family a time or two..... just wondering C4F
  12. Evening my internet friends....well I had the chance to fish the Rock today....cloudy with a fair wind and water temps were in the 58 - 60 range. I launched out of Moonshine and really didnt go to far. Mainly in the coves to the west. Had a craw crankin bait tied on, ned, whopper plopper 130 and a war eagle spinner per the past few articles. Here is the first fish that I caught - it was a fighter....as you can see about 17" - I caught this one on the craw color crank.... nothing on the WE or the WP, and a few on the ned with the smallest being this one. Then it really slowed down - sat down to eat a cracker or two and decided to read the OA blog again and Bill kinda challenged me to use my "TV" screen to find bass....well I had bought a Dixie some time back and tied it on. Looked for the mark on the screen dropped it down and two pumps later a nice 1.5 pound bass - i duplicated that is few times and then hung the crazy thing in a tree and broke it off. Overall had 8 for the day - not a bad thanksgiving at all C4F
  13. And a big thanksgiving to all of my OA internet friends....while I only know you by the picture attached to your name I am thankful to have met a group of folks that I can vicariously fish through in those times I am not on the lake.... Stay blessed C4F
  14. Good additional information Bill - I am not surprised by her comments on BPS extending themselves. All you have to do is look around and see they have been spending $$$ at an aggressive rate i.e. The Pyramid, Top of the Rock, Ranger etc. I would love to take a peek at their balance sheet one time. To BPS's credit that is one reason to stay private, it is your money and you can do with it what you want - being a Nebraskan all my life Cabela's was "the place" to stop at and get gear for many years....but to fuel their growth and even to sustain them selves they had to or should I say wanted to go to the outside money...that has risks as you are opening the door to folks that are after returns and do not understand the culture and will cut up a company for the quick dollar leaving the proverbial dead bodies behind. Heck we are seeing this right now in Omaha with Con-Agra Foods. I am not sure where or how this will end but I hope it will not end up with people losing jobs - not many things worse than coming home at the end of the day and have to tell your spouse that it was your last day. Well I had better get off my soap box...thanks internet friends! C4F
  15. I don't know who this is but what have you done with Champ....Has Champ been raptured? For sure I am going to sign up early and buy a bunch of War Eagle's as this just got serious! If he shows up in a Jersey then we will know this is a real throw down! And an awesome way to spend an anniversary with your best friend..... C4F
  16. Obama Care?? C4F
  17. But they also employ about 150,000 people.....BPS is 22,000, mostly part time and seasonal - and Moguy you are right about the automation and the innovation that goes on in that company. But there is a place for everything - there will be those that will buy at brick n mortar and those that will buy on line...I, for one, do both. It just fits my life style....one thing that I do like is order on line and have shipped to store to save shipping $$$. Ness thanks for the explanation on the chart - very interesting.....being from Nebraska and growing up around Cabela's all my life I hate to see anything to happen to that company. They are the town out in western NE where no one would have a job if it wasn't for them. C4F
  18. NEss I am not sure what I am looking at here but I have to assume that it would indicate that this is a possibility.....with JM valued at $4.1 billion he could surely make something happen...maybe he should call our very own Warren Buffett and between the two of them find enough coin in the cushions of their couches to buy Cabela's
  19. So how does that 1 HP engine do for pulling power and gas mileage? C4F
  20. I would say that the look on your dad's face would indicate it was a great day! C4F
  21. Jtram - you can be a linker.....just not a lurker I also missed the chat....not sure why though. I will make an effort to be on the next one...maybe not contributing though unless someone is bringing their 250 HP Bass boat to one of our famous no wake, 15' deep, 300 acre lakes....Power Poles are a must though...jersey's optional Even though I live in Nebraska I like talking to and reading about the "on the water" stories....I know that TR is a clear water fishery but reading what guys like Champ, Bill, Dave (Ned Rig), others use technique wise is educational and I even follow Phil for what trout do....yes I am a closet trouter....it actually helps me make better decisions on the water ....not necessarily catch more or bigger fish mind you. It lets me live vicariously though each catch and even argument ...consider the now infamous wopper plopper discussions which may be a close second to the Ned talk. When I told my wife about the WP talk she questioned what type of site I was visiting!!..wow that sounds a bit sad.....but it also helps me for the few times I get to TR / Tany each year....yes I do selfishly use some of the info to try to catch money Bass i.e. Oakley but three years into it and I am still donating to the cause but I do get a free lunch right? O yeah and a rod! You guys share great information and I am glad that there is another way to get it out to the rest of us! C4F
  22. I have been known to call her a fun hater....behind her back of course.....I am not that dumb C4F
  23. Heck I thought that was the way y'all talked down there - remember hooked on phonics C4F
  24. PB&J, dirt and the TRD with the sqiggly tail has been nailing them in the Cornhusker state......maybe I should send some to our football team??? C4F
  25. My wife has put some kind of parental block so I cannot go to the site any more! C4F
