  1. As i sit and watch the wet snow fall from my office window while I am working I can feel the green monster of envy grow larger and larger......I am just about ready to risk fishing in the Cabela's tank right now....... C4F
  2. Ofda!! I dont think my stealthy form could handle the trim cut..... C4F
  3. Great vid Dave - I have also tried many different heads based on what was in the boat and you are right...many look the same but react differently and that will result in either catching fish or not...their brains may be tiny but they aren't stupid... also if the other shop doesn't work out let me know - I have a tool room full of guys that would love to put something like this on a mill and run with it. C4F
  4. Now that would be worth a selfie! C4F
  5. I was watching this close....actually everyday so I would make sure and get a rod....I refreshed one day and ZERO! Needless to say I registered right away. I think I am still getting a rod hence what Ab posted, but either way I will be there C4F
  6. Green - mine came with a step up, I am not 60...yet...but I love it! Here is a link to some different kinds of steps http://dtsinnovations.com/ C4F
  7. Dave great video - that is why I use it at the "lakes" up here and consistently out catch the guys fishing next to me......I did see that the Z man did come out with some that were pre - cut. I picked up a package and they work great! C4F
  8. Champ - I am just happy to not have a professional overrun.... much less chunk it across the lake. But you might be on to something here....maybe that is why a lot of these guys drop shot! (just teasing all) C4F
  9. It was Neon yellow Sore Thumbs....NEON YELLOW!!! ....you could have spotted us from space for as bright as these were...but you are right it is because of her that I have a bigger boat so I would have worn it if she really pressed it. C4F
  10. Buddy - I agree with Champ and the others.....I especially admire folks like yourself that are trying to get kids of all ages into doing something other than sitting in front of a TV or holding something in their hand other than a phone or game controller!!! C4F
  11. This!!! Much like recording your golf handicap!!
  12. Wrench - I see what you are saying....full disclosure my only "touney" was the Oakley Big Bass event last year.....didn't win any money but had fun and a pretty good lunch and I like the rod.... I will probably do it again this year. And I have to tell this story - my wife fished with me and prior to going she desperately wanted us to get matching t-shirts so it looked like we fish as a team....whew, after reading this I am glad I dodged that bullet! Just having some fun Champ! Anyway back to my thought - are you also referring to club tournaments? Or are you referring to more organized events like Fisher of Men, FLW and the likes? You make a good case for a solid business model that would make money for the tourney and the players. The dilution that you refer to is why some of these other events are suffering, or I assume that to be the case....only so many $$$ to go around. And Champ - you are so right.....I had a t-shirt that read "second place is the first loser" C4F
  13. Thanks - Smithville and Mozingo not to far from here - may have to give it a try.....when the outdoor temps move above 35 degrees! Next week looks brutal up here for a couple of days
  14. mjk86 - I have fished the Ned mucho much here in, as dtrs5kprs calls them, silted in lakes with grass around the edges in that depth....they are KILLER in that situation. I find a green pumpkin or something like that to work best - and as he stated earlier use the Z tech line of baits. Something about the stretch makes a world of difference. I also fish this along the dam area, pitching it along the rock and have had great luck. O yeah - Trophy is right, if you do leave them rigged up the hook will rust.....very frustrating! Back to the jerk bait - primarily a clear water bait correct? Not much of that up here. C4F
  15. Holy Smokes!! That is a great fish! Congrats to her - and I am sure that she will never bring up the fact that she caught a fish bigger than you when you are around friends and relatives.....much! C4F
  16. I had to laugh when I read this - because of a similar situation by hiring Bill I was able to buy a bigger bass boat!! Not that I needed one mind you but when it was her idea I felt that to keep our relationship in tack it was the least I could do I know, I know - what a guy!
  17. Heck - I read these posts as a way to live vicariously through Champ, Donna - who might be the better fisherperson of the two, Bill, the Ned rig guy - I also read the Taney forum so I can live through Phil, the Gator jet guy, man is that boat loud!! and some poor guy that is continually snagged in outlet 3, maybe some one should go help him??? All though when I am on Taney, once a year, I do post what I am doing there, that advice and $4 will get you a cup of coffee at the bucks!. You folks make it bearable since I live in an area that uses the term lake like you would a shallow back water area....most of our lakes are no wake!! Tough when you have 250HP hanging on the back Anyway - please keep posting and I promise I will not poach your place but I may say hi if I am in the area! C4F
  18. Fishingaddiction give this link a try http://www.bbcboards.net/humminbird-sonar-gps/ I find that the technical guys on the BBC to be pretty darn good. Hope it helps! C4F
  19. I think there is only one sie head, they have a ton of them at Lilley's...and as for the color, well I broke off quite a few so I used black, gold and silver - it really didnt seem to matter. Good luck C4F
  20. Have been own since wednesday afternoon - fished from Fall Creek to Lilley's. Using a pink Trout magnet anywhere from 4-6' depending on where I was at on 2lb line.... As others have stated wind or chop on the water is key to a quick bite if there is no wind just give the line a pull or two and that usually will trigger a strike or two. Yesterday morning caught about 30 all sizes up to quite a few that were pushing a pound....fighters all of them...even the dinks! Happy thanksgiving and fishing! C4F
  21. Yes - back to fishing. Am I reading the entry right....you get a rod if you register for the two days...wasn't it a rod for one day last year? Either way I am in for two....awesome event and a great lunch! C4F
  22. TMI!!!
  23. Or if you are looking for a house check out VRBO.com - pretty good site with options if you didnt want to stay at a resort type. C4F
  24. Mattholder are you saying innsurance because of the potential damage? Or crazy drivers?? Fishinwrench - I am afraid that you are more right than wrong - all though my full insurance on my BB is only $350 / yr full coverage or something like that C4F
  25. Phil is right - yesterday when he wrote this I couldn't catch anything and was glad that we picked up 83 cent hot dogs at the Walmart! Today was different - a pink and white trout magnet 6' below the float was the key...fishing from Fall Creek to just above Lilley's just as Phil says - right in the middle. As I came around the bend after Trout Hollow I hung close to the docks throwing toward the middle. Not big ones mind you but the numbers were there and it was fun. I did catch one brown today C4F
