  1. Did the timber/shallow cover in the upper end go first or has the whole lake aged about the same?
  2. Good Luck!
  3. You might need to ZOOM in on that map a little more . 😉
  4. Went with a buddy to check his boat out, launched at Bridgeport. No joy with the boat so we fished a couple of hours on the trolling motor. Managed three keepers, one on a Ned off the bridge piling, one on a jig from the rip rap by the bridge and a nice meanmouth of about three lbs out of a brush pile on a bluff end. Also caught a few crappie up to 15 inches around the mouth of Bears Den on a swimbait.
  5. I've found out that some really nice bass can be under those active gar. 😉
  6. Hope you enjoy the change, always find your post interesting.
  7. Yeah, not like it's Jeopardy or something.
  8. Probably hit Boyd Duckett's Ego, it has to be floating around out there somewhere. 🙂
  9. I like it when it's puke tube time for smallies. Good report.
  10. Good job, Eric
  11. If you got good burgers at the Braum's Aurora, that's an even bigger surprise than a good day fishing.
  12. Those little dock crapper make a fine topwater, seen a few get ate getting too close to docks.
  13. Don't know but I'm tying a spinnerbait on.
  14. When did the fee's get high enough to keep you out? I know a lot of rif raf with money, so I don't think that's the answer..
  15. South of Aurora a mile, TV is talking about a tornado and hail in town, it wasn't even raining or blowing at the house. Lots of lighting and rain later in the night maybe around 4 inches.
  16. I've had a couple of small garages, including the one I have now. It works but I hate it every time you go in or out. The worst thing is the narrow doors, a tandem trailer and no straight shot at the garage.
  17. Seems I'm making weekly trips to Baxter. Didn't get on the water till after 1 this afternoon, decided to fish Little Indian. Only fished a couple of pockets, bite died a little when the wind laid down late in the afternoon. Once again the Tube was the prime bait for me , a couple on a jerkbait. I'd say if I was MLF fishing where every fish is a keeper it was a great day. Lots of 14 inchers of all varieties. I was able to complete the cycle for Table Rock, largemouth, smallmouth, spotted bass and a beautiful 13" meanmouth, bright green with bars on the side. My buddy hadn't ever seen one before . I did see three fish working a bed, fairly deep in the back of one pocket, lots of empties.Water temp was 65, most fish in the 5-10 foot range.
  18. I just love these post where the complaining is about bass fishermen, fishing. 😎
  19. You realize the legislature has nothing to do with regattas or fishing really. Stocking would be a waste of money for a lake the size of this one I'd think.
  20. I haven't caught a fish with a rough tail yet including several smallies. I've seen beds but the ones with fish around them are almost too deep to effectively fish for me.
  21. I should mention the bottom bite is EXTREMELY light, if you get just a peck and slack line, better reel and set the hook.
  22. Made a late decision to go today. Didn't get on the water till around 9:30, off around 4. Fished the same baits as last week but with better results. Ended the day with 8 keeps, 4 smallmouth and four spots. All just solid keepers but no big fish. GP Structure bug on the wobble head caught 4, one spot and 3 smallies. GP Tube caught the largest smallmouth (17+") and a spotted bass. Didn't get into Mr Babler's big Crappie but picked up two more spotted bass on a jerkbait. Most bites were still in 5-15 foot and almost all my fish were males. Have pics I'll try to load later.
  23. Got out yesterday. Had a slow start, expected to have a few bites on cranks or spinnerbaits but didn't work out. Missed a short topwater bite in the early AM according to another boater. Finally started getting a few on a four inch GP tube and a structure bug on a wobble head. Only three keepers, but a lot of smaller fish mostly spots. two smallmouth around 16 inches and a largemouth around 17 inches One keeper smallmouth on a Roostertail, the rest on a tube . Most bites were in 5-15 feet.
  24. Time to get out there for sure, nice fish and report.
